  1. Well done – very helpful. How far away from Dublin do you reckon this is, i.e. for people arriving off the ferry or meeting there, how long would it take to get to the meet site?
  2. TX was in town?
  3. No, not a soul. If you look closely you'll notice that there isn't even anyone on the motorbikes that have been caught in the pictures.
  4. You got it (nearly). Strips doors quicker than you can say, "a soft winds blows off Lake Como, must hang out the washing".
  5. From Tom's – " Flexilis, a wireless think tank,... " So that's your next ploy Al? You fancy moving up to a wireless think tank? What's the capacity? Does the pump fit internally? Does it suffer less from reverse suction double inlet-outlet vortex effect? Does it still have a 'secret reserve' in the right side or have they mastered that problem? We look forward to further blow by blow reports when you fit it.
  6. Ah. The postman finally arrived.
  7. You mean like this guy? " A Wireless Long Shot by Rob Flickenger There has been plenty of talk about the range of wireless Guzzis, so we decided to find out how far we could stretch it. This series of articles tracks our progress in trying to use the V.11b protocol to create a link from Sebastopol to a hilltop tower 20.9 miles north, and from there on to some homes 5 miles across a valley. In this first installment, we try out the 5-mile link and create an experiment to test the loss we would encounter on the 20.9-mile link." Before he went wireless, this Guzzi fanatic tried exhaustive experiments with wired cans. The tin ones worked pretty good once he dialed in the right map to his PC. Titanium was an unexpected flop. He later sold this design idea to Quat-D.
  8. 'til you replace them with paperclips
  9. Painted :!: Martin Barrett worked for Apple!!!!! hmm...I never saw one in the (painted) flesh, but happily I am tapping at a lovely new (clean) aluminium Pbk. I could never understand why the titanium got damaged so easily – so that's the explanation – Painted :!: The titanium caused problems for the 'wireless' transmission/reception too I think? Painted :!: So it seems the precedent has been set and maybe I can paint those ti cans so that they tone in with the Scura.
  10. NO, NO! Don't do that! You would undermine the whole ethos of this thread. Never mind the quality, feel the width.
  11. Well... Apple changed their PowerBooks from titanium casing to aluminium: because the titanium got all messed up, whereas the aluminium keeps its looks much better. Having said that, all you naughty boys have forced me into rash decision and I have just ordered some goodies this afternoon – in titanium.
  12. Sometimes, when there isn't a Moto Guzzi to hand, I use a car instead. I know it's naughty, but it can get you out of a hole. BTW Martin. We can tell that you are a bit of a bodger by the way that you slapped that monstrous sized photo into the site.
  13. – they don't have the internet down Kerry way yet. The creedonsinchigeelajelly thing gives that away... You'll have to wait 'til Jaap gets a letter from John and puts it on the site.
  14. Bring a tent.
  15. John O'Sullivan mentioned this so I have it in my diary. That doesn't mean that I can definitely go, but I definitely hope to possibly go, if I can... There could be a meet up at the ferry port in Ireland. What crossing would anyone be taking? It's Paul Smart's job to persuade Baldini to get on the ferry for a hop across the channel. What about BigJ - Drogheda?
  16. I thought they looked very similar too. When I put the pictures up I thouht that I had posted the same thing twice. Also their website does not seem to have been updated for a long time. I was interested to find out if anyone knew more just because they are local-ish, in the U.K. The Galassettis look good to me. They have replied with prices but didn't answer about how much of the pipework is included. It's hard to be sure whether prices are for one can or both, or what else exactly – unless it's actually stated (which in this case it is not). "guzzi v11 scura acciaio 420.00 carbonio 480.00." I presume that carbonio is carbon. Acciaio???

  18. What about Raceco? Has anyone experience of their kit?
  19. I started putting together a list last year. These are mainly systems that seemed like they might be available in the U.K., however I couldn't get any help from local dealers, who wouldn't acknowledge that options for Guzzi exist – and I gave up. There will be additional options for you USA folk. Anyway, this is a start. It could be added to with part numbers, web addresses, pictures, suppliers... 20. Ah, right, thanks for letting me know.
  21. Thanks for detailed replies. I'm told that the road version has 'a few more baffles in it' and an 'E' stamp so that is legal and would pass the annual MOT test. But Paul says that the race version has nothing in it! Which one do you think is best for the road Paul? Does your post mean that you think the road version flows better in normal use? Re having less performance: what I understand from previous posts is not that it has less overall performance than the stock exhaust. It seems that it provides an improvement in low-mid range, but it does not give as good overall performance as other full 'performance' exhausts – and especially at the top end. ?? I do like the look (from photos anyway). BigDrogheda – where did you get your bike?
  22. 1 do you use thread lock on the sump bolts on reassembly ? Use copper grease – anti-seize 2 is the oil level checked when the bike is upright,? and is it with the dipstick screwed fully in or just resting on the threads ? Up and screwed in
  23. Has anyone been able to get one of the ECUs, that comes with the MG Ti Kit, on its own? One of the key attractions of the the MG kit is getting the 'better' ECU. Would this ECU also be better than the standard ECU to use with other aftermarket pipes, including the Quat-D? The Power Commander is a more realistic option. Can any Quat-D owners say if it is necessary/the best way to go? Is there a map for the V.11 (2002) and a Quat-D? I suppose that a PC(as in computer) is absolutely necessary for installing maps– I've got Macs? Regarding choice of Quat-D type undergearbox exhausts. It probably makes sense to get the road-legal, rather than the race version. Any comments from folks who have got either? ???
  24. From new, Ive been perplexed by the 'buzz' that comes from the front brake when the lever is pulled. It sounds like it is operated by electricity rather than hydraulic.
  25. – watch this spot !
