  1. ummm perhaps you're thinking of Budgie the real Welsh heroes http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=54H3EUAzpVg
  2. Intrigued by fatty meat, to add to your butter and olive oil? Watch this one then, J. You need to get to around 7 minutes. *It sounds pretty good, actually.* As Baldini says in another topic, who wants a copy? Floyd was pretty much the original and the best.
  3. Back in the day when we thought that a digestive biscuit with a Laughing Cow cheese wedge was an exotic treat. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=u0eKlbcYYBA
  4. Ethan Johns produced http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=KWoqnuRBzgA
  5. Hi Jihem, it's not Rubin producing. It's just reminiscent to me of all the late Cash recordings in the way it's stripped right back & raw. Aging singer digging at his roots & his future. For a seventy year old he don't do so bad! KB LIke Lulu, Dusty and the rest of them, he's expressed some regret that the pressure when coming to fame was also to go 'commercial' or the equivalent of that term in those days – rather than continue on in the more rootsy direction that they had developed from. They've also recognised the great commercial benefit that the direction from management brought to them. Tom has seemed pretty genuine about what he's doing in recent years. Rod Stewart, what?
  6. Well I suppose that's the direction that the current engines are in.
  7. Do clogs count as slip-ons? Traditional, simple, robust, over-sized, lumpen and prone to woodworm. Perfect. Room for 'improvement' with the addition of leather uppers, laced, of course.
  8. I don't know. That all seems very complicated, for Guzzi. I'm thinking they should just go into the walking shoe business. Lace-up of course.
  9. This could be the next online revolution and if the idea is adopted and I play things right, it could make me a multi-billionaire: though I might have to share with Greg Field. His notion that a Forum is best without any sub-forums / sub-categories has got me thinking. If it's good for a Forum, couldn't it be even better for the whole online experience? No more complicated, incomprehensible, spidery Web: Instead, just a nice neat World Wide List. No in-nunerable plethora of separate web-sites: just one address, so you don't even need to use an address – you're just there. One World - One Site at last, equality for all across the planet, no less. Before I say too much... who wants to buy in?
  10. And it has arrived safely here in Maine. Working on plans for its future deployment. Building a trailer to take it to the Rally? If only they still made bikes with sidecar lugs, like back in the twenties & thirties. Put a wheel on one side of the Axone, bolt it up to the moto cycle. Combo to go.
  11. No. It's only Americans who do that.
  12. Yes, I do believe that you can perform a full engine strip-down, maintenance and tune-up procedure while still riding one of those singles. Those were the days.
  13. ... so with this at least we're back to the topic Hubert what: you mean that the dictator has spoken - so it's fine now
  14. Yes. the categories make sense and they make it easier to find topics according to their subject matter and to follow topics. Although questions or subjects sometimes get posted in the wrong forum (usually technical questions) the defined categories make it more likely that an answer will be given, sometime, to a question/problem and that an ongoing or mysterious problem will be worked at and returned to from time to time.
  15. Hey I dodge the pies these days! But I am looking forward to an uitsmijter in Sibbe! My definition of an engine is something that pisses oil on my garage floor and takes all my cash. I meant to edit the definition in that post. Edited now.
  16. New JRT Driving Test Amendment 2010 (Basic Motor Explanation) has been deemed a failure after the time taken to complete a test jumps to six hours and examiners proclaim, 'We'd rather boil our heads'. "I'll tell you what they found in Italy"... http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=fTMACVw0RNo
  17. GM You get your driving licence PR You don't
  18. Stock, yes. Quick search of web shows another experience: "Obviously, we had a random electrical fault with our test bike-a simple blown indicator bulb caused minor mayhem on the ever-so slightly tacky dash when it felt like it, but easy to remedy." The display thing was showing again today, as per usual, however all indicator lights continue to work.
  19. So a description of a basic engine could be something like: Guzzirider + pie = steam + work (lift a beer) + exhaust Simple, but hardly a thing of beauty. I should have specified, The Basics of A Beautiful Engine. Was talking to someone today who was telling me how advanced and far ahead of its time his Sport is/was. And no, I don't mean a V11 Sport or a Sport 1200. I mean a single cylinder unit with one oil system for the whole bike with minimal but visible moving parts.
  20. Display symbols that may appear on the Griso dash. While I'm used to the little red warning triangle often flashing on while riding, the lightbulb symbol with an X though it and an arrow pointing to the left is now regularly appearing. The strange thing is that all the indicator lights are working, when switched on.
  21. You see, JR: this engine business is more difficult than you thought.
  22. Academic, yes, but it is also a question about the future customers of Moto Guzzi, if the factory is to continue to sell bikes. Of course, maybe they should just jump straight to battery power. At least we are used to big, heavy, lumpy, motive plants: so it wouldn't look so wrong.
  23. C'mon guys, step up to the mark. JRT first...
