  1. Hi, i would like some advice please as to the correct fitment of the STANDARD Guzzi Cans fitted to me 2004 V11 Le mans. The query revolves around the exhaust can Hanger brackets which are bolted to the cans and as to which side of the actual Bike hanger bracket they are supposed to be fitted. I can see that the Exhaust can fitted to the right hand side of the bike ( when seated on it ) has a bracket which has a larger bend in it causing it to extend further away from the bike than the left hand side can which has a bracket with a smaller throw. See Photos. As a result , if i fit both of the exhaust cans to the inside edge of the Bike hanger bracket the exhaust are no longer symetrical or equidistant from the wheel. Am i supposed to leave the right hand side can on the inside of the bike hanger and the left hand side to the outside? This would even things up a bit but it still seems strange. NONE of the exhaust can brackets have ever been removed or reversed and the bike has never been dropped. Cheers Darryl
  2. Thanks haydn, i saw page 32 earlier but was not sure what the £20 covered so presumably £20 gets me camping and access to entertainment etc for the weekend? If so sounds great. Darryl

  5. Hi Guy's, new to the V11 clan so can someone give me a run down on dates, times, admission, camping facilities and format of meet please. I live in North East England and fancy a few days away on the Le Mans. Cheers Darryl
  6. I needed a spare key cutting for my 2004 Le Mans as i only got one key with it. The key had no numbers on so i contacted Elaine at TWIGGERS and she informed me of a BRILLIANT new service that they are offering. http://www.twiggersmotorcycles.co.uk/ Take a couple of GOOD QUALITY close up photo's of your original key and e mail it to them. Their cutter will make you one from these photos. I did this, this week, and today my new key at £7.95 plus P+P turned up and works fine. I just wish Twiggers were closer to me as the level of service that i have received so far has been second to none as well as being very pleasant. Cheers Darryl

  8. I think we have all probably had to endure Jackass comments at some time. Last year whilst out on my California EV, i parked it in Helmsley, North Yorkshire. One guy who was sat nearby said loudly, if you have to have something like that to ride around on why not do it properly and at least buy a Harley? I replied " Because i am not into American Agriculture and besides where would i keep the plough ? I then said, " You know, My grandfather taught me never to argue with an idiot as they will only drag you down to their level and then comprehensively beat you with experience " What a wise man he was Darryl
  9. On the advice of members from Moto Guzzi GB owners club i ordered new relays from Pyro Dan in the states. http://www.dpguzzi.com/ Quality of product and service, price and speed of delivery were superb. Bear in mind i live in England! I got my first set when my 99 Cali EV did exactly the same to me 350 miles from home. Replaced the relays and it's been great since. I am ordering a full set from him for my 2004 V11 Le mans as a matter of course. Regards Darryl
  10. Hi, I live in North East England and currently own a 2004 V11 Le Mans and a 99 Cali EV

  11. Wanted Hepco and Becker panniers + frame/rack for 2004 V11 Le Mans. Would be happy with just the frame/rack if no panniers available. The bike shown below is not my bike but this is the H+B rack assembly i am ideally looking for:- If anyone has another dedicated V11 Le Mans luggage system other than H+B that would be suitable then by all means contact me with details. Cheers Darryl
  12. Well, while the weather is poor i thought i would grease all 3 points on the driveshaft on my 04 V11 Le Mans. I bought a small Hilka grease gun for £8.99p and reading the threads modified one tube attachment by heating it at one end until cherry red and the bending it to cater for limited access to the front UJ nipple ( zerk) . This gave me a steep bend and i then ground things down a little to further improve access. I jacked the bike up until the rear wheel was off the ground and this gave me good access even with the wheel in place. Everything went well and starting at the back, working forwards, about 15mins later all was done with each uj giving that lovely crack as fresh grease was forced through. Understandably i was feeling very smart arsed about the whole thing It then took me nearly an hour to get the grease gun disconnected from the front nipple, it just wouldn't budge and lack of space hampered things even further. Sorted now but there's always something just waiting to kick you in the gonads!!!!!! Darryl
  13. Thanks Michael. I will forget that idea then. Cheers Darryl
  14. Hi, i seem to remember some mention of this modification whereby Honda VFR clip ons are used in place of the Moto Guzzi ones on a 04 Le Mans. Are the fork tube clamps on the Honda Bars the exact correct size and are the control tubes correct for the Guzzi controls? Lastly is it the bars from the earlier VFR 800 that is used. ( pictures of them fitted would be greatly appreciated ) Many thanks Darryl
  15. SORTED!!!! I removed the tank and then the little plastic cover in front of it which bolts onto the headstock. I then taped the clutch lever into the " Pulled in" position and attempted to start the bike. Same result , ie depending on where the handlebars were pointing it would either turn over or not. I then put the bars into a NON START position and began wiggling the various multiblock connectors on both sides of the central frame tube. RESULT! The multiblock which is on the left ( viewed as if riding ) under said black cover by headstock was where the problem lay as moving it would immediately activate the starter. I pulled it apart, checked all leads on female/male for integrity and the used contact cleaner on them. I then rerouted them so as to take all of the tension out of the block when the bars were moved, reassembled them and tied the block in place with cable ties and sealed both outer ends with vaseline. Hopefully that should be it. This particular block cuts all power to starter system when pulled apart so is obviously the culprit. Bike all back together again now and a happy chappy. Thanks Darryl
  16. Jesus Christ mate, i am severely hetrosexual but if i could give you a kiss right now i would. After reading your rely i went back to the garage and tried pressing starter again and NOTHING. Then immediately tried technique that you said and INSTANT BINGO!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! So Rossi my friend where do i look next to make sure i rectify the problem? Why did that work and where is the problem BIG THANKS DAZ
  17. Hi, just want to pick everyones brains please. I bought a 2004 Le Mans last week and the bike has always strated first time . 2 days ago i washed the bike off, leathered it down and put it away in the garage. Went to start it today and i get the normal fuel pump whir BUT with the bike in neutral, sidestand up and clutch pulled in, when i press the starter button NOTHING happens. No click clunk nothing. The kill switch is operating smoothly and is in the start position On my Cali EV i had the infamous click no start so ordered a full set of relays from Pyro dan and that bike has been bomb proof since. Thinking it could be the relays, i took all of them out of the Le mans and replaced them with the ones borrowed from the Cali. All fuses have been checked and are intact. Still no change, exactly the same. I have pushed the plunger in and out on the sidestand switch and am now wondering if the neutral switch could be faulty ( the light works correctly ). I only used a hose not a pressure wash and even then it was on spray so i wouldnt have thought i could have damaged anything BUT it seems an awfully big coincidence that this has happened after washing the bike. Any help would be greatly appreciated. Cheers Darryl
