  1. So, does everyone who runs a PCIII disconnect it every time they set the TB's and TPS? From what I've read here, this balancing needs to be done fairly often, every 2 years or so. Seems like you would want to have the bike running on the fuel map that has been "tuned" to work with the existing components. AFAIK, I don't think you need to disconnect the PC3 in order to balance the TB's and set the TPS. I would set everything how you plan on running it. I have a VDST on order, and it should arrive soon, then I'll figure out how to use it to set the TPS. I'm on the south side of Milwaukee, and you're more than welcome to come down and use it anytime. I'll be gone this week (Lake Michigan circle tour), but should be back by the weekend. I also have carb sticks for the TB balance. PM me offline if you're interested. 2. I had no idea they made a cable repair kit. Already purchased a new cable from MG Cycle and had it the next day. I tried searching for this, but it's hard to sort thru years of posts. I figured a newer post would help any new owners (like me). Ken
  3. Long story short-My speedo cable tip broke off inside the gear drive section in the speedo housing. Had to drill a small hole into the tip and then I could extract it. Why did it break? When I pulled off the rubber cable boot at the speedo, the cable fell off-it was not screwed in place. Obviously the tip of the cable sheared off at some point when the cable started working it's way loose. Lesson learned here: Check your speedo cables and lube them. Ken
  4. Got one. Thanks everybody. Don't know how to delete the posting. Looking for a center stand for my 2001 V11 Sport. Needs to be for the short frame bike. Ken
  5. Howdy! Figured I would introduce myself here. I'll be picking up a 2001 V11 Sport on Friday. This will be the 4th Guzzi that I have owned. I currently have a 2009 V7C and in the past had a 1980 V50 and a 2007 Griso 1100. I really can't wait to pick it up since I've been looking for one for a few years now. Here's a pic of the bike I'll be getting. Ken Welcome Ken! It looks like you're buying our moderator JRT's bike. Congrat's on finding a well sorted and cared for V11. Have fun with it. I can't wait to pick up the bike! Talking to him on the phone, he's obviously a great guy. I've been looking for a good V11 for a few years now, but I've never been able to make it happen. I looked at a 2002 V11 last year in Milwaukee. The owner hadn't changed the oil since it's first service. The front brake pads were good, but the rears were metal on metal contact (rookie rider?) He also had a nail in the rear tail for the past 4 years-he never repaired or replaced it. He just filled it with air when needed. No recalls were done on it either-he even showed me the recall notices he received. Passed on that bike in a hurry. Ken
