  1. Txrider, I have put my poor 04 Ballabio through many tuning settings. I found the best setup is what the Moto Guzzi manual states. (Go figure After this is set up I reconnect everything and set the idle to 3.4 degrees on the diagnostic software. This is equivilant to 425mv on my bike. The second item I found to be critical to getting my bike running smoothly was to re-synch the throttle rod going between the throttles. On mine it was off making it impossible to get the throttles synched at anything but one RPM setting. The bike now idles at 1050 +-50rpm with the idle bypass screws open 1/4 turn. Randy
  2. Do you know if this windshield will also fit the Ballabio, Coppa Italia, and Cafe Sport? I've never seen the carbon fiber accessory screen for the sport naked in person to be able to compare. Randy
  3. Very good! I'm on a continual lookout for a good used set. Someday.... or maybe I'll just have to suck it up and buy new. Been looking for long time at lot of different brands but I really like the look and sound of those. Randy
  4. Also check out the headlight protective material from Aerostich. This is VERY thick plastic that adheres to the glass so nothing gets behind it. Practically invisible and it works well. Good price too. Randy
  5. Does anyone have the MG ti cans with the stock footrest hangars? I love the look and sound but I have the Hepco and Becker bags on my Ballabio and need the clearance the regular mounts provide. I have never seen a picture with the regular mounts used. A while back the consensus was they would work but now I'm wondering if they will fit securely. Randy

    Bright lights

Lee, Check out this thread, http://www.v11lemans.com/forums/index.php?...82&hl=Headlight I have the PIAA bulb in my Ballabio and really like the way it works. Not super noticeable on dry days from the riders seat but other drivers see you better I think. When I first got the bike I thought it was cursed or something, never had so many people pull out in front of me or make left turns in front of me. I was just thinking a few weeks ago while riding that I haven't had anyone do that to me in recent memory. From the riders seat though the best effect comes from riding at night in the rain. The color of the light from the bulb does a much better job of cutting through the wet road surface than the older "yellower" light. Randy
  7. Thanks for scoop Lee, We were planning on the fish market this morning but after running ourselves around for the last few days we overslept...oh well, maybe later this week. As for the food, I can totally agree! The dinner we has last night at a Shabu-Shabu place in the Takashima Times Square was unbelievable . It doesn't look like too much food but there are so many courses that I was stuffed. Today...BikeTown! Randy
  8. Thats good to hear, the Hard Rock is on our list of places to drop by. So far we've found the subways and trains here amazingly easy to navigate...the addresses (or lack thereof) on the other hand not so much... Unfortunately we are leaving the day the Auto Show starts Oh well. Going to try and drop by a dealer today...Fukuda Motors. Thanks for the links Paul, unfortunately for the first one we won't be able to get down to Yokohama this trip...bummer, looks like a lot of great accessories. Randy
  9. Very good! I think I know what that area is. There are a few blocks on the map up in the Ueno area marked "Motorcycle town." I'll have to drop by there. I talked with a BMW dealer that also sells Guzzi and have the address to that dealership as well. Lots of bikes around here but haven't seen a single Guzzi yet. Thanks, Randy
  10. Hi all, I'm going to be in Tokyo for the next week or so and was wondering if anyone knows of any dealers or other places with some good swag to pick up. Specifically Guzzi of course, but BMW and Honda stuff too for some family and friends of mine would be great as well. Thanks, Randy
  11. It looks like they are different part numbers for the Sport: 03 74 0540, the Lemans series: 32 740 0510, and the Ballabio: 32 74 0410. (All USA light numbers) Don't know if they really are different or if this is just a way to charge different amounts. Randy
  12. Hmm...that's a bummer. I had planned to go the BMW route the next time I needed a headlight. Didn't realize it was the lens only. I guess I'll order some of this Aerostich stuff up again. It seemed to work well on my old headlight. Does nothing to prevent ham fisted mechanics like me from breaking the back of the headlight though.... Randy
  13. Check with Moto International...I had to pick one up there a few months ago. Unfortunately I broke mine putting a new bulb in not riding it Be very carefull with the little plastic tabs that the spring holding the bulb in hook over. They are very easily broken off resulting in throwing away then entire lens housing. At least it wasn't as expensive as I expected...about $145 if I remember correctly...not cheap but not as bad I expected. Randy
  14. Sounds like you and I were fighting the same battle at the same time and both came up with the same solution at the same time....Although I beat you by a few weeks! I too discovered that doing EVERYTHING disconnected on each TB is the key to getting the balance spot on. I was fighting an issue that no matter how well the TBs were synched at one rpm, whether it be idle or 2000 or 3500...it would be out of synch somewhere else. By taking the time to adjust the length of the rod between the two throttles, it really is possible to get it within 1/2 on the Twin Max throughout the rev range. Randy
  15. Martin, They are kind of fiddly but on mine, I found that if I push the hoses TOWARD the tank connectors while simultaneously pushing the grey ring AWAY from the connector (toward the hose or front of the bike), the ring will move a fraction of an inch. Once it does this you can continue to apply pressure on the ring while reversing pressure on the hose and the hose *should* slide off the connector. It sounds weirder than it is. Once it works for you it will make sense from then on. I've done it a couple times since then and it has worked fine. The connectors themselves actually seem fairly sturdy once the hoses were off and I could look at them. If done right though, you will really not be applying any pressure to the connectors at all...just the grey ring and the hoses. Do plan on gas leaking out of the connectors though if your tank is over half full. Randy
  16. From what I understand, the little plastic thing is actually the barometric pressure sensor. On the 15M, the fuel trim is controlled by the dealer software. It is available at http://www.technoresearch.com/Products/VDS...S-Motorbike.htm Randy
  17. It may be a no-brainer for everyone here and I'm probably the last to figure this out...but I found the key to getting the throttle bodies balanced on my bike was to adjust the throttle linkage rod on the opposit side from the white adjustment knob first. I found myself with a situation where no matter how hard I tried...If I balanced the throttle bodies at idle, it would be off at all other rpms. I could only get it balanced at one RPM setting, all others would be off. It turned out the adjustment the factory made on the linkage was wrong. After scraping off the yellow paint I spent a good amount of time carefully balancing the throttle bodies with the linkage disconnected first only using the adjustment hex screws, then setting the rod to the correct length so that it would not change the adjustment at idle but would also be balanced at 3000, 4000, and 5000 rpms. It was super sensitive, and took many tries but now on the Twin Max, from idle to 5000 rpm the needle never goes past 1/2 in either direction at maximum sensitivity. Before if it were balanced at 3000, it would be at left 3 or so at idle. The bike runs sooo much better now that it is hard to believe that it's the same engine. My mirrors are actually usable at highway speeds! Incidently other settings on my bike are: 3.6 degrees of throttle at idle. By pass screws at 1/4 turn out. Idle at 1050 to 1100. Fuel trim at +17. Idle CO at 4.5 to 5% (not sure how accurate this is...old gas analyzer machine used...)
  18. Thanks for the info. I emailed them a price quote request today. Randy
  19. Thanks jrt. I had to look at your photo again. I didn't even realize they were the rounds. They look bigger than the carbon fibre rounds I've seen. I too want the ovals (for appearance only...my riding style won't take advantage of any extra clearance they offer ) and the only place I've seen them is in the Agostini catalog. No idea yet on the price though... Randy
  20. Not to hijack this thread..but JRT, are those the titanium or aluminum Mistrals on your bike? I've been looking for something that looks like that but don't really want to pay the MG Ti prices. Good work Edge! If this part B is anything like your first bit then It'll work perfectly. Randy
  21. It's good to hear mine is not the only one I had managed over time to dial it out with a PCIII only to get it back when I opened up the airbox. I haven't had the time to work on the map since I've done this to get rid of the pinging again. Mine pings mostly on opening the throttle full at 4000rps or so and every now and agian at higher speeds but under a load like up a long hill or heavy headwind. Randy
  22. Hi Edge, I recieved your part today...Very professional looking job! With a quick lookover, it appears that it will fit the Ballabio just fine. Unfortunately I won't be able to get a chance to put it on until next week though. I will post some pics when I get it installed. Thanks again, Randy
  23. Was looking at the TSB topic going on right now. http://www.v11lemans.com/forums/index.php?showtopic=4967 The TSB for the Pawl Spring is showing: "Solution: In case of breakage of the pawl spring (A) in vehicles with frame numbers before KT111435 - KS112350, the pawl (B.) should be changed (when asking for the spare part, you automatically receive the pawl updated version)." Not sure about the frame numbers listed...My VIN is ZGUKTC0204M111226. Does this mean that if I cut it down it would be KT111226? And if so I guess the TSB applies? I'll have to call Moto International and see if they can preemptively fix this I guess. Has anyone had this fix done prior to it breaking and if so was it covered by MG? Randy
  24. Hmm...another one of those constant Guzzi changes? My 04's ECU is turned upside down from those. The rubber pegs it sits on are high enough to let the wiring harness clear the plate underneath. Randy
  25. Thanks guys, Guess I'm outta excuses now! Better order one up... Randy
