  1. Jon, I,m quite happy with the stock MG bag,use a good carnuba wax prior to putting it on. Although i,m not a fan of the strap type bags these do not scratch or scuff the tank and can carry quite alot of stuff. Wish you well with your new toy!!! Chris
  2. RACERX, You've got quite the great bike.!! I would take v50mans advice . I've had very good dealings with Rick/Gordon from MG Cycle. DON'T LISTEN to all the naysayers about this model ,single plate clutch, skittersness, bullsh*t.I run my rosso hard, love surprising youngings at stops, God your old!! Had hair till last couple off years. This bike is a lot of fun. Chris
  3. YOHOOO BOY !!! Wecome to the fold,I'm in Danbury CT. Would be a kick in the ass to meet with you and Ouiji Veck and woever is in that area.LETS RIDE!! Chris, rossoctx@yahoo.com
  4. Jason, Congrats!! Best wishes to you and your family. Chris
  5. Try taking the bars and banging them from left to right against the frame stops, theres a cluster of connections under the tank that pick up crud after a while. You may have to take these apart, clean, a little dielectric grease should be good to go . Good Luck!
  6. I've got a Rosso Mandello and I love it!! The color is unique, carbon fiber goodies all stock. With that said its not without a few minor issues. There was a transmission recall on the shifter sleeves, hopefully this was fixed under warranty,a few also had bubbling paint on some motors just a cosmetic thing doesn't bother me.As Jim and Rich says the Coppa does have the upgraded suspension.Keep this in mind these bikes love to be ridden hard and its so good for the soul.Is price going to be a factor?used bike verses newer etc.Again these bikes are definitely head turners and that sweet sound no other bike has!Good Luck
  7. OH MAN!!!!! IS THERE A BIKE FOR YOU! ON WILDGUZZI.COM GO TO CLASSIFIEDS,BROWSE, ABOUT 1/3 OF THE WAY DOWN, A 2001 ROSSO MANDELLO IS FOR SALE. THEY ARE SO SHARP, VERY, VERY UNIQUE. ITS A NUMBERED EDITION (#45) WITH 750 MILES ,TRANNY RECALL DONE.MAYBE SOMETHING YOU MIGHT WANT TO LOOK INTO! I GET SO MANY COMPLIMENTS ON MINE ITS A HEAD TURNER! GOOD LUCK!!!!
  8. HI GUYS!,My tachometer just shit the bed on my 01 Rosso.Any ideas on where to look?
  9. Freeman, I would suggest a slight pressure under the shift lever(a slight preload) this should help.Good luck!
  10. Gentlemen, bring your gages to a calibration house, anybody in manufacturing knows all your tools need to be calibrated. Done deal!
  11. THE GUYS AT MG CYCLE ARE REALLY GREAT TO DEAL WITH. THE STUCCHI X-OVER I GOT FIT FINE ON THE LEFT SIDE BUT THE GUYS AT STUCCHI MUST HAVE GONE OUT FOR THE THREE MARTINI LUNCH! THE RIGHT SIDE ANGLED OUT THREE OR MORE INCHES FROM THE EXHAUST BRACKET,A LITTLE MUSCLE AND I GOT IT TO FIT .IN THE YEAR SINCE INSTALLING THE HEAT FROM THE PIPES BASICALLY STRESS RELEIVED THE X-OVER.GOOD LUCK,I WOULD HIGHLY SUGGEST YOU SEE JOHN T @ DYNO SOLUTIONS AND TWEAK WITH A POWER COMMANDER.HE MADE MY ROSSO RUN LIKE A BEAR! THAT DIP @ 4K GONE WITH A SIX HORSEPOWER GAIN THERE,THE BIKE IS MUCH MORE RIDEABLE NO HESITATION OR ANY HICCUPS AT ALL JUST A FLAT OUT RUNNER. YOU WON'T BE DISSAPOINTED!SEE YOU @ MARCUS

David, Try Mike Rich Motorsports he's got lots of hi performance goodies(hi comp pistons, valves, guides, cams, ---etc.)Oh by the way he does great head work just ask John T.
  13. Slug, Todd @ Guzzi Tech explained this quite well its in technical topics under the thread ECU. Good Luck
  14. Definitely have to agree with Jim, outside the usual little annoyances once their delt with, youv'e got a kickass ride, and unique to boot .In a crowd you'll get lots of complements. If the price is right go for it!
  15. WOW!!, I don't know while being a realist with the dealers blind faith, I found my local MG dealer had such a turn over in help(some guys where real good ) me thinks dealer f*cked up. HOWEVER, John T being such the Guzzi GUY @ Dyno Solutions @com, resolved all that stalling bullshit, the unrideability, the choopy nonsence when you let off the throttle and go to get back on, not only did I gain horsepower(4-6) in the 4k dip I got the confidence back in my skills that the bike needed the teeking not me . With this said IF you find a confident tuner there should be many out there, I don't think doing it yourself is always the best bet .John nailed it on pretty much the first or second go around( what I mean about that is that he teeked it before i rode it ) the fucking bike runs GREAT !!I'm on the rev limiter most times now ! With this said the guys out in EAST BUMFUCK . Hang in there I think there are very qualifield people that you can get this info from and or get them to email this to you (map etc.) We have a GREAT FORUM with many opinons strong and other wise. When you find the right tuner you'll know , we'll find you with the puckerd asshole and big smile!! Front wheel up where it should belong . May your forks always point to good fortune. LRB rossoct.

Erik, I hope your not that dissatisfied,I too had some issues with the Stucchi x-over the front tubes fit perfect the back right flared the can away from the bracket by three inches with some persuasion and locktight after seven months of heat cycles the gap now is only1/4 inch or so.I suspect that the performance hopefully will override the quality issues. As the packing wears the sound gets sweeter & sweeter it definitely turns heads and just runs fantastic. With this said its a must to get the ECU remapped.Go have some great rides!
  17. Just my 2$. I went with the FBF ovals, Stucchi xover.FBF lidless air filter, WHO HA! The sound is positively beautiful. Performance improved, however you need to do some tweeking to the ECU (get it remapped) you'll be thrilled! All the previous comments from forum members are right on. Enjoy your purchase and the ride!
  18. Frank great pics. Sean I have the FBF air kit I'm very pleased with it.The fit and finish were great, makes everything clean under the tank. I also went with the Stucchi X-over and FBF carbon ovals, the ovals came through with no badges or riveted nameplates there also 1/3 lighter @1/3 shorter. However with that said I did have to have the ECCs remapped, but it was well worth it the bike really rips!Just my 2 cents.
  19. Hi!, Has anyone had any experience with the Metzeler M1's or Continentals new Conti-Road Attack? Any feedback would be great, as I am in dire need of tires. Thanks

Lovell, My 01 Rosso made some unusual noises (pinging/valve float type). It did this after I changed to a FBF lidless air, Stucchi X-over,FBF carbon ovals, however after I had the ECU remapped all this went away, I surmise that it was WAY lean. Waiting for JohnT to get his dyno setup and add a power comander then we'll really rip.Good Luck! There's plenty of talented people on this forum to give you tips.
  21. Try Harper's Moto Guzzi or Joe Kenny, you can get Joe's website through guzzitech.com. One of these should fit the bill. Good Luck!
  22. Jap,A few weeks ago someone addressed this issue in particular the Rosso Mandello color. He found the original paint supplier for Guzzi somewhere in Europe, they also had a Canadian distributor that had codes and knew the process.Pardon me for being so vague(brain cells shot)Maybe this will help.
  23. HI, Just my 2 cents, I also have a Rosso, and have asked the dealer what the paint code was, of course he said any good paint shop could match that no problem, somedays thats not the answer you want to hear.Al has the best advice so far, however I was bored one day and started on page 69 and worked backwards, on page 36 somebody opened a thread on this. He found a manufacter that supposedly has a paint code, but again if the manf. is no longer available it might be a moot point. Good Luck!
  24. Enzo For what its worth in the Feb.2004 issue of Sport Rider they do a comprehensive suspension setup guide even has good pics. Good luck!
