I watched the info on it at jaylenosgarage.com

and they seem like the real deal and stated from stock it is nearly as good as CF brakes but only as expensive as stock replacements, no warping, no over heating, and way less unsprung weight, seems perfect for the sportbike market what average harley guys gonna give two sh*ts about these?

this seems prime for the sportbike, cafe, sport touring market, but HD's? I bet it would also help our beasts stop quicker, I'm impressed but I wonder the costs or difficulty of getting them for brembo, I know if I had to replace mine I'd try and go with these.

I had the same question. WTF? One thing about composite brake components. They've always needed complete warm up for optimum performance. Not so good for street use. I wonder if whey came up with something new to bite better when cold.

I put BrakeTech Axis ductile iron rotors on my bike. They're ighter than the stock stainless and have a wonderful progressive feel with the stock Brembo pads. Only one problem with iron though, if you ride in the rain and put her away wet, they are rusty in the morning.

Pretty clearly silicon carbide in an aluminum matrix from their own description at the 1st site [second link is N/F, btw.] Key words "silicon carbide" ''60% lighter than stainless steel" "anodized gray" & "shed heat 5x faster than steel discs."

Only problem is aluminum gets weak as it gets hot [maybe why they're marketing these to H-D owners: not as likely to be continuously heavy on the brakes on a twisty road, the way sport bikes are, heavier stock componentry to start with so the wt. savings is more appealing, known to spend $$ on bling & unsubstantiated "performance" cr@p for their rides], so I'd want to see some pretty severe product testing before relying on them.

If they start OEM'ing the ZTL rotors for Erik Buell, I'll take'em seriously. Until then, maybe I can get MCN (U.S.) to do a product test that will tell us the truth about them... ;)

  • 3 years later...

I've got 54K miles on the Nero, the original front pads and discs are getting low. Since I'm starting to scout out options I came across this topic. Clicking on the w8lessbrakes.com link brought me to another link Matrix

Looking around the site, they basically say Harleys only...I'll email and see what they say.

I haven't seen any other chatter on these...anybody have knowledge/experience with them? Rather interesting. :huh2:
