Well...what to say? I'm Peter, 46 years old an after a breef harley dream moment i stumbled some 20 years ago on guzzi and stayed there!

Have the problem of not loving original so thats why my bikes are never finished! I'm here for the Guzzi feeling, the info etc but have no v11. I do have to 6 gears in my own build bike and the ''quota'' and a centauro 97 coming. Further i have a norge 08 that i'm repairing after a crash but that will not stay! Hope to have a nice time here gents!

Sorry..dont have much pics on this pc...

Welcome Peter.

Love the Netherlands,it's people and culture  Us Yanks could learn a thing or two from ya'll.

This is the best place for V11S info if you decide to go that way.The Sports are going for cheap now but that'll change with the world economy improving in the next few years and supply will shrink.Get 'em while you can!

Thanx Michael! One always looks at the other for where they live and how great it is and sure Holland is a good place to live....in general its a bit crowded but thats relative in compare to new york or LA....compared to that amsterdam is a small city...in the US you have space, we miss that! And culture...thats in the people? But ok...i'm drifting away...v11? a beautiful timeless machine like offcourse only Guzzi can make and already made with several older machines like the v7 sport and older but thats not my thing...the realy older i mean. The V11 is an icon and a saviour for guzzi!

Welcome, Peter. Lots of V11 owners here also run older & newer Guzzis. I have Tontis & V11 & if I had the money would probably have a CARC bike too. There's sections for old ( http://www.v11lemans.com/forums/index.php?showforum=37 ) & new ( http://www.v11lemans.com/forums/index.php?showforum=36 ). I like this forum, loads of different attitudes & interests, members all over the world, & mostly get on. Jaap does a great job with it. I often wish it was a bit less model-specific in name, cos it's very quiet, but then that's what it is! But great to see non-V11 Guzzi enthusiasts here.

Welcome Peter,:bier:

Don't worry, the non-original disease is quite widespread. I've just joined after getting my V11 - with the intent of dropping the spare V10 motor I have on the bench into it! Seems like you have already done this so I will probably want to pick your brains..... Build starts early november.

...and let me chime in and welcome you onbord. mijn heer :cheese:

Sounds like we've gone down the same road as I also had a spell with the ingenuity from Milwaukee. Took me some 16 years to get out of the hibernation until I saw the crystal clear light from Mandello del Lario... well, you know what I mean. Still madly in love with the tranverse V2 engine and I really cannot see any other replacement - my Scura is a keeper until social health care workers drop me in the coffin.

Good luck with the Centauro and keep us posted - you're never alone and there is always someone out there who can give you a helping hand/piece of advice when needed. And it works both ways.

All the best

Søren

Thanx Soren (sorry..have no clue how to get the different O?) You have a friendly face if i look at your pic ;) and you discribe the guzzi feeling perfectly! To explain why this old lump of metal does so much for me? but i just enjoy all off it...the improving, changing...the shake when revving the gas...and on!

With the 82 crank of a cali instead of the 78 or 80 of the daytona. The pistons are ducati 1198 and the stock barrels yes with a cast iron liner! And then there's the topping on that what will stay a little mystery for a while longer! The handy man who is reworking my heads claims 140 a 150 nm ( even withoud the mystery topping)...no clue what that will be in american or english? If i calculated it correct it would be 1400 cc?
