Martin Barrett
I suppose they are what Americans term a Levee as in "when the levee breaks" (Led Zep) Where " I drove my Chevy to the levee but the levee was dry.Them good ol' boy were drinkin' whiskey and rye"( Don Mclean). See I did " learn more from a 3 minute record than I ever did at school"(Bruce Springsteen) My lasting memory of last years International V11 meeting was 25 assorted V11s going across the dike tops. Splendid view. Yes I was towards the back. The dike roads were a new experiance. Strange because the shoulders of the road drop down out of sight. Where I'm used to verges and hedgerows. The picture doesn't really illustrate it, as taken at a village where the road is a little wider, and the drop away not quite so steep. But the road joining from the left gives a slight flavour.
