I have a 2002 Lemans. I am looking into putting on Convertibars on the bike. At $300 I am wondering if anyone has these bars and if they are happy with them or have heard anything? http://www.convertibars.com/FitYourBikeDetail.cfm

Also, I just purchased the MRA Touring Winscreen for my Lemans. It lifts the windscreen about 2-3 inches and in the picture it looks great. Has anyone put one on their Lemans? Are you satified? <_<

I have the Convertibars on my 2001 V11 Sport.

Pros: Comfort, I have the bars back about 3" (~75 MM) and up about half that. The difference is amazing, my bad left wrist and hand are no longer painful for days after a few hours of riding.

Cons: More vibration, I have the "heavy" Throttlemiesters and have filled as much of the bars as possible with lead, it doesn't have much high frequency vibration left but there is a noticeable throb.

All in all I'm happy but the Convertibars are not perfect. They are just better, for me, then stock. If I had it to do over again I might go with the Convertibars or I might drill the top clamp for Tonti frame bar mounts and then use something like an R90S bar to get about the same position without the vibration.

I have the convertibars set up and they work great. Huge range of adjustment, though if you want to get to the highest position, you'll need the longer hoses.

Re: vibration. The mirrors shake more than with the clip ons, though there's no guarantee that any other bar set up would have any less vibration.

I have the Convertibars installed on a V11 Sport that I simply could not ride without them. Up 75mm back 75mm with new brake and clutch hoses. So much weight off my wrists that I do notice a bit more low frequency vibration but not objectionable. Look at manicsalamander.com for a wide array of bar weights for the Convertibars (1/3 price of Throttlemeister).

I would do it again (though I also bought some bar risers off of Ebay that could have been installed on the V11 for a lot less money).

BTW the bars look better on the bike than in the advertisement.

After much debate and too much analysis I installed the convertibars last summer to get a more upright position and found:

- They are very well made

- Easier to ride around town

- I can turn my head side to side w/o my helmet hitting a shoulder pad

- The steering seems quicker

- I can sit further back on the wide part of the seat.

- but I still find the riding position uncomfortable :(

If I had it to over again I'd do the same conversion as Jason has done as I think it looks better and works as well. I originally set out to do this but the allure of infinite adjustable over came my engineering brain ( or was it fear of commiment ? ) and I went with convertibars.

Anybody have a link with pics on the MRA windscreen? I have one on my K12S and love it. Is it higher?

Also, I have measured the Verhoelen bars I fitted to the K12S and I think they will work on the Goose. Thinking about trying it. Here's a link for them:

Just curious to know if you ever got the Verholen K1200S Bar Risers to fit ont he V11 Lemans? If so I am going to get them as well. They seem like a perfect solution. I hope they fit. Thanks

Here is a link to the place where I got my MRA screen

The screen is very high quality, goes on easily and works great, I installed a set of risers made by someone on this board, they are multi adjustable and work perfectly. Maybe if there is enough interest he will do another run,
