    Tekno Bags

I'm not so sure... Look at the pictures at the AF1Racing link. The bars that bags mount to appear to be the same diameter as what was on my Tekno mounts. Look closely and you will see that the top bar is smaller diameter than the bottom bar. The new Moto guzzi mounts also show this. The old mounts use plastic stops to locate the bag 'forward-back'. The new mounts pictured use different size tubing to accomplish this. Of course the 'final' word would be to try the new bags on the Tecko mounts. I haven't done that. To me, however, the plastic clips (on the bags) that are used to attach the bags to the mounts, look exactly like the ones on my Tekno bags.
  3. Glad you walked, er limped, away Dave... If you've made any upgrades you may want to consider putting the stock parts back on. It typically won't make any difference to the money you receive. A Power Commander for instance would be something that could easily be removed for your replacement V11 or sold to recoup some cash. Just an idea. Ron
  4. Al From reading the extensive list of mods you've made on the bike. I, personally, would find it difficult to replicate them on another bike. You've made your Guzzi fit you and your riding style. Looking back 4-5 years from now when said daughter is graduated, you may have realized that you didn't need to sell it. I hope this makes sense. Higher price. Link: http://www.af1racing.com/store/scripts/prodView.asp?idproduct=39066
  6. Removing the pan is not all that difficult and seems a bigger job than it is. Plus, in my case, it allowed me to wipe away the water & oil sludge that sticks to the insides due to poor water vapor management. Not that it's easy to wheel your bike into the closest Fingernail polish store, but fingernail polish comes in so many colors, I've found it's possible to get very good color matches. And, it comes with a brush too. Ron from the North-wet
  7. No mine was silver. Like docc's.
  8. Those hand guards look sharp.

    Tekno Bags

I've just posted a set up for sale in the classified section. I was going to use make some mounts and use them on my Stelvio. Decided to go an other way.
  10. Just sharing that my old V11 was fitted with Centaro foot controls. Very comfortable for trips.
  11. Just traded my 2000 V11 in for $3,250. Dealer had it listed for $3,995. 20k, very good condition, a few nice options.
  12. Center Stand - Early Frame 2000-2001 (Teo Lammers?) $150 + shipping I'll include the matching front support so that you can store the bike with both tires off the ground. I don't believe they are available any longer. I've seen installation instructions posted by Greg Field on this forum. Note: New they were $249 from Moto International per V11Lemans forums. Throwing in the matching front support to sweeten the deal. If you think the price is too high, let me know... I won't get mad.
  13. VA Sean, If you have a moment, could you please repost the photo. The link in the original photo is broken. thanks
  14. Thanks all for coming through with the helpful tips... I knew I could count on you all dlaing, Is this the same concept Eastern Beaver sells? I read about it in Motorcycle Consumer news a while back. It got a good review. docc, Is the copper/silver paste the same as the silver anti-seize I've been using on my spark plugs? I will get the sealed Omrons ordered. Install them with a zip-tie, a slight twist to the terminals and a dab of contact goop and I'll be good to go. Cheers Ron
  15. Thanks Guys... Did you go for the Sealed Omrons?
  16. I recently had a bout of NO-START and NO-LIGHTS-NO-TACH. Did the relay dance, but it took me a while to figure it out as two of the relays failed at the same time (I know... I know... go buy a lottery ticket). Thankfully, I ordered a couple of spares and all is well... for the moment... As as side comment... Couldn't have happened at a worse time as the wife was along for a ride, something she rarely does on the V11 with her bum knee. Ron says... "Really Honey, this never happenes. Wife says... "Remind me, Why did we ride the MG?" Back to the question... All my relays have been changed to GEI a couple of years ago. Are the Start & Light relays the ones that fail 1st? I've been reading about replacements... are the OMRON relays better? BTW... I followed this link that was associated with OMROM, but It indicates MGR-C20 & MGR-C20S Relays. Are these the same? Thanks Ron
  17. Don't know about the rack... but I have the Tekno bags and have been very pleased with them. Top speed tested to 135 mph (indicated)
  18. From post (Aug 30 2007)... http://www.v11lemans.com/forums/index.php?showtopic=12032 "I just spotted an advert for it in the MGNOC newsletter. Moto International advertises it at $249. "One model fits the early Sports with 170 rear tire, the other fits later Sports and V11s with 180 tire." Greg's number is 206-297-3822, email is parts@motointernational.com"
  19. John brings up a good point... So is anyone interested in a swap?
  20. I have a center stand that can't be used because of my Stucci crossover. I'm thinking... why not modify it into a shop stand. Doesn't look too hard with a weld here and there. What I don't know is how tall to make it. Can someone please measure theirs and let me know? I'm looking for the measurement from the ground to the bolt 'saddle'. TIA
  21. This may or may not help as I have a different tank bag. The front straps on my bag go around the frame steering head. between the top and botton fork mounts.
  22. Here's a V11 Sport with a different farring... V11 Super-Sport
  23. Here is a link for a little known Penske shock option offered by Traxxion Dynamics... It forgoes the remote reservoir for a substantial cost savings. I have one on my Superhawk... it works great. I haven't felt the need to add a reservoir (and I have had it three years). But I don't do track days either. I haven't checked to confirm a MG application. This is what Traxxion sez... This shock is the complete body assembly of an 8900 Series Penske Race Shock, but without the reservoir. It is spring preload, ride height, and rebound damping adjustable. At any time, the buyer can easily add either his/her choice of 8100 or 8700 reservoir should they decide to go racing or just want more performance. This shock comes equipped with the correct spring for your weight. Here is the URL for the $599.95 Sport shock... http://www.traxxion.com/store/detail.asp?product_id=SPORT
  24. It's taken me a while to get back to the V11... And a BIG thank you to the people that provided input. I just wanted to let you all know what was causing the "clunk". The envelope please... AND the winner is... Wheel Bearings! Congrats to Martin Barrett & Guzzi2Go. You guys nailed it. The Left side had a radial crack. I'd never seen that before. Thanks again.
