  1. Owing a MG V10 Centauro, Ive made a TPS-harness myself, I used Superseal 3 pin male and Female, see link: https://www.dkvolt.dk/produkt/superseal-stik-3-pin-er-et-vandtaet-stik-til-samling-af-ledninger/ Which fitted the OEM connectors 100 %. See photos. Greetings from DK Niels Knudsen.

  2. Got it sussed now! I eventually found the difficult to get at throttle stop screw. It's reading 80mV now, fully closed. Here is the TPS profile, showing the change in slope and the lack of any drop outs:

  4. Yes the starter from MGcycle will fit any v11 or Tonti frame big twin.

  9. My T3 project has been giving me fits so I haven’t had time to get to the v11. I want one more good start after she’s been sitting. But I feel like Docc you are probably right....again. The battery just needed a good heavy amp charge.

  10. Well today I got a KKL lead and despite being very cheap and not having the FTDI chip in, as advertised :-( , it worked perfectly. Set the TPS at 159mV, locked it off. Took out the air screws and cleaned them. They were very sooty... Put the balancer on. This was quite tricky to set as there is a bit of slack in the TB linkage. Need to sort that. Anyway, go it as close to balanced as I could. Then put GuzziDiag on and set the idle using only the lefthand throttle stop. Noticed the rev counter reads way low! At 1300rpm, it's showing about 500... Waited for the engine to warm up and then set the CO. It was set at -19, so set it to 0. Just taken her out to see what's what. Bloody hell! What a difference! Really pulls now and not a hint of missfire. My previous rides were a dissapointment as the bike didn't seem to be any more powerful than the 650cc training bikes I'd been riding. Now you can really feel that extra 30hp. The bike runs so nice. What a transformation.... So many thanks for everyone's help! Will progress getting a TPS breakout cable instead of using the pins method.

  11. Highway 1 from Morro Bay to Monterey has to be one of the most beautiful places on Earth. I've done a bit of Utah's 12 many years ago in a truck, and am looking forward to going all the way to Capitol Reef this time on the bike. Here's my plan. Want to come along? Roll out 5:30am Saturday - or meet for breakfast in 29 Palms. The 8 gallon tank on the Stelvio - and 40+ MPG on open roads - is perfect for these long desert crossings. Each page above is a bit less than 200 miles. The plan is to camp near Zion on Saturday night, but sadly, the road through Zion is closed for the whole month and I have to go around it. I plan to visit Great Basin National Park and Death Valley on the way home. Never crossed the middle of Nevada before. 12,000 foot tall mountains in Great Basin... some roads closed November to June.

  12. Thanks Meinolf. I have ordered a KKL lead with FTDI usb in. On further investigation, I have disconnected the TB linkage and backed out the throttle stop fully, made sure the fast idle cam is not touching and saw the TPS baseline drop from 375mV to 80mV. I now understand what's what! So I will set the TPS next and then do the balance.

  13. I went up to Carizzo Plain National Monument for the superbloom. After heavy rains, this valley is carpeted in flowers. Pictures can't do it justice... this goes on for about 50 miles by 30 miles wide. Now I am planning a ride to Utah on Stelvio, with as little freeway as possible. I have work there next Monday, so will take next weekend to go via Joshua Tree, Mojave National Preserve, Lake Mead, and few other minor roads into Southern Utah. The plan is to camp somewhere in Southern Utah, then take the amazing route 12 to Capitol Reef National Park. I'm having fun getting the Stelvio set up for solo-camping.

  14. They feel very different but equally exhilarating. V11 feels heavy like its moving along with the inertia of a freight train. The Norton feels very light and nimble. When at speed and wanting to punch it, the V11 has more ‘umpf’. Riding position on the Norton is superb. More upright, foot pegs are wider set and sitting feels very natural and no stress points even after a long ride. I highly recommend a modern Norton although it seems to have even more quirks than the V11. But a very solid online community exists for Norton owners which is something I was worried about when I got the bike because I had become used to having this forum so ready to help when issues came up. I think owning any specialty motorcycle these days without good online community support would be very difficult.

  15. To me it looks like a Bassa not EV. Or in later years (2001?) known as a special sport.. late to the party but what's all the discussion over what starter fits? Both the Tonti and V11 big twins use the same Valeo starter.

  16. Not totally, but I can only really afford to batch manufacture and I end up with money sitting ties up in something slow moving for an obsolete model. I want them to be available. I also want the thieves at Gutsibits to take it up the arse and if someone else makes them and gives a 'Royalty' to Medicienes sans Frontiers on top of a cut for them I'm all totally fine with it!

  18. I got one... had it since new, only one that ever made it down under, how it got here I dont know. With NZ made cans, smoked indercators and a tinted high lip screen its done me well with 35,000km on it. Hey anyone know how many of these things were built? Ok I tell a lie... its given me some shit, Injectors got out of wack, spring in the gear box broke and relay issues... ohh and hers a pic at a rally last year.
