  1. Well, the South'n SpineRaid is not really much of a "Guzzi Rally", but could be worthwhile if you don't mind seeing Goozie-guts scattered about the place . . . "Get There. Bring Tools."

  2. Nothing Pete. Scud sent me a few spares for this side of the pond to those in need. Ciao

  3. That's a possibility, It's funny, I'm only about 15mi. from Buena Vista Va. and there have been a few Guzzi rallies there before I moved down here from the DC area.

  4. Seems his daughter Vittorio has the B&B while Ago has opened his Trophy Room and is still passionate about his tifoso ("fans"). What a fine gentleman. Such a credit to the sport.

  5. The damper works fine as does the joint on the head of it. The joint that attaches to the forks has the play which, for some reason is only up and down. The ball isn't rattling about loose, it just seems to be able to move up and down a bit. I've found replacement rod ends from £5 upwards depending on material and bearing material so I'll just pop a new one on.

  6. Looks like the perfect place for a SpineRaid! I'm thinking @v11_meticcio should round up about a dozen of our brothers and post pics of Ago hanging around all those gorgeous V11 . . .

  7. That's so cool! Any ideas for a paint scheme or is it going to stay aluminium? I would love to see it in Azzuri blue!

  8. Stripper with Methylene Chloride is still manufactured here. The EPA ruled it could no longer be sold retail. i.e. Home Depot etc. It can be gotten wholesale if your a direct user. I restore antique mahogany runabouts. I use about 50 gallons of stripper every couple of years. I just bought a 50 gallon barrel of stripper with Methylene Chloride in it. If you need some find a professional furniture restorer, boat restorer or old house restorer. They will probably have some you could buy from them.

  10. Thanks for the welcome! This looks like a pretty simple refurb and not too expensive as a plus! The windage plate looks to be the next purchase as I live only a few miles from the BRP and tend to push a bit on it and the surrounding roads.

  11. I don't know anywhere here in The States that annual inspection would find something like that. Removing it for MOT seems a good approach. I always perform my own Annual Roadworthiness Test, also known as The South'n Spine Raid. It does not seem that the linear play would impair the function of the damper. Is there radial play (side to side)?

  12. The 2001 Rosso Mandello does have the concerning aluminum flywheel (and single plate clutch) common to the 2002 Scura and Tenni. The seat just doesn't look latched at the front. While the instrument needles quite orange and unfaded, low miles on a V11 always casts aspersions on the fragile speedometer/odometer cable drives.

  15. Cash1000 visited for a dipstick exchange, and to look sadly at my bike. That Rosso Mandello really looks great in the sun.
