  1. My Rosso Corsa was registered in 2003. I’d be intrigued to know if there was a point when the factory was producing the “carryover” sport in parallel with the long tank (no chinpad) Le Mans. I’ll check the frame no when I return home
  2. Yep, 100% the same as my 2003 that I assume was built in 2002, but I’ll dig the frame no out when I get home from my current overseas trip ..
  3. Greenie’s now off the road for various autumnal jobs. Front fender has a crack that needs repairing, and the I’ll get it repainted along with the belly pan and the side panels. However the very small screws that hold the 2 pcs of the fender together are corroded, and despite soaking them in plus gas release fluid, gripping with long nosed pliers, the nuts just spin and I can’t release the screws. I’m unwilling to try grinding them off with a mini grinder in case of damaging the plastic im sure this is a very common problem, does anyone have suggestions about how to grip the small round threaded ‘nuts’ ?
  4. Oh err, I don’t even know what sort of wine Pino Grigio is. I’m a man of simple tastes, I just stick to English ale for my boozing . As for veal piccata, it’s pie n chips for me
  5. This photo angle seems to exaggerate the Griso’s already long - 61 inch - wheelbase; 3.1 inches longer than a red frame V11. CARC bikes feel a little more refined than the spinies, a V11 has a rawer old school edginess, but the 8V motor pulls hard right up to the red line. I’d encourage any big block enthusiast to add a 8V roller tappet Griso to their stable whilst their prices are so affordable. 2016 was the end of an era for Guzzi. It remains to be seen if Guzzi manage to get the V100 into production next year
  6. Sorry, no new V11 photos this weekend, did go out on the Griso yesterday
  7. I’ve said it before, but of the original 3 stock colors for the red framed V11s, I never seem to see black bikes, it’s green or silver here
  8. Love the early silver V11’s. Yours has black side panels & fender, please remind me was this a special edition?
  9. Not a V11 topic, but whilst I was in the carpark yesterday, a 1964 Mini Cooper S rolled in. A total automotive legend, winner of multiple rallies in the 1960’s; star of the original Italian Job film with Micheal Caine (not the rubbish remake). Would blow cars with 4 times the engine capacity away on a twisty circuit or a mountain stage. Pure class, perfect compliment to my green Guzzi V11
  10. A quad bike, otherwise known as an ATV. Not a common sight on roads here; a useful working tool for farmers, foresters, and anyone who needs a small high mobility vehicle for off road work. On road they combine all the disadvantages of 2 & 4 wheelers rolled into a single vehicle. Can’t filter, as difficult to park as a car, don’t handle well as the narrow track and lack of sophisticated suspension make them prone to flipping over. Not my cup of tea
  11. My Greenie by the red telephone kiosk in Matlock today
  12. Overwhelmed with home maintenance jobs over the weekend, apart from pushing some bikes in & out of the garage, didn’t manage anything Guzzi related…
  13. My silver V11 & a friends new acquisition, a 1963 Ariel Golden Arrow, a 2 stoke 250 twin, built in Small Heath Birmingham nearly 60 years ago. By the time the Ariel Arrow stopped production in 1967, the British bike industry was almost finished with Small Heath itself closing in 1973
  14. Bacon butties with brown sauce, yum 🤤 been living of ‘‘em all weekend
  15. Local Guzzi dealer (there’s one) arrived with some V85s and V7s for folk to test ride
  16. Yesterday I was at the annual Guzzi Club GB national rally. It was a “toss-up” whether to take the Griso or the silver V11, I decided on The Griso as usually there are several spine framed bikes at the rally, but few Griso’s, so in the interest of variety I fueled up and off I went Not one spine framed Guzzi was there, and only one Griso - mine. Masses of Cali EV’s, V85’s, V7’s, & Stelvio’s Anyway we had a great days riding, and stopped at some fine cafes along the way. Note no “gastro” food here, just good old bacon & sausage
  17. Our other cat Sooty was assigned to guarding the Greenie, but she’s not really interested in the job
  18. We were worried that their salty sea-dogs would rip us to shreads I usually assign Lily our cat to V11 guard duty
  19. They were a bunch of scurvy desperadoes
