  2. I bled the clutch and both brake resevoirs
  3. I contacted a company called Brighton Blasting that is located near by here and talked to them about stripping the engine paint. They said they would glass blast it for 100 bucks. What do you guys think?
  4. $800-$1000 is about what I was expecting considering the damage and the expensive paint job. I was afraid it would be more!
  5. Im tall with long legs so I'll be ordering some KD lowered pegs amd a corbin seat this summer.
  6. I either want to repaint the engine and trans or blast em and leave em raw.
  7. Update. I brought the front fairing, the rear fairing and the front fender (aka all the candy apple redish pieces) to a body shop and got a quote of $800. I think Im also going to clearcoat the tank and the side panels.
  8. I didn't know that! Ill PM you my email.
  9. It does have the same livery but it has the faux titanium cans and a stock seat with holes in it from rodent damage ha. Just out of curuosity when did you sell it?
  10. Hey there gents. I am done with my first year of college and I'm ready to get cracking on the bike. I'm going to upload some pictures later of the fairing and scratched can.
  11. Yeah I agree with Steve. Pull the starter and clean the solenoid so there is no grease on it, Put a couple drops of 3 in 1 oil on the 2 surfaces and reassemble. I had a similar issue with my bike and that fixed it.
  12. Aha! I found it! There a snapped wire coming to the right contact. Looks like more rodent damage. I'm just going to use those pinch type connectors and then electrical tape around it.
  13. Yes it is. I actually just had to replace that bulb too. Kind of a pain to get in there.
  14. UPDATE OK so I just replaced the front brake switch and figured out that the switch actuator (little black plastic cylinder) had gotten smooshed (probably from an impact on that lever from my aunt running into the garage before I got the bike) and wasn't hitting the switch. Both switches work now. Here's the important part. When I am not touching the brakes the tail light is dark. When I push the brakes one or both of the filaments turn on depending upon the orientation of the bulb. I measured the voltage of the two prongs that make contact with the bottom of the bulb with my multi-meter and found out that the right side prong never has any voltage. The left side one which I think is working correctly has no voltage when the brakes are off and about 12 volts when the brakes are on. So whatever wire comes to that prong is broken somewhere I think?
  15. 1. Lights off completely 2. Both filaments on 3. Both filaments on If I rotate the bulb 180° the same thing happens but only one filament turns on.
  16. Uhh, that sounds normal? I think one filament is supposed to be constantly running.
  17. The rear switch works. The front switch is sticking. Now the only problem undiagnosed is why the light only turns on when I'm breaking. When I insert the bulb one way braking turns one filament on and if I insert it 180° braking turns both filaments on. The light only runs when braking.
  18. I tried rotating the bulb. What happened was that both filaments are constantly on. When I press the micro switch on the front both filaments turn off. The rear one doesn't do anything. Must be corroded or something. It also looks like the previous owner messed with some wiring under the fuse box. Could someone send a pic of the bottom of their fuse box so I can see if its right. Thanks.
  19. Alright so I disconnected the rear switch and the brake light stayed on. The front switch wasn't touching the brake lever but if I press it the whole light turns off. (Pressed down is no brake). I think one filament is always supposed to run. Is this correct?
  20. Alright guys. I have the weird problem of my brake light constantly being on. Because both filaments are on all the time no one knows when I'm braking. Not sure what is up with it. It's been like this since I got it.
  21. Hey guys. Now that I have my license and I've been driving around, I'd like to address the cracked and broken fairing. Does anyone have one I could buy for my 2002 LeMans? It's champagne red. Thank you.
  22. Here's a pic. I think they're steel. http://iob.imgur.com/uYGg/OQDwPpSzWy
  23. Hey guys. I was wondering if anyone knows where I can find the bushings that are on the side panels. Harper's doesn't have them and MG only has the rubber half. If anyone has any extras I will buy 2.
  24. My ride to school is about 8 miles. Half way through my school day I go to a technical college for a Tig/stick welding class with the college kids and that's about a 10 minute drive on the highway. I have a battery charger for the bike in the garage so I'm ok there.
