  1. This new case comes from the 2004-series V11 Sport. I have not heard of any such models having problem with cracking gearbox house.

They are 100% identical with the first 2000-models, but many things may have been changes to the better in the production.

Alu-alloy, casting prosess, bigger radius in corners etc.

Why use time and energy in trying to repair, when you can just put in a new part. I think the cost will be around the same level.

  2. You can do without that compressing tool if you have access to a hydraulic press.

I have the other special pipes (3 different) you would need to fully dismantle your gearbox - plus the one centering tool needed to renew the clutch plates in the future (you will need this sometime).

These 4 tools I have for sale. But I am living in Norway so send me a message if wanting more info.

  3. Hi Netherland

Take out your old gearbox and replace it with one that is fully restored (and got fresh sealings and sealing liquids in the joints).

Your question will be: where can I find such a piece.

    My answer: By me.

I have a retired engineer and restores gearboxes and rear drive "for fun".

In my shelf I have ready  one from a 2003 V11 Sport LeMans. The same black wrinckle paint as the Rosso Mandello.

Which clutch do you have? Single plate or twin plate? (I have a twin plate clutch also available.)

Contact me directly if this could be an option. My parts is not cheap - but I believe the quality and price fits to each other.

The negative is that I live in Norway (outside EU).

  4.

Is anyone in EU stocking these things or do they have to be ordered directly from you Pete?

Nobody in Europe stocks 'em. I've never been approached by anyone. Air mail fro Oz costs about $27AU I think.

Send me one so that I can be convinced and present the part to the SPRING meeting here in Norway.

If I like it - I can be your European representative - although Norway is outside EU.

  5. The gear box housing consist of 3 parts.

I think Luigi has forgotten to use any liquid seal in the joints when he assembled the gearbox.

I have seen many such gearboxes (first design of the six speed gearboxes from 1999 - 2005) with leaks, and all exept one came from leaking joints. Only one have had cracks in the front part house.

  6. My tools are much better than Moto Guzzi ever have made. They are professionally produced after my design - and since I have been working with Guzzi for 20 years and have worked with technical design connected with rocket motors - I sure can say I have relewant background.

You need only 2 of my 7 tools to open the 3 special nuts.

  7. I have both the 2 special tools that you need to unscrew the special nuts thats hold the axels.

Since I live in Norway - it would be best if users in USA would buy them. And a warning - they are not cheap, but are the best money can buy.

Send me a mail and I will respond with pictures and prices. (I also have tools for the 5-speed gearboxes.)

I am sure that there are people in this forum that knows my tools and will report in.
