Hi again David (Leafman),
I've been away for the last couple of days, hence the late reply. Looking at the correspondance I can see, that RPHETTEPLACE has been doing a great job
Regarding the fairing I paid in the vicinity of 2000 USD at my local dealer in Copenhagen, but it's worth every cent. If you PM me I can forward you some more pics of my Scura. Otherwise check the Gallery (see under V11 mods).
Cheers

I managed to drop my Scura at the front of my gate when I was about to open it. Freaking embarassing, but nobody saw me
That liltte f... up set me back a new spark plug + cover as well as the cosmetic damage on the rocker cover.....
A crash thingie like the one showed is definitely worth every penny.

So, I was riding and thinking last night and came up with a theory.
The assumption:
All the exploding clutches are Scura's from a reasonably similar manufacture time.
The hypothesis:
Could it be that the engines were not well balanced, and vibrations transmitted to the clutch stressed the aluminum to the breaking point?
The RAM clutches are balanced from the factory. The Guzzi engines are not necessarily, though they tend to be close.
Anyone with an explosive clutch care to comment?
Jason
Sounds reasonable, Jason and I dare to say, that your hypothesis is right. The questions is, why don't MG take this general complaint seriously? It's a world wide phenomenon - it's not just happening in i.e. Germany, Sweden or the US. They can't just play deaf, dumb and blind - they have to face the music now! As a Scura owner myself I have this feeling that one day (not some day) my clutch will go South, too. How about a consolidated complain from this forum? United we stand, together we fall........

Hi leafman,
I ain't got a fairing up for grabs (in fact I don't have any ) but hopefully you'll find one soon. Until then you can have a look at my Scura

Riding two-up ia a pain in a certain part of the lower spine, especially for the passenger! My wife is 180 cm tall/5"9' and she wasn't too impressed. Taking my sons for a spin was even worse as they stand 192cm and 196cm tall!
The high footpegs make it cumbersome for tall passengers - don't expect rides over one hour unless your pillion has sado-masochistic tendencies!!

What can I say but bollocks?
A little tinkering to be done here during winter
Good luck with the job

Tjenar' Göran,
Thanks for the info - I've never heard of them before, but they are definitely worth a try. I'm not quite sure but don't you have a G&B exhaust on your limey-V11? I may be wrong but it just strucked my mind.
BTW are you still on the road or are you already making snögubbar up in Luleå?

If you have no luck finding the GB system, Corsa Italiana in London sell them tel +44 2082397012.
I saw one in their tent at the V Twin rally fitted to a brand new V11 Sport. Makes the bike look slimmer by not having the regular silencers each side.
I think I also saw one hanging on the wall in Agostinis in Mandello.
Regards
Guy
Thanks Guy!

Hey Gooddog,
That Quat-D exhaust system is actually a lot cheaper than the G&B version (640 Euro vs. 660Euro). Furthermore it seems to me that the Quat-D comes with pipes, brackets, gaskets and what have you (my Italian is a far from fluent - Antonio, where are you??). If the quality is up to speed this could be worth a try.
Come on lurkers, anybody out there who has experience with this product???
Thanks in advance
Søren
PS: Thanks for the info!

Hi Staedtler,
I'm planning to have a go at the G&B letterbox-type exhaust sytem this winter, so I mailed them in order to get their price list(s). I'll forward the lists to you via email.
Regarding the other company I'm as blind as you are, unfortunately.
Happy hunting

Yup, that was a fine victory for The Doctor. The way Sete "The Mullet" Gibernau rode in Malaysia there is no chance in hell that he will win at neither Philip Island nor Valencia.
Stay tuned to Eurosport next weekend Göran and Lex!

You can run but you can't hide Chris....
Hope you'll get it fixed soon so you can enjoy the last weeks of this biking season (It was -2 degree Celcius this morning - the second day in a row in fact. Icy roads and Guzzis are a baaad cocktail, so it's time to hang up the wheels now)
Good luck!

Hi again,
I've been corresponding with Norman Birtles from NippyNormans regarding a Xenon kit for the V11's. He sent me this thread so you can check for yourselves. The price for a kit is 249.99 UK Pound Sterling (add 7.99 for P&P).
I must say I'm quite impressed with this company (and no, I'm not a shareholder and I don't get any discount )´cause service seems to be the rule of thumb.
I'll definitely have a go at this kit when I hang up the wheels in a month or so.
Check it out and see if you like it - it can only improve the already p... poor headlight on the V11
Cheers

Hi out there,
I was scrolling through the September issue of Superbike and on page 22 they run an advertisement for Phillips' Vision Plus Bulbs. Phillips state that these bulbies offer a brighter (more than 50%) light, longer beam length, faster light-up on break lights and they will also make your penis grow 2 inches over night... well, disregard the latter, but for the astonishing price of 5.99 UK Pound Sterling (sorry, I have a Danish keyboard) it's worth a try ain't it?
The bulbs also come in blue and other fancy options are available too. Check out this thread
Has anyone tried these babies or shall I still stick to my lead dog when commuting in the early morning hours?

Hello everyone,
I am very excited to be able to join this sight, today i became the proud owner of a brand new 04 nero corse. Seems like the perfect addition to my garage of bikes, my other 2 bikes are a 2004 Aprilia rsvr factory (also black), and a gorgeous 2005 MV agusta f4 1000s agostini replica.
Are we jealous? Nooooo, not at all
Hi Mr. Ford, just joking. Welcome onboard and good luck with your bikes, especially the dishy Nero Corsa.
Cheers!

As I understand it, the secret of a good job is down to the preparation. You have to have a good clean, surface to key on for starters. Thin coats are reckoned to be a lot better than one thick coat. The drying & curing process works better with thin coats.
Yep Nige, preparation is the key word.
As we used to say in the Army: "Preparation and Planning Prevents a Piss Poor Performance" and you can't argue that.
My Scura looks like a bull frog with warts so it's warranty time again, unfortunately. I'm having it done here during winter - I expect to hang up the wheels in a month or so depending on whether the night temperatures will drop below zero.

Hi there and welcome to the forum.
I'll just echo what everybody else has already said: It's a fine looking bike!

Hi out there,
Thanks for sharing the snaps from the V11-meeting. Unfortunately I couldn't attend due to travelling on the 12th, but it looks like you guys had a good time.
I've 45 pics from the Ostsee Italo Treffen in Kiel, Germany (which took place in the same time frame as the V11-meeting), but unfortunately I cannot upload the f****ng thingies on the http://community.webshots.com/.
I'm completely lame when it comes to computers, but I'll persuade my sons to give it a try while I'm away next week (going to the States once more).
Best regards
Søren
PS: All good things come to those who wait.......
PPS: A big pat on the back to Jaap and Paul for getting this site up and running again!

Fooking hell!
That's ugly - glad that your mate made it without any casualties.
This is just more ammo for us Scuristi, Tennisti and Mandelloisti. It's quite strange that Guzzi hasn't yet made a recall in order to fix the bloody clutch. Wonder if they read this homepage?
Thanks for the info, Paul.

Ciao!
I broke my Scura in according to the manufactorer. In other words: I didn't rev it over 4000rpm the first 1000 km, thereafter only up to 5000 rpm for the next couple of thousand km and now, with 5500 km on the meter, I give it the good news whenever I can.
Maybe I'm a chicken, but when the bike is still under warranty, I don't have an urge to mess with it.
Good luck!

Hi db!
Ride hard this weekend so all Scuristi can benefit from your experience!
I'm quite happy with the standard set up so far (I have already tried to fiddle with the preload and what have you, but to no avail ) but I'm open to your experinece.
Maybe 'I've been unlucky with my attempts, but i'm all ears whenever your ready to share your thoughts!

I'm in too. My Scura has the same problem and Ill have the dealer fixing it at next service (10.000km - warranty).
I don't like to drill if the bike is still under warranty - otherwise I would have done it on the spot.

Aonther Scura clutch broken

Hi Pete,
Yes please!
I'm hanging up my wheels soon, and I would love to have some "evidence" when I face my dealer. My clutch is still working fine, but the sound.... He keeps telling: "Well, you haven't the Ducati's" but I think that's a lot of bull.
Thanks for all the tech tips you provide
