  1. My 03 Rosso Corsa had a bad case of "tank suck" so I decided to go in and find the one way valve, and while at it to remove the carbon cannister and associated hoses. It was simple enough to do.....the valve had been installed backward at the factory. I can't believe that the bike ran as well as it did with all that vaccuum. At any rate, I could not figure out the assembly of the weird (Aprillia?) fuel hose connectors to remove the fuel tank. They are kind of cheapy looking plastic connectors that appear to snap on, but I couldn't figure how to disconnect them. My prying did nothing.....seemed close to breaking the things. What's the story on these critters?

Still no sign of bar risers for a V11 LeMans from Cycle cat? They make some nice stuff Come on Cycle Cat where are they????
  3. Yeah well, the color(colour) is a little more tanish/brown than the photo shows. I think people with Tenni's would like it
  4. I tried to install my kit yesterday. The footpeg bolt is really torqued on and there's no way to access the rear lock nut to loosen it. Short of using my impact wrench and a allen driver, I don't see the benefit outwaying the risk of chingering up the footpeg bolt. If you removed the porkchop completely it would be a "go", but that's a lot more than a 30 minute job. Kit will sit in a bag, until I misplace it, or forget what it is Maybe I have the only Guzzi to come out of the factory with every nut and bolt tightened up.
  5. I'm taking a guess here but it sounds like the grips are Tommaselli. I have a pair on my Ducati 250 single and I bought this pair to replace the old ones, which are still in good condition maybe 10 years ago. I dug these out of my parts stash...which is pretty sick, considering. These still have the packing dust on them and are the Daytona special model 1101 ones, The ones on my Duc are a alittle different, but all the gum rubber Tommaselli's feature the throttle ridge, at least as far as I know. I don't know if these are made any more...maybe an Ebay item. BTW if you find them anywhere, buy them...they are worth $ to collector types. They are too retro for my Corsa Rosa.... but are great for the little Ducati, which is like a bicycle with about 25 horsepower. I'll have to shoot a picture of it next to my Corsa...they really are a great pair: both RED I agree with the comments on Pro-Grips. I have these on a lot of my other bikes and like the grip and feel a lot. My Guzzi has been rock solid, only thing weird has been the "Tank Suck" condition, I 'll deal with that when I pull the carbon cannister though
  6. I got a set up on order. whew wee! $15.95 for a couple of bolts. I couldn't resist! I'll shoot some pictures of the set up before and after. I just hope its not lookin'
  7. Mark, The Ferguson/Naciemento is definitely a great road! I've driven it in sportscars and Firetrucks, but never a motorcycle! I really enjoyed your pictures and look forward to riding this on my LeMans.
  8. Thanks for the cross over info. Seems like they are equivilent, minus the clamps, and that's a good tip about drilling the spotweld . Gotta sell some older bike crud to raise the coin now!
  9. Does anyone have experience in comparing the Stucchi X over vs the FBF X-over? They look to be pretty much the same layout. I know the reputation of the Stucchi x-over (it works, but get a straight one), if the FBF X-over works, and fits right the first time, then that would be a selling factor for me.
  10. Well, time to check in. Looks like I've gone and bought myself a Moto Guzzi, of all things. I'll be heading down to New Orleans to check on the bike and to take a much needed/deserved trip with my wonderful wife, who is basically buying me this bike for my 50th (god, when did I get so old?). What a great woman I lucked in to getting hitched up with! The bike is an 03 Le Mans, Rosso Corsa, I'm having it shipped back to California. Would like to ride it back, but don't relish the thought of break in miles across desert country. I've long admired Moto Guzzi's rugged long range ability, the simplicity of basic design, along with the style and individuality that the marque represents. I've pretty much had motorrcycles in my life since I was 15 1/2. Too many to recall, but lots of bikes, including Jap, British, Ducati (still have a 250 single),dirtbikes, flat track bikes, mini-bikes. I enjoy wrenching my own....got sick of fiddling with modern Ducatis though...so Guzzi Time! I'm also lucky to have a great shop here in Santa Barbara where I live: Guzzidave's "SportCycle Pacific". This Forum and web site is great...the regulars really have a great sense of humor, something that seems to be lost to so many of us nowadays, so I'm looking forward to future postings. I'm sure that I'll have a million questions. Now to start working some OT to save up for the Mistral cans, Stucchi X over and PCIII. $$$
