    Gear Box Leak

My v11s started leaking at 6000miles from the rear of the gearbox mating surface, in under warranty and fixed within week. the dealer is not impressed with the sealant the factory uses, tells me it tends to go hard ( orange ) now resealed ( grey sealant) and 7000miles now up and still no leaks. a big thanks to Jason at motostrada shipley UK. as for gearbox level I maintain mine to the bottom of the sight glass and have had no oil leaks on my previous v11s, and this is the first leak on the present v11s ( hopefully the last
  2. connect the multimeter across the batt, then operate the starter, what sort of voltage are you getting?

    shift spring

I have just purchased my 2nd v11s, a 2003 model, I made it part of the sale that the spring and boss were changed before purchase. watched the job been done. the boss was oversize 16mm. Other than a slight oil leak at the back of the gearbox I have had no problems with either bike. The first bike did 22000miles a 1999 model. the hardest part, sweep, is finding a dealer who you can relie on when needed, and not just wanting it off the shop floor. My local Aprillia dealer will quite happily sell you a v11 but doesn't want to know after that.
  4. I can agree with chris, Definitely recommend Moto Strada. Jason is very helpful and free with the advice and coffee if required. A refreshing change to the usual dealerships that grab your money
  5. I have regularly seen 160miles before the fuel light comes on and have managed 21 miles before the pump starts to suck air, and pushing. Thats mostly on UK back roads which means 6th gear is very occasionally used due to the short straights. therefore to play safe I look to fill at about 130 miles
