  1. OK Folks- I need to sell my Rosso Corsa. I had some bites last round but no-one closed the deal. Bought new in 2004, 10K. It has: Ohlins front and rear, new seals and oil in the fronts around 1K ago Staintunes, Stucchi crossover, PC 3 black box Stainless balance pipe gaskets new relays, pawl spring, 2k on Conti Road Attacks Taller windscreen, Hepco Becker rack and bags. Oil changes every 3K, trans and drive box oil at 8K. Injection balances and TPS set properly, tappets set per Raceco, drive shaft lubed, polished religiously, various fasteners replaced with stainless--owned and loved by experienced Guzzisti. I also have bar risers I never installed I will include. Its a beautiful bike, runs beautifully, sounds fantastic, just broken in,ready for spring. Lets take the price down to 7K.
  2. Sorry but I was out of the State for a couple of weeks. It is my 03 Rosso Corso with 10K and some nice upgrades. I can't get my photos to upload (tells me the low quality IPhone snaps are too big). Anyone who is interested send me your email and I will send over the photos.
  3. OK folks, I unfortunately need to sell my Rosso Corso. Bought new in 2004, 10K. It has: Ohlins front and rear, new seals and oil in the fronts around 1K ago Staintunes, Stucchi crossover, PC 3 black box Stainless balance pipe gaskets new relays, pawl spring Taller windscreen, Hepco Becker rack and bags. I also have bar risers I never installed I will include. Its a beautiful bike, runs beautifully, just broken in, but I have another project to finance, and I am keeping the Monza and the Breva (wife's bike). How about $8K ?
  4. I bought some of those stainless inserts and haven't had a problem since--say 7k miles ago.
  5. I am using the 750 Breva diagram that you generated to fix the sidestand switch. Thanks again.
  6. Can't you just fabricate one in steel with a welder, saw, grinder and files ?
  7. Matra footpeg mod. (Appox. $425) Anybody got a link or a thread on this ?
  8. Well I installed the Cannon shift pawl spring today. I made it to 8600 before the stock one broke and it jammed in 5th gear. The spring broke in the coil. I am a bit baffled--the boss measured at 14.85 mm, and since it didn't break on either sharp edge it rubs on, the usual suspected causes are ruled out. Do people think maybe we just got some bad springs ?
  9. Thanks so much. I stayed up late last night and found some of the threads. I ordered two springs from Cannon today, and will use the photos in the threads to guide the repair. I'll report on the boss size once I get the thing open.
  10. I did not adjust anything before or during the ride, and it worked fine up to the moment it did not--no gradual process. The lever is still in the middle of its throw, and all the linkage seems to be in fine shape. It looks to me like its internal. On the pawl spring, I thought I was off the hook with the 03 model year, but a guess not... Is there a thread on the repair process ? Will it be obvious when I take the back off the thing ? I've worked on the tranny on my Monza, and I suppose the layout is pretty much the same on the 6 speed on the V-11. Is that largely true ? Any help from those that have been through it greatly appreciated. Daniel
  11. So Thursday I rode up to Arcata from San Francisco via PCH on the Rosso Corso--8.5 hours of great riding. Friday I zapped up to Somes Bar on the Klamath. This morning I started the trip back, and right after I dropped out of the mountains, the tranny stuck in 5th. Linkage is still on, return spring centers the lever, but nothing happens when a push the lever up or down, clutch in or out. Luckily the thing can grunt out of anything, even 5th gear from a dead stop. Anybody else had this happen ? Bent shift fork ? Any other theories ? The bike is only at 8600 after this ride. Daniel
  12. Is there any type of nuetral safety interlock on this bike? I didn't see one that was real obvious, they are usually pretty easy to find on Jap bikes...that's a common cause of no-crank on them, the switch sticks and it thinks you are trying to start it in gear. Am I correct to assume this bike doesn't have that feature? Also...we noticed one fuse was quite warm with the ignition on....and they said it was NOT the fuse that they changed...there is only four fuses, but we had no reference as to what it protects. Looking at the fusebox from the right side, it was the 3rd fuse from the left, if that helps. This concerned me because the last time I saw that, it was a reg/rectifier that was bad and caused a wiring meltdown...still...not sure if it's related, a red herring, or what. Anyway...didn't mean to write a novel about it, but this (Guzzi) is uncharted territory for me, and just wanted some orientation and knowlegeable opinion before diving in blind. Thanks! On a 1981 V-50 ?? Are you kidding ? There is no neutral interlock.
  13. What does this have to do with Moto Guzzi's ? If I want to read this kind of bullshit I know where to go. Please keep it off this site.
  14. I touched the ground on the ECU to the hot battery lead while installing a PC-III. Fried the ground inside the loom for a good 10 inches, and roasted the insulation on lots of adjacent wires. I opened up the loom until things were no longer fried, then carefully went through with paint on insulation and sealed everything up again. Has worked fine for 15K since. Gave me some heartache that first day, though.
  15. Mine broke at 1500 miles. The replacement I got under warranty is identical to the old one--with the angled metal pipe. Its gone about another 2000 to date...
  16. Lets go riding. How about Sunday? My girlfriend just got her Breva and is itching for a trip to Alice's. It should be dry by then.
  17. No template in my box. I knocked off the captive nuts on the fender bracket, and things seem to line up now with it installed. I think I can see how to slot the inner fender now that things are in place. Also the wire extensions for the turn signals are too short, so I will have to make some up. Last, the passenger pegs hit the rack. In the photos it looks like people put rubber hose over the end of the pegs. Overall the installation is not the Korrect German experience I expected (and paid for).
  18. Gents- I am 50% through installing bags on my Rosso. The instructions are in German only and the two pictures provided show very little. The cross piece that goes under the fender apparently bolts to the subframe, and only fits if I remove a bracket that holds on the inner fender and stiffens the outer fender. The bracket will not go on with the cross piece installed. The inner fender also will not fit. It looks like I will need to either slot it, or cut off one end (eek !) Has anyone else out there had the same issues ? What is the sanitary set up ? Respond ASAP, as I can't go X-mas shopping without the bags to carry the swag, and while I am a grinch, various kiddies will be very dissapointed Santa blows them off... Daniel
  19. Hey wait a minute. I promised to send out my seat base the first week in January. So you'll have one job at least. We're riding now in California, so I am reluctant to give up the bike.
  20. I installed the Staintune cans using the stock cross over first, and the cans were twisted in exactly the same way they were with the Stucchi. Therefore I blame Staintune. The pipes I installed on the 1100 sport also required some filing, twisting and bashing (not much mind you) to fit, so I thinks that is par for Staintunes. In contrast the Bubs I fitted on the 1100 and on my Monza lined right up.
  21. I have Staintunes on my Rosso Corso. They took a bit of tweaking to fit. Also the guard for the passenger's feet has a razor edge on it, and will slice you when you wash the bike if you don't watch it. They sound great. I put the Stucchi cross over on because FBF had an unknown waiting period to deliver--which they only told me about after I waited 4 weeks for delivery. Since I also put holes in the airbox and have the Power Commander, I am unsure of the the contribution of each to the bike, but that motor is one of the great joys of my life. The varying finishes on the headers, cross over, and cans look a bit odd, but the Rosso Corso is so busy with black, red and polished surfaces that it seems to fit in. I put Staintunes on my 1100 sport after the Bubs had cracked for the 4th time. The Bubs sounded like a hot rod tractor. The Staintunes for the 1100 were a complete system. I think Staintune makes cans only for the new bikes because the stock headers are good quality. So all in all, I am happy with the product.
  22. How do non-members of Yahoo get copies ? I need the manual for my 03 Rosso Corso.
  23. Hey Enzo- If you still have any of the tapered roller bearing kits for the V-50, let me know. I will tak one for my Monza. Daniel
  24. Thanks folks. The PVMs look plenty trick. $3K is brutal, however. Any comments on differences to the ride that light wheels make ?
