  1. Wow Tomsp... good time for me to read your story, with the heat in Texas I am riding with sandals and shorts (but always my full face helmet)... I need to get real and buy me some propper summer riding gear... My MG handles great and is easy to forget that shit happens!!! Thanks for sharing your story Anthro
  2. Then who needs the enemy to feel insecure? Frying on top of the MG, but reaching the 4000 miles mark... Anthro
  3. Nogbad, I do not know what it may be causing the oil lost, if the bike is not leaking, is must be burning it... not enough for you to see it, but as soon as the pressure decreases the rate of burnig would slow down to make the diagnotic more confusing... In general if you add a bit of Molikote (or stop smoke, honey like fluidity) just ensure that good stuff is at the inner walls of the engine things may improve between oil changes. I would not add the full recomended amount unless your engine needs big time fixing... I guess for the 3 liter V11 capacity I'll add 20 cc of this product and see what happen... (no too much more, we do not want the oil pressure to rise too much). Enjoy your MG...
  4. I like the buell too, but is a bit below my bike's wish list, even do it is ugly enough for my... next to the MG nera is the Duc. monster they look more like a bike for me, and they does feel good... MG's can do wheelling too it just take some technique... just drive it while upset you'll dicover the evil hidden under my sweet crusier... sit as far back as you can, the rest is just up to the V and the clutch Anthro
  5. Stig, that is great that you solved the technical trouble your self and with no spendings. If you have contacts made of cheap materials, a solution may be to cover all reachable surfaces with a layer of lead using a soldering gun and electronic soldering wire with resin in the center, this material improves the contacts and reduce the cummulation of salts between the surfaces (Tryed and really last for a long time). Also there is specific electronic grease, I have used it but I do not know how long it will last (but is what the phone companies are using for the contacts inside outdoor boxes...) Time to enjoy Anthro

    New Guzzi Owner

Welcome, I love your bike ... do not be afraid, I too jumped into MG and purchased a new one even after reading all the problem-sharing websites. Anthro
  7. I had a very simmilar problem: During my college years (12 years ago) I had a Honda CB 360T... The new battery will work but decresing charge -needed charging in a week-. I went to many bike shops, even some specializing on to eletronic repairs... I got too many diferent opinions to choose from, and no money to cover more than one of them ... I took desesperate actions, replaced all bulbs for less power consuming... the four 5w bulbs at the speed and rpm meter reduced to 1/2 watt each, position and turn signals & brake from 7/21 watts to 2/6 watts, the headlight light from 45/55 to 35/35... but the problem remain... Then I started on circuit map, with the theoretical knowledge just acquired in a electronics lab (freshman in physics)... The bike was few years old and the multiple connectors were not looking good... some oxid was cumulated on few of them... I Changed all the multiple connectors for single ones welding the wire to the connector -not just pressing it- I choose connectors with the best longest insulation (hella) so I would not have to tape the edges... This solved the problem and I was able to go back to decent lights... Good luck Stig !!! ---- MG... So far I have been real lucky with my MG... at 3400 miles is real sweet , done my first oil change ... since the service is scheduled to 6k miles -I did not want to wait... So far no flaws ... Just loving it The MG aluminum is a spirited and sweet bike all at the same time... There is some hidden power burst at 5500 rpm, a real pleasure to exploit. ---- Anthro
  8. Hi Congrats for the nice set of wheels... Confession, I am a bit jealous too, I use to draw those cars when I was a kid, then as a teen I used to admire the "smart technology" I liked the british Jensen FF (1960's), a nice solution for 4wd on a traditional sports GT. But is a matter of perception, here in Texas the natives seem to admire the Land Rover, marketed for the rich, for me, it was one the tortures I suffered while working in Africa. Now I'll rather drive anything else, I am indeed missing the Citroen 2CV. In any event, it is all in your mind, as long as it does not have the deadly brakes of Crysler minivan, and the engine of a Ford is Ok. for me. Currently I drive a real reliable Subaru Impresa with 170k and I share the very same speed linit at the hiway with with mi neighbord who dives a new Jag coupe. What really turns me On are vehicles with just 2 wheels specially MG power delivery is tunned for humans, and full of enjoyment, About cars, I feel sitting in there like a long elevator ride to work... I can not wait for something more interesting to catch my attention, like a diesel that will ot fall apart like the VW made in Mexico. --- I saw again the Nero Corsa parking at starbucks in Webster, but at this time I was not on my MG, .... I had too much to do I needed a large trunk to carry the weight of my survival kit... papers, book and laptop ... I guess cold weather rain and cargo are the limits of the my car concept. Then give me reliability (consumer reports), and price and do not bother with shape and color.... I hope you enjoy the 355... Anthro
  9. Hi NogBad, Blair and his new World colleague are just too powerful here to blend in with super-natural stuff, even anti-Christ... I think of them just as really bad people... An anti-Christ is just against Christ and his ideology, Blair and Co. surpass those boundaries by far. For example no Church or bible, developed the pension funds for retirement... and the past female colleague of Blair initiated the change into private accounts... now you have a lot of suffering but no anti-Christ, on the contrary now more than ever praying is necesary for the stock market to do better... you see... just bad people no anti-Christ . Sorry for the bitter note... I need to get some sleep and ride my MG more often... Always Anthro

    ALARMMMMM

Hopefully you'll get your bike back soon,
  11. I just wish I had the money for both... I actually was in CA last week... I did not know about the laws there and the police's way to apply the Law ... I guess the virtual Gobernor is too busy to worry about real issues . I do not believe Texas is an example of nothing positive... I ride my MG though Texas City while commuting to work, and the refinery fumes sometimes are so strong that I feel sick... but they are smart: visible gas only when is foggy or cloudy ... nobody seems to care here... Talking to natives seems like environmental thinking is like being against them or the Texan economy, it looks as bad as the word Tax... I believe that with some care the MG G&B can be registered almost any where but California... (may be borrwing the catalitic converters of a newer street legal Guzzi). I am definetely buying a Lotary ticket this weekend Anthro
  12. Side note, I know you guys (you'll in texan) have V11 sports or simmilar but I am having the same problem with my California 2003, sometimes it happen every 30 to 40 miles the air lock is bad enough to make the engine's performance decay, and when I open the cap air rush inside and the metallic tank sounds like a tin can going back to its shape. Is so bad that vacum can stay for days before I open the cap. I talked to the dealer at the 1000 miles inspection and they did charge MG for something but the problem remains. I guess a discrete hole will fix what couple of thousend years of European metall handling. Anthro
  13. Dave ... It is real uncommon to see two MG together, but last week I parked my silver california by a really beautiful Nero Corsa at the local B&N+Strabucks. The parking place started to gather some attention of people walikng by... I was amazed... people seemed to concentrate more on the silver, I guess the crusier is the fashion in Texas... One day I'll posses them both. I love all the women in all shapes and colors but rather mufflered; for motorcyles just MG and rather loud.
  14. I Just saw the Motorcycle Dairies, It is a really great movie. I am from Chile, and I have been on those routes, it is indeed beautiful... at that time I was in college and I had a Honda CB 360 T , a fine bike but in a student budget it was not going too far... I rode and walked the through the Atacama dessert... quite an experience... the brown mountains become red with the sunset... and there is no tree to pee at, just the horizon line of the inmense place, where the rocks crack every nigh ( and your bones too)... I hope I'll be back there in couple of years and bring my MG with me I bet I can keep it running with FIAT parts ... I did the road through Los Andes to Agentina in a Citroen 2CV, it does not stuck in the mud it just float and swims ... (just do not ask for speed). In 1985 I knew about 2 MG in Chile both of them 1981 LeMans 850... Anthro
  15. I am speech-less this scene more than hilarious is sad... hey dlaing now I can finally say that I like your avatar ... shall we say that HP in on the march? As always Anthro
  16. Congratulations !!! I am all for the red wine , as soon as you post the first pictures I'll switch to Italian wine . Anthro
  17. Hi Paul, Do you know if they have the parts manual for the california V11 series... I would love to know my bike better . The site forbids the browsing of the files folder. Thanks Anthro
  18. I had great fun looking for the bike ... the size of the muffler was the big clue , the rest was google. Thanks DeBenGuzzi Anthro
  19. I found it ! It is a McIntyre 2000 Jay Leno's motorbike... Here is a more detailed link Anthro
  20. I think this picture is related to the populsion system of the silver bike... here is the link: Environmentally sound Propulsion system Here is a detalied diagram of the self propelled comode hut (I believe that this bike is made in the USA...) Anthro
  21. Hi Tood, I appreciate your input here at this site and understand your points. I just have a question, Why some dealers did not participate into the MG-US bike sales frenzy with this deep price cuts last summer? Some delaers passed on the discount making the sales price so unreal that I mailed people I did not know a bank check , hoping that I would get a Bike shipped to my place ... It all worked all right , but it was the least desirable scenario to get my MG. I am sure they too made a profit with this sale. Anthro
  22. Jaap Do not expect restraint or elegance from US business. My mail box at home looks like a trash can so bad that many times I throw good mail on the trash. My Phone rings many times a day with ‘personalized calls’. To make it entertaining I am building a listing of business I will never do business with. Some of them are Houston Chronicle, Bank of America, Bank One, Capital One, Lens Crafters, MCI, ATT, and many local ones with automatic callers that leave messages on your answering machine. Fax junk still a fashion here: At work they discovered the fax number and now 90% of the paper and film toner goes into waste. I am not a compulsive shopper, I am not rich, I am not American, but still I am at the bothering list of business. But rudeness is on the march, last week I got a phone call at home from a business in England, they sell information about diverse market places, like China and India, oriented for people who want to invest in the stock market. This was my fault because I did fill the blanks out of curiosity for the service they provide. Anthro
  23. Hi TX, A experienced truck driver can provide training for new ones, some community colleges have driving schools, one example is Galveston College.... MacDonalds is bad enough without the intellectually challenged co-worker... Be patient with the guy, he is in the right place, and you can and will move on. Mean tieme get your MG and relax after the day's work . (Just do not get speed tickets, today I 45 hiway was looking like a police parade and the feast of tickets... ) Anthro
  24. I vote for RUNE, not only the name but the whole bike... more circus than street oriented just the contrary of elegance... made for the american taste but way too Jap for it...
  25. One of my friends from Denmark told me that you only have couple of sunny days a year, but you like like that ! Here in Texas the fog was quite dense (going into Galveston) but decide to commute on my MG The car feels like a 35 miles elevator ride. is hard to leave the bike at home . Anthro
