  1. On my bike the connectors are on the left side beside the frame when tank is removed. Should just be a case of pushing them in and if you suspect they are loose give them alight crimp with pliers. If you trace the wires from the clutch switch/sidestand and neutral you should find them. Done it myself that long ago i can barely remember :oldgit:

  2. Picture was taken at a small Dutch only V11 meeting in Arnhem, a couple of years back.

    I didn't know what you were thinking, but my guess is, it wasn't the above. :)

    I thought it was taken at the kenbridge hotel meeting a couple of years ago :drink: . There was a good line up of V11s there. :thumbsup:

  4. Just filled up the V11, bike had done 172 miles and the fuel light had just started glowing. Gets to the local petrol station and fill up with 16 litres of shell v power unleaded. £22.27!!!!! So has anyone paid anymore ?.

     

     

    Not sure if you are commenting on the fuel economy of your bike, or the cost of fuel these days.

    As a resident of the area with the highest gasoline prices in North America, I understand your situation,,,,and know that the prices we pay in NA are just a % of the prices you have to deal with in Scotland.

    If you are refering to your mileage per tankfull, I think your bike is in the average that can be expected with the spine frame V11's.

    It was just a general comment on the price of petrol here, i could have got it cheaper if i bought it from a supermarket forecourt or bought lower octane, but it was the first full tank this year and i wanted fresh high octane running through her. :helmet:

    No rubber pad on the tank, and I am pretty certain that it has an internal pump. I'm not sure it even has a petcock? Sorry, but I am relatively new to this bike!

    Well if it has the internal fuel pump you should take off the tank retaining bolt, lift the tank at the back and stick something to keep it up a couple of inches for easier access. You will have 2electric plugs to disconnect ( fiddly) then disconnect the QD,s on the fuel lines (even fiddlier) . The way i do it is keep your left hand on the red or white plastic connection coming out of the tank, then with your right hand push or pull collar on the fuel line til its loose, some petrol will leak out. When they are off lift the tank from the back and look underneath in the middle there should be a overfill hose to disconnect then lift it off. Just be careful with the connections. When you are putting it back on make sure the fuel lines are fully home.

  6. defo sounds like rear brake-mine does it on occasion especially after some wet riding-a good clean with an old toothbrush and some hot water should sort it-

     

     

    I agree, definetly the rear brake. Happened to me a few weeks ago ipulled the rear pads and noise dissapeared.

    failing that, bearing in mind my lack of skill, whats involved in removing the shaft to grease the uj?

     

    If memory serves me right i think it was moscowphil who posted a pic of his grease gun attachment. I made the same thing and it goes on the nipple a treat, but it didnt go fully home so you have to file the nozzle and then it was perfect. I takeoff the rear wheel then the rear trans from the shaft (make sure you have the paint marks both sides of the shaft before removal, if not mark it yourself) I Also take off the lower shock mount nut and bolt as it lowers the swing arm about 20mm, turn the shaft to expose the grease nipple and grease away :drink:

    Is it still impossible to find an "original" carbon fibre front mudguard for an Ohlins fork?

    My Rosso Corsa lost its mudguard during an encounter with a deer last autumn and my workshop has failed to find a new one.

    There is a C/F mudguard on ebay, from a manufacturer in san diego. It looks good and who would know it isnt original!!!. But i have seen originals on ebay quite regularly,Or have you tried reboot guzzi spares they are/werebreaking a cafe sport so they may still have the mudguard.

  9. My cafe sport has roughly 27000 miles on it. Its on its second speedo and has used 4 or 5 speedo cables. Apart from that only minor issues. I replaced the transmission spring at the 23000 miles mark as i was getting paranoid that it would go soon inthe middle of nowhere, but no, it was in perfect shape and is now my new spare part.

  10. However I'd like to add that on a few occasions my Rosso has done just the same but I found waggling the handlebars lock to lock bought the starter into life!

    I must have a poor connection in the loom somewhere I guess,trouble is the fault is never there when I at home and can do some proper diagnosis!

    That will be the connections under the tank on the left side, I think it was the wires from the clutch/side stand are a bit loose. Just a wee crimp with pliers and thats another problem out of the way!!!.

    Have had ny one fitted for best part of 15000 miles, took it off recently while doing maintenance, still like brand new.
