  1. Moto-Euro Magazine Is this old news? I'm always looking for e-printed reviews on the motorcycles in which I am interested. Moto-Euro/Fast By Ferracci V11 Sport
  2. This seemed to be a good deal for someone looking for a Green MG Sport "2000 Motoguzzi V11 Sport - green left over new bike with 2 year factory warranty on unit. Only one left. MSRP 11000. You can buy it for $7500." cycletrader.com
  3. Rachet hack . . what a great response. MG ownership and enjoyment is possible, but at the cost of personal attention to the details. It sounds as if it's worth it.
  4. In a surprising move, Sears Corporation and new partner Kmart unveiled plans today, that they are seeking to acquire the Moto Guzzi Motorcycle company. If acquired Moto Guzzis will be solded in the United States and throughout North America under the Kenmore Brand Name. Early reports indicate that the Moto Guzzi/Kenmore motorcycles will be sold through the new Sears/Kmart SuperStore network. When an official at Moto Guzzi was finally reached for comment, and anonymous spokesman stated… “Aye! She ain’ta mush’a fa motocycyleria but I bett’a she’s gone-be una hellaffa washmachine.” When asked for further comment, none was forthcoming. However, after several seconds, an apparent gunshot was heard, and the phone-line immediately went silent. ADD has no further information at this time.
  5. Alpinestar Supertechs offer substatial ankle protection and are ventilated. Protection is my #1 concern, though I kinda like the clown suit look. They do come in plain black for the "sofisticated" guzzi rider. ;>)
  6. Source once more: Alan Cathcart: "Piaggio has dumped 25 million Euro into Moto Guzzi. They're aiming for a bike production of 10 or 12k per year so Moto Guzzi can live again. They're unsure whether to upgrade the old factory or build a whole new one 10 km down the road." aprilia/Moto Guzzi link Just as i suggested in another thread . . . a la John bloor at Triumph.
  7. What are the differences between the engine technology of the Breva and the V11 LeMans et al?

    PITA

Well, you did leave yourself unprotected (he he he) . . . . lose 20 pounds!
  9. Even a pressure system didn't work for me until I used gravity. Went through two bottles of brake fluid with a Mighty Vac before finally breaking down and doing it right. For some reason that rear master cylinder just holds on to those air bubbles.
  10. I had this same problem with my aprilia Falco when I installed new brake lines. The final solution (most difficult) worked. Like has already been mentioned, you have to take the rear caliper off and hang it higher than the master cylinder. Put a shim between the pads to keep them from collapsing. The air bubbles will then all rise upward. With your speed bleeder you will shortly have all the air out of the line and good rear brake pressure.
  11. With MG currently operating in the red, it's a wonder they had any presence at all. I would be suprised if that was an "official" company sponsored display. I would love to see someone like Michael Jordan get some investors together and buy MG, do a total make-over (much like John Bloor did with Triumph) and really put MG back on the motorcycle map.
  12. We had alot of fun with a thread like this over on the aprilia Falco forum. Let's see a pic of your V11 with no (at least minimal) words. Let the Italian Artwork begin!
  13. Tom, I'm glad to hear you survived virtually unscathed. For those who have seen my recent post in the "member intro" forum, you know I was not so lucky. "Blind corners/hills" are a crap shoot at best. I certainly learned the hard way to do what you recommend. . . "slow way down" . . . that's really the only wise action to take when confronting these common situations. I too am a big proponent of full protective gear on every ride. I hope those that don't protect themselves willl take a look at this graphic thread before they venture out on the highways and biways unprotected.
  14. I agree 100%. I'm not a follower when it comes to motorcycles, and the V11 really trips my trigger visually.
  15. Tim, I agree about the Thruxton. I was able to test ride one earlier this year. I prefer the TBS engine and suspension. I would put the the Thruxton clipons on the TBS and turn it into a cafe style racer (if I went that route.) Thanks for the kind words re. my injury. Phil
  16. Howdy. This was my 2001 aprilia SL mille just a few short months ago. It was my pride and joy. The bike I had decided would last me the rest of my life. I had spent the entire winter wrenching on her to transform her into my Rossi Repsol Replica . . . just having fun, if you know what I mean. You can read the whole story here if you are interested. Well, after just 150 miles on my first ride of 2005, I totaled it. The bottom line is I am now beginning my research on a replacement bike in about a year or so. I have a long row to hoe with my left wrist problem. My choices are the following: Triumph Thunderbird Sport Buell XB12R Ducati DS1000 Motoguzzi V11 LeMans (The bike I first [pre-aprilia] lusted after except at $14,995, it was out of reach financially.) Thats why I'm here . . . to absorb the knowledge on this forum to help me develop the same relationship with a MG V11 as I had with my poor Falco.
