  1. I mounted them where the two pieces of the wheel fairing come together on the outside of the forks. The reason for this is that we get fog in Maryland and placing the lights low gets under the fog. Placing them lower may have cut a little of the distance the lights can reach but I'm still able to see 10 to 20 feet past where my headlight reaches. Adding one to each side has also given me greater visibility to the sides. I went from the 50w stock bulbs to 35w. The difference is noticeable but not by a lot, still provides a lot of extra light. I also got a Kuryaken led batter gauge, there's almost no strain/drain on the battery unless I'm coasting or stopped in neutral. I highly recommend the Kuryaken led battery gauge. ratchethack: 1. I don't think these 1/4 pound lights will do much to affect anything engineers have worked so hard for. They certainly haven't affected my handling or gas mileage. 2. If I have to replace $10 bulbs every six months or year, so what. Even the lights themselves only cost $50. Either way, nothing I'm worried about having to replace if they break. 3. read the paragraph above. 4. Where I come from bling means shiny crap that has no affect on usability or function. These do not fall into either category. If they had no function or served no purpose, they would not be added, but they are very functional. Especially since I leave for work at 6am and its starting to get dark earlier.
  2. If you want a great set of footpegs, contact Greg Fields about the Motobits foot pegs. They lower the pegs an inch? are extremely adjustable, and if anything breaks that individual part can be replaced, not the whole assembly. No need to change any lines either, its a complete kit adn worth every penny. My knees and legs thank me every ride. If you do a search, you can find a rough picture of them. If you want a better picture I can take one of mine when I get home.
  3. Thanks for the replies and suggestions. I checked out Altberg and they seem like they have some really nice boots. Going to order a pair as soon as they are back from their factory holiday.
  4. Greg, I pm'd you about the turn signals.
  5. got a link to a picture of the wheels?? I looked on the website and couldn't find a picture. Does anyone know what the "cardan" bar does??
  6. After seeing some pics of a guys foot after a crash at 45mph I've decided to get some pants and boots. I got a pair of Joe Rocket textile pants that can be worn over my regular pants, but am wondering what others are using for boots and how you like them. I don't want a high boot and I like laces over zippered boots. I'm currently looking at the Alpinestars Recon boots, the Tour Master Response SC waterproof boots, and the ICON Field Armor "Chukka" boots. Any opinions or boots I'm missing and should consider? If this is in the wrong forum please move it.
  7. I changed out the bulbs for the 35w so hopefully the Le Mans has at least a spare 75w. I also won't be using them all the time, and the other thing I have going is that my commute is mainly highway(good for charging the battery). I'm getting a Kuryakn battery meter as suggested in another post to help keep an eye on it as well, may have to hook the battery up to a tender every week or so. Better than getting hit because someone didn't see me.
  8. Finally finished, waiting on some of the posi connectors listed in another thread to wire up the switch permanently. For right now the switch wire has to be wired into the batter for the lights to work. All in all not bad, bad about $40 for the lights, still waiting on the 35w h3 bulbs so the pictures are with the 50w bulbs. I ended up mounting the lights on the front fender because of the ease of mounting them. I think it looks pretty good too, and the lights light up the entire street Seems I can't figure out how to resize my pictures and put them in a format that the site can handle. I'll mess around with it and see if I can get them posted. Got it!!!
  9. okay, so I've got everything pretty much wired up. The only problem I've run into is that I need to tie one wire into a switched power wire, like the headlight/taillight. Can someone help me identify the/ switched wire like the headlight? I was planning on using one of the inline connectors (the kind that adds one wire to an already run line, you just clamp down on the run wire), Then I can post some pics of the installed lights.
  10. so I'm wiring up my driving lights(going from my battery), I have two 35w h3 bulbs and using a 15amp fuse, I've got a relay in there as well. Is that a big enough fuse or should it be bigger, maybe a 20 or 25amp? Also, anyone know how much the Guzzi can handle as far as extra power? 35x2=70watts for two lights, could a 15/20watt heated jacket be added or would this stall out my le mans?
  11. No way ok, well maybe a little. I think we have better taste and don't want to be part of the herd riding a japanese bike that everyone and their mother owns. There's a MG/Ducati dealership in my area always looking for a new mechanic and willing to train the right person. I've often thought about giving up my IT job and trynig it, just don't have the nads to try it, and the wife would kill me
  12. Does anyone have a picture of where they mounted their accessory(fog, driving) lights on a lemans or v11 sport? I've got everything ready for install, just trying to figure out where I want them, and where they would look good. I'm thinking about one infront of each fork leg or mounting them to the side of the fairing on the front wheel(probably not there though). Any other suggestions/recommendations?
  13. I have a Joe Rocket textile jacket as well as another textile jacket by First Gear or Road Gear. I love them both, they are comfortable and warm with the liner in, and cool enough to ride the bike in 100 degree heat without the liner and all zippers opened. The only downside to textile jackets is that they are pretty much one crash jackets, luckily I've avoided the oppurtunity to test it.
  14. I'm just curious how others would do the wiring, I know I need to go from the battery, but do I need relays? What do relays do? I did a search on adding the lights and read some posts about people using the relays. I plan on buying regular fog lights and switching out the bulbs for 35w. Also does anyone know where I can get a switch that will mount nicely on the handlebars or someother idea?
  15. Look at Manic Salamander bar end weights as well, they run about $70. I can't feel any bar vibration on my '03 Le Mans with them.
  16. As it so happens, football is the nickname I gave your wife So you are correct in your thinking, football does suck; and she's quite good at it too
  17. Are american athletes the only idiot athletes in the world that compare a sporting event to war?? First it was Kellen Winslow Jr. talking about how he's a soldier and its war on the football(american) field, now Eddie Lewis is saying that its like war because he puts a U.S. jersey on with the crest representing America and he's going to do battle with players from other countries. Somebody should smack him, there's a huge difference between war a sports, and to make such assimilations is just stupid.
  18. don't know what game you were watching? Your correct about Beasley. But Donovan did his magical dissapearing act, or the I'm so great I'm always marked and don't know how to get open. Reyna only had one good shot, and then that half-a$$ attempt at blocking the second goal. Let's not even talk about Onyewu. Eddie Johnson was the only man that showed excitement at playing. I don't know what the U.S. is doing but its not soccer(futbol), do they know that they have to dribble around the opponents or into open space in order to shoot? Just a pathetic performance, and Donovan's post game interview was embarrasing for U.S. soccer fans.
  19. Those aren't pictures of my bike, but everything does come in the kit. Nothing needs to be fabricated, the only down side is that the foot pegs don't fold so you will scrape/grind footpegs if you lean over far enough:)
  20. If you click on my name and view my posts you'll see the pictures I posted of the motobits rearsets. They are very nice, worth the money. try this link and scroll all the way down. http://www.v11lemans.com/forums/index.php?showtopic=7601&hl=
  21. Tell the guy to ride one and find out, then he'll be on here asking all sorts of questions about the MG he just bought:)
  22. For those that installed clipon bar risers, how did you reroute the cables? Did you take of the top of the triple tree and mount the cable infront of the tubes(closer to the frame) or around the back side(closer to the fairing)? Don't know if I want to pay for new lines at this time, the boss would KILL me for spending even more money on my beloved le mans. Thanks for the help.
  23. I figured because the stock clipons left my hands with a pins and needles feeling on rides over 30mins, these would probably be the same. I'm installing them but am still curious if it would be safe to install bar end weights just in case.
  24. I just recieved my Tommaselli clip ons from Agostini in Italy, I would like to install the Manic Salamander bar end weights but it says that you should not install bar end weights on aluminum bars. Anyone know anything other wise or have any other ideas?
  25. Which models came with 4valves?
