  1. I bought a Guzzi manual, it just hasn't arrived yet and am wondering what is usually done at 9k? Might take it on myself if its just an oil change. I had the big service at 6k done, checked valves and other stuff, maybe I can start doing the oil changes and having the stealership do the 6,12,18k etc services I know some of you are going to say I should or can do everything, but I don't have that much desire with a dealer 5 miles away and another bike that I can ride while the Guzzi's getting serviced.
  2. thanks for the advice. I've been doing a little research and it seems that yes the DNEPR's are not worth the money as of right now. I think I'll be sticking to trying to get a Ural.
  3. the link to the bike I'm talking about: http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/2007-DNEPR-...1QQcmdZViewItem and another more military minded one: http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/Super-Dnepr...1QQcmdZViewItem
  4. I'm on the east coast in the U.S. I saw the kits on Ebay, dirt cheap and always liked the classic bmw w/sidecar look. I like the urals and think the design with the driven sidecar is great. They come as kits for about $4500, and so would be a good long term project for my son and I. Might be ready by the time he can actually ride in it in another year or two(he's 8 right now).
  5. I've seen a couple of these kits on ebay, was just wondering if anyone has any knowledge of the DNEPR bikes. Looks like a BMW motorcycle with a sidecar.
  6. where do we get the mistral and how much? I've been looking to replace the stocker and it sounds like the Mistral is exactly what I'm looking for.
  7. Ok, I've removed the three bolts on the triple tree(one from behind each handlebar, and one near the tank), I then removed the two bolts that hold the instrument cluster to the triple tree. My triple tree clamp is still not budging, is there another bolt or two somewhere that I'm missing?
  8. That would be great to have, can you give us a general price, if you don't mind?
  9. I was shooting for something a little more eye catching and I didn't really think the black hugger goes that well with the bike. I thought it it looked too big and just stuffed under there. I think it now looks better and not as stuffed under there. thanks for the comments. I'm going too have too get the tank re-painted sooner or later but may do something completely different if I get the guts(like black and silver of some sort), so this will do until then.
  10. I agree with the albatross comment, I really liked the look without it on, but while I make the spring protecter I figured I might as well paint it red to see what it would look like. I've ridden it a bit and I probably will have to wipe it down every 500 miles or so, but no big deal. I clear coated it twice so it will do until I get the spring cover piece made. I'll post more pics when I paint the exhaust and peg hangers.
  11. The top triple tree clamp the the handlebars are screwed into, will anything happen if I loosen it up and take it off? I need to put on my convertibar clamps and just want to make sure I don't need to support the bike.
  12. There is a beautiful one on ebay, its located in Italy though. Hope this link works http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/V11-Le-Mans...1QQcmdZViewItem ebay rosso corsa
  13. What do ya'll think? Don't know if anyone else has ever painted the hugger, I think it looks pretty good. Painting the exhaust and footpeg hangers close to the porkchop colors too.
  14. Freekin' FA cup final is PPV only!! WTF? I pay $10 per month for foxsoccer channel and Goal TV niether of which is showing the Man U. vs Chelsea game. PPV wants $25, looks like I'll have to eat cup o' noodles for lunch this week. At least ESPN is going to show the Champion's league final.
  15. if swapping out the stock x-over for an aftermarket like the stucci or fbf, do you need the power commander? Does power change at all?
  16. Ok, gotta ask, where did you get the blue caps and what are the gauges on your triple tree?
  17. Either mg cycle or harpers carries a carbon hugger for about $300 USD. I also took of my hugger and am in the process of painting it red to match my LM. If it looks to squidish then I'll remove it for good.
  18. for those with the convertibars....did you get the flat bars or the 4* bend?
  19. Just got a pair of convertibar mounts and wondering whether to mount them above or below the clamp. So my question is how is handling affected if I lower the top clamp(and everything else involved) about 3/4 of an inch. How is handling affected if I raise the top clamp so that its almost even with the top of the tubes?
  20. Sitting here watching the Liverpool/Chelsea match, almost pee'd my shorts twice. Thought Liverpool won it in extra time but the Liverpool striker had his big toe offsides. And Chelsea with Drogba..... how many times could he have won the series by tying up the game? He must have missed two or three chances right in front of the goal. Guess its the horrid PK's
  21. Don't know much about levers, but is there any advantage to upgrading to these levers or are they purely a cosmetic upgrade.
  22. Want to buy a wheel hugger for a 2003 le mans.
  23. Although we don't get a lot of dutch futbol games here in the states, I'm pulling for Ajax. They were one of the first teams I ever saw play on tv here, I believe they were playing AC Milan when they had Roberto Baggio.
  24. I bought my le mans off a guy your size becuase it was way to small for him. The thing about these bikes is that they have a long reach to the bars and short reach to the pegs. I put on the motobits rearsets which give and extra inch or two and at 5'9" (30inch inseam) I feel a little cramped on longer rides. If you can't get your hands on one to test, try sitting on a chair and tucking your legs under the chair for a while(resting your feet on the legs of the chair). The distance between your hip bone and your heels will be about 16 inches.
