  1. De, my bike was running perfectly before I installed the new exhaust and it seems my carbs are no longer sync'd, I have one or two posts in the tech forum asking what the heck is wrong w/ my bike, and I've tried a couple different maps. Anyway, my bike NEEDS a tuneup. If the tuneup doesn't cure the problems I'm having then I will take it to FBF for a custom map.
  2. I'm sure this is in the wrong forum but I am looking for any reviews about them and if anyone has ever had them service their bike? I'm thinking of taking my bike to them for tuning and getting the PCIII custom map done. If there are no major issues then it looks like the 12k (oil change, adjust valves, etc) service will be $400 and the custom map will be $250. The wife is getting PO'd that I bought the exhaust and now the bike runs like crap and we have to shell out more $$$, given the fact that FBF is about 150 miles and rising gas prices....you get the picture. Anyway, just looking for anyone with experience with/at FBF.
  3. That may be correct because I definitely believe its running rich even w/o the power commander, I installed new plugs yesterday before trying the different maps and when I checked the spark plugs they were a completely black. So the bike will just sit until my shop opens up and I can get a full tune.
  4. What he said. My wide open throttle indicats a 97. And alas, I think I'm hosed. I tried the zero map and then tried a mistral muffler stock x-over map and the same stuff happens. I let it idle for a while and after about 20 mins it began to sputter at idle and die. Even when I would rev it in nuetral it would still sputter and then when I let off the throttle it would die. So it looks like I'll take it to the shop for a full tune.
  5. I'm not sure what a zero map means but I did see it on the PC site, but I was thinking about some of the comments and my spark plugs that indicate I may have been running a bit rich to begin with. So, I'm going to pull the PCIII and run the stock ECU and see what happens. I appreciate all the comments and advice.
  6. The map I got from Guzzitech is a map that he has and only gives to those that purchase from him; its for a high flow exhaust w/stock airbox for the 2003/4 V11. The one I pulled from the PC website is for a 2001 V11 with Mistral exhaust and x-over. My exhaust is a mistral x-over and FBF carbon mufflers; no other mods.
  7. I was using the map from Guzzitech for the high flow exhaust and x-over (stock airbox), I switched to the v11 map with mistral x-over and exhaust from the PC3 site. The maps are a little different and after switching the bike ran fine for about 30 mins before I started getting the sputtering this time between 3k and 4k rpm's. It appears that it didn't happen if I was going up through the rpm band but more so if I was staying at a steady rpm. So maybe I need to get the bike retuned?? and get the valves set to the .006 or .008 specs?
  8. It was fully tuned, balanced, etc. about 4k miles ago at the MG/Ducati shop in Maryland. The bike was running perfectly, then over the winter I added a full exhaust and PC3. Ran for about 150miles before I started noticing it sputtering at 4k rpm's.
  9. As some have read, I've got an airflow problem and my bike sputters around 4k. I checked the plugs and they are black; a burnt black like a piece of charcoal. My question now is if there is a way to increase airflow. How much would the FBF open airbox lid hlelp? Or do I get a different map? Thanks for the great help and advice.
  10. That's too bad, perhaps he didn't get the amount he was hoping for.
  11. Well, seems the addhesive didn't work as well as I would have liked, my bike started sputtering around 4k again. If I want to change the heat shielding, can I just go buy the stuff they sell at pepboys or autozone or do I need a special type for bikes/fiberglass tank?
  12. If your willing to part with the black front LM fairing pieces and the front wheel fender and ship to the U.S. I'll take them, just pm me the price.
  13. stormsedge, what did you guys use to reglue the shielding on the underside of the tank?? I lifted my tank and the shielding was all bunched up in front of the air box just like you said.
  14. I like the black front LM fairing pieces and the front wheel fender, don't know how much it would cost to ship to the U.S. though. Would save me from having to paint mine.
  15. I changed out the exhaust on my 2003 LM, Mistral x-over and FBF carbon pipes, installed the PC USB3 and map from Guzzi Tech. Ran fine in the morning at about 65F, it got up to about 80 today and on my ride home about 6 hours later my engine started sputtering and I had to keep revving the throttle to keep it running. Thought I might be running out of gas but filled up in 4 gallons. After filling up, bike didn't start for a few minutes then started up but sputtered for about 5 minutes as I rode on before returning to perfect/normal. Anyone with any ideas???
  16. Can't wait till Sunday!! Let the madness that is MotoGP begin Come on HOPPER!!!
  17. Thinking about repainting my tank because of all the paint cracking. Its a 2003 tank, anyone else get thier tank painted, what did you pay? I think the 2003 tank is fiberglass so I know I need someone who can paint fiberglass, but is there anything else I should look for?
  18. I didn't think there was any banked corners at Indy? I thought it was a flat track. Could ya'll possibly be confused with Daytona? I believe they've run AMA races at Daytona utilizing one of the banked turns. I stand corrected, it seems one of the corners is banked as stated before, although it is a shallow bank compared to Daytona's 31 degrees. 19. ok, fixed it more to match the OEM hangers and added the eagle. I think you guys are right that this style looks better. Will be getting a qoute from a guy shortly on how much it will cost to make these if anyone else is interested. need to see if I can get them in brushed aluminum or maybe just get them powder coated red or black. exhaust_hanger2.doc
  20. attached is a fullsize image of a one piece exhaust hanger I'm designing, looking for thoughts and opinions. I know there are some creative people out there so lets hear you. Note: The one thing missing from my design is that I would like to incorporate the eagle above the lettering, so imagine the eagle is above the "v" etched in black. exhaust_hanger.doc
  21. Was wondering if the fork springs for a 98-01 V11 would fit a 2003 v11? I think they have the same forks just not positive and I'm thinking about upgrading the fork springs to a set of wilburs but only see them listed for the 98-01 v11.
  22. I think that everyone that has dealt with rossopuro will atest to their exceptional customer service. Paolo had to send my cardan bar to the states twice because it was rejected by customs the first time. Its just too bad that there aren't many businesses that can equal rossopuro's customer service.
  23. Is it time for 2008 predictions yet??? I think the top 5 will remain largely unchanged with the exception of Hopkins. Don't think he'll do that well w/ the Kawi and will drop out of the top 5 but probably remain in the top 10. Is there a way you can tell who the rookies are on the motogp website? I know there was some talk about some good guys moving up to motogp from the lower 250cc class. Dovisioso and Lorenzo are the two standouts from last year's 250cc class, anyone else worth mentioning?
  24. So installed the PCIII, went to start and I get this ratcheting sound when I go to fire it up. Sounds like the starter is sitting there just grinding maybe the motor isn't getting any gas now???? Anyone have any ideas? I believe the map was loaded but am not positive. Never mind, installed new map and bike started right up.
