  1. +3, 2003 LM I go on a couple trips each year ranging from 2 to 3 nights with day rides being more frequent, and I've never seen another V11. Many people have stopped to look at my bike. Going to Gettysburg, Pa was funny because everyone and their mother is on a Harley and here I am riding through on my V11 that sounds like a small block Chevy according to my buds, needless to say I got a lot of looks/comments.
  2. I may just order the '08/'09 jersey, its actually pretty nice looking. As for Man U., seems that's the only English team most Americans know which puts them in the same league as the NY Yankee's who I despise. The only one of the "big 4" I like is Arsenal.
  3. I'm a big EPL fan (just ordered the Tottenham 3rd jersey from thier website:) and am looking for a David James jersey (The goalie version if possible), can anyone help me out?? I can't find one online, if someone in England can get their hands on one even if its not the goalie version, I would send you the money to buy it for me and pay you for your troubles if need be. Any help/takers??? Thanks, Wheelsucker (Matt in real life) FYI: My dumba$$ just checked the Portsmith FC website, they've got this season's jersey!! If you can get your hands on an '07-'08 let me know, may throw in a finder's fee. Also, need a size XL.
  4. Hey all, Here is the Dyno run, there was an "uncorrected" run that made about 1/2 hp less but here is the "corrected" final run. As far as power goes, its got power through the whole band so I'm very happy with the results and feel it was worth the money.
  5. As they say hindsight is always 20/20, and most of us could think of a 100 different ways to react to this situation differently and avoid the crash. Most of us agree that the rider was following to closeley especially for a dirt road, but who knows what the rider was thinking and how experienced he/she was (I assume it was a guy, but I've heard some manly women and don't want to offend any female v11 members:)
  6. any chance of a reference pic? I have no idea wha a G-B supertwin is besides a wild guess at "Great Britain supertwin" which there are no relevant google returns.
  7. So after installing a Mistral x-over and FBF carbon cans I was having some sputtering problems and dealer installed a K&N air filter. SO I got a custom map done for my PC3, low and behold I made about 73.5 HP. Let me tell you, this is the most powerful and fun 73.5 hp ever. I was guessing I was making about 85-90 hp, but whatever. This is the most fun bike ever, even though I refer to it as a "pig of a bike" sometimes. A friend said it sounds like a small block Chevy and in his words "the sweetest sounding motorcycle he's ever heard," especially when decellerating. And in regards to the bike, I think I need to upgrade the suspension because I'm now pushing this bike in the corners. I have absolutely no chicken strips on the tires and scared myself this weekend by how far I was leaning over in order to keep up with a buddy riding an SV650. On the upside, I and the buddy on the SV650 were running away from our buddy on a Duc 620 monster who both had previously left me in the dust; and yes we would wait for him, this was a semi-aggressive ride, not a race.
  8. Yeah, the Guzzi dealer in Md said he's got the 8v Griso and expects the Stelvio in the next month or two. He said one of the Stelvio's he's getting is a demo!!! So I'll be getting to test ride it at the very least. I also called a dealer in Ohio that is taking deposits on the Stelvio, he's supposed to be getting them in the next few weeks and expects the price to be $14,995.
  9. Anyone in the states have one yet? What's the going price? Seems its creating a lot of interest at the local shop here so I need to be first in line with the money if I decide I want one. I know its always better to wait and see, but the stelvio has me , looks like the perfect two-up touring bike.
  10. No I won't be trading it in anytime soon, I've ridden it to work everyday this week. Tuning was just a matter of putting all the pieces in the right place. I installed a full exhaust and then the bike ran like crap(w/&/wo a new fuel map), so I got a full tune and the mechanic put in a K&N, then the bike would like crap after about 30mins (on the stock ecu), so I loaded up the GuzziTech map and the bike is perfect again Like DeBenGuzzi, I would rather ride a slow bike fast, and yes my LM is very confidence inspiring.
  11. 1. Its sometimes a pain and very frustrating 2. you can go from a safe rider to an idiot in .1 seconds 3. the bike is now EXTREMELY dangerous...or maybe that's just my judgement 4. If this is a 425lb bike with 90HP, I don't want to know what a 400lb Duc 1098 is like 5. Redline comes a lot faster....and easier 6. Did I mention the bike feels/is REALLY REALLY FAST??? Since having gotten my tuning issues straightened out, I've had to remind myself a couple times to remain a responsible rider. Stay safe out there
  12. Hopper's probably taken to drinking heavily to rid him of his depression for leaving Rizla. I agree with Pierre that this has clearly got to be a crew or bigger problem.
  13. Well, I said screw it today and loaded the map I got from GuzziTech when I ordered the PCIII. Low and behold, there was no sputtering or anything for the 45 minute ride. Going to take it out on a hotter day for a long ride but as someone suggested, the bike may have been getting hot from the lean condition of the stock map. Only time will tell. oh yeah, the bike runs like a beast and pulls all the way to redline.
  14. The stock airbox is still in place, just has a high flow K&N filter in it now. I don't have the open airbox either but was contemplating getting it if I think it will help. Where is the sensor? or do I not need to worry about it since I have the stocker. I'm going to change to the stock x-over this weekend and see if that changes anything.
  15. So how do I relieve the vapor lock if that's what it is? I also didn't think that the 2003 models were prone to vapor lock because the fuel pump is in the tank but I thought that it would be something related to the increased heat from new full exhaust because the bike runs like a monster for about the first 30 mins before the sputtering stops. I did a search on vapor lock but it seems that people just pull the fuel hose or use and insulated fuel hose. Is there an easy way to fix this problem?
  16. 1. about 2 years 2. since I added the full exhaust this winter 3. yep 4. don't know what that means but when I turn on the ignition I can hear the hum presumably the fuel pump starting 5. Not sure on the 2003 models. I pulled into the gas station to refuel because I was getting low and the bike began to sputter. The plugs are a silverish color (I'm slightly colorblind) they aren't black(rich) and they aren't white (lean) so the bike appears to be getting the right mixture up to 4k rpm
  17. Just a quick question and I'm sure the answer could be one of a thousand things but.. with the new Mistral x-over and FBF carbon pipes it is creating a lot of heat. I had a full tune done and had a K&N put in adn the bike will run fine for about 20 minutes then starts to sputter and wants to die. I was stuck at the gas station yesterday because the bike would not restart and finally did after about 20mins. When I got it going again it would not really go above 4k RPM and sputtered starting at 4k RPM. I'm using the stock ECU map. Does this sound like the heat from the motor is causing fuel flow problems or my bike is not getting enough air?? I'm looking for a best guess because I'm getting to the point where I'm going to throw the stock stuff back on and possibly trading it in (for a better two up bike).
  18. Things got real interesting today with group A, I think that group C is going to be another exciting group for obvious reasons, and we'll see come Friday. Every group is exciting though and the next couple of days will be extremely telling. So exciting!!!
  19. I'm sorry but I DO NOT want the Italians to win it, glad they won the world cup and I love Serie A just as much as the Champions league and MLS, but I want to see a different country to win. I don't really like Ballack so I don't want Germany to win. Would like to see Holland, Spain, or Cech Rep., take it all.
  20. who you got winning the whole thing? I think this one's up for grabs between quite a few countries. Certainly Spain and Portugal are big contenders and I pick either one to win the whole thing. I work with a girl who grew up in Germany and swears Germany's time is here and Ballack will be "the guy" for Germany.
  21. Can someone explain the problems with the Kawasaki team?? Hopper is probably my fav rider in gp and I knew it was a mistake to go to Kawi for the next two seasons. Is Hopper just a bad rider or is Kawi just that bad?? I believe Kawi is just that bad, but why?? I think if Hopper had stayed with the Rizla Suzi team, he'd be in the top 10 if not the top 5 and he certainly wouldn't have the problems he's having.
  22. I agree with you in regards to a PCIII may actually make the bike run better, but I think I'll start with a full tune first and go from there. There are plenty of people not running the PCIII with aftermarket exhausts, don't know what that's doing to their engine and even the guy at the Guzzi shop says that his '04 w/ a Quat D doesn't have a PCIII and doesn't seem to run lean at all. My bike is running extremely rich as noted even by my wife who followed me the 5 miles to the Guzzi shop for service this morning. My bike sputtered most of the way but it got there; and suprisingly my wife agreed that should the full tune not correct the problems then we'll head up to FBF for a custom map on the dyno.
  23. before you took off the PC, did you try loading a zero map or did you completely disconnect it?
  24. I'm actually going to have my Md shop do the service, they are very good both in terms of service and support. Like many have said, I may not need the power commander and the Guzzi guy at the shop said that he ran a Quat D on his 2004 Ballabio w/ no problems on the stock ECU. So they will do the service and we'll go from there, but my guess is that most of you are correct in that a proper service will fix all my problems.
  25. They sure are, especially when you have two youngins'. Unfortunately the Peoples Socialist State of Maryland gives 70% of my paycheck to the wife in a divorce though Cheaper to keeper
