  1. I have found that ProGrip gel performed better than the OEM foam grips on my Sport 1100 for isolating my hands from the vibration. I've mainly used ProGrip 699 on that bike over the past ten years. You might give 'em a try.....

    8V / 4V

Ha Ha !!! That's funny !!! I went to the site and you're right... Someone needs to do a little proof reading...
  3. I've seen lots of people crash needlessly because of running too much pressure in the tires on their sporty bikes. Check your owners' manual, if you got one. Use those numbers as a baseline. The manual that came with my Nero Corsa recommends: Front: 2.2 BAR solo. 2.3 BAR two-up. That's 32 psi and 33 psi. Rear: 2.4 BAR solo. 2.5 BAR two-up. That's 35 psi and 36 psi. The manual that came with my Sport 1100 is close to these numbers, but suggests 2.2 BAR (32psi) solo and two-up in the front. 2.4 BAR solo and 2.6 BAR (38psi) two up for the rear... There are lots of opinions out there on tire pressures. Just remember that the numbers on the sidewall are Max pressure for the tire, not recommended pressure for daily riding... Be safe and enjoy your new-to-you Sport !!!
  4. The V11 Sport/LeMans handling goes away rather quickly when the rear tire is flat spotted in the middle. Pointy? Sport-touring: Metzeler Z6 Roadtec for about 7k miles of use. Sport: Bridgestone BT-014 or Pilot Power 2CT, but they last half as long as the Z6 Roadtec. Your pressure seems a little high for solo sporting use. I run 32f/35r or 33f/36r solo and 34f/38r two-up... Oh, welcome to the fold. These bikes are intoxicating/adicting !!!
  5. A Guzzi can steer fairly quickly with the proper tires. What tires are on your bike, how worn are they, and how much air pressure are you running? Guzzi spine-frame bike like "pointy" tires.

    v11 windscreens

Got anymore pix of your bike with that Gustafsson screen ???
  7. Sorry to hear you're parting it out. How's the list coming along?
  8. You didn't order the spacer kit ???
  9. looks like he has a radial master cylinder...
  10. On the Twisted Throttle site, http://www.twistedthrottle.com/article/view/189 , it says early Sport/LeMans "requires use of additional spacer kit to raise tankring". I'd ask them about the spacer kit when you call to order...
  11. There is a spacer that you can order when you order the mounting ring.
  12. Looking forward to seeing your report.

    Stelvio

Spoked wheels are more resilient than cast ones on rough surfaces...
  14. Looking great there Greg! Here's the one I've always liked:
  15. I suggest "pointy" tires. I've liked the Bridgestone BT-014, but lots of people like Michelin Pilots and some of them are pretty pointy in thier profile. You can also try a 60- or 65-series front and/or a 170-section rear. What tires are you currently running? Personally, I'd try changing tire type. If that doesn't work, change the size/profile. I suppose you could also lower the front end a little. The change that a good set of tires will make might surprise you.
  16. I have Roper Plates on both my Sport 1100 and my Nero Corsa. No problems with installing either. Great product !!!
  17. The carb idea is cool. No plenum on the intake, though. I've often thought that a Webber DCOE on a custom intake might be a fun project. The biggest problem I see with this bike is with the exhaust. I guess this guy doesn't go around curves because that thing has absolutely no ground clearance with the headers routed like that and mufflers along the bottom frame rails...
  18. Guzzi "rallies" are usually more like "campouts". The ones I've seen have been mostly attended by guys in thier 50s and 60s on some version of Guzzi's California. Many of them pull trailers/QuickCamps/etc. Most of them camp at the site. Guys in thier 40s are the "young guys" in the crowd. The campouts are family oriented. Some people bring spouses/kids/grandkids. It's no "Harley Biker Rally", for sure. No bikini contests, no strippers, no Molly Hatchett or Lynard Skynard cover bands... SoCal may be different, but I'm hoping to see a lot more Sport/Lemans/Daytona/V11 Sport/V11 Lemans riders... The trackday will probably be a good time.
  19. Nice !!! And super-light !!! I wonder if they would survive road use ???
  20. I went with Hepco & Becker. I had a 40L/30L setup from my Quota, so I sourced a 30L/40L (BMW) set on Ebay and ended up with two sets of bags. I bought the racks from Eurotech and installed them myself one afternoon. As a bonus, the racks make nice tiedown points when hauling the bike, and nice lift points when changing rear tires without a rearstand. Oh, and 2-up hasn't been an issue. No complaints from several pillions...
  21. Yes... A 3.5x17 front mag wheel will weigh between 6 and 7 lbs. A 3.5x17 forged aluminum wheel will weigh around 8 lbs. Contrast that to my OEM Sport 1100 front wheel that weighs 14 lbs sans brake rotors... (weighed it myself)... Yes... Big difference...
  22. I'd love an MGS serie. I don't even care what motor is in it. Make it available for $15,000 or less and I'm a serious customer. Otherwise my next sportbike will be a Ducati 848 Superbike. I don't care a thing about Aprilia and think it's unfortunate that Guzzi is owned by Aprilia/Piaggio... It's very unlikely that I'll ever own anything sold with a Piaggio or Aprilia badge...
  23. My feelings exactly. These should mount up just fine and keep the bars narrow.
  24. Why not? They would install just like the MPH risers. Remove the OEM bar from the OEM clamp. Install the riser into the OEM clamp. Install the OEM bar into the aftermarket riser. Don't know which bars you have, but my Nero Corsa has clipons above the triple clamp. The bars are two piece, consisting of a short bar and a mounting clamp. No reason I can see that these wouldn't work just fine on my Nero Corsa... One advantage I see is that they would keep the bars narrower than what the MPH risers allow... Do you have some kind of 1-piece clipons, or something???
  25. Interesting. You got a link for those?
