  1. Thanks Dave. I have a big handful left to do before unvieling the dyno graphs... though I'm near 80 with (the smaller) Cal/Jackal throttle bodies and intake manifolds. It's still largely a work in progress. Pics? How's this one: Oh, ok... thanks. "Rat bike" here generally means unkept, abused and neglected. Mad Max is a line I keep hearing to describe it, perhaps that is most fitting.
  2. Yes it is, and yes it was. Great day of riding. jihem, curious to know why you'd consider my Jackal a ratbike? Raw steel stock tank, atop nearly all clear-coated carbon and go-fast bits... V11S motor, wheels and front end. My new hand-built 2-1 reverse-cone muffled megaphone goes better then it sounds, and looks. Just ask any of those who have ridden with it/me.
  3. felix, the JW setup is a nice "kit", however it will not fit into the stock headlight "bucket." I had to retro an old school Guzzi bucket to work. Full write up on GuzziTech.com within a week or so. If anyone purchases the above "H4-Hi/Lo" I'll be curious to hear how that works. Their website is a bit contradictory on it being an actual Hi and Low beam, even though that's what the name states. I have a garage full of other bikes I'd purchase it for... if it works.
  4. J, single wall with same ID. Brushed/as delivered stainless or we could polish them for a few extra bucks. I'm going to say, for right now, that they will be without the front x-over, unless there is a HIGH interest in those wanting them. I have both pairs, so I might do some dyno testing (with air/fuel data) to show/see what works best. I will most likely follow this with a full system, most likely a 2-1 for use on my (soon coming) V11 Racebike.
  5. Alright, so I too have fell victim to the lackluster V11 Sport/Le Mans headers... which leads me to ask how many of you would be interested in a high quality replacement? I will be doing a set for myself, but was wondering how many of you might be interested in a set(?). Cost might be @$350~400 USD. These will be full *quality* stainless, and will most likely include collars and/or shims. They'll be guaranteed until you crash them. PM or e-mail me direct if you're interested. I may try and check back here this week. If no takers, I'm sure I'll find something else to loose money on. The guy fabbing these will be SoCal's newest Guzzi pipe builder, who just finished a rockin' (dyno-proven) set-up for my Jack-All;
  6. Heh, fantastic. Just what I needed. Got the new HID set-up working. Full report on GuzziTech.com coming soon. Thanks again(!).
  7. Guys, I've had my older LeMon headlight off for quite some time, and need to know which position each wire/connector goes to on the OEM H4 plug to the back of the light/element. I have the diagram, but need to know the actual position (i.e. left, right, top). Thanks for any/all quick replies.
  8. Cool, bring it with you on Dec. 3rd. I'd like to see a demo.
  9. My very last post ever here in regards to SoCal events; http://socal-guzzi.com/PHPBB/viewtopic.php?t=497 Those few who care to participate with the SoCal group can find us on the above webboard. Thanks for the bandwidth here Jaap.
  10. Folks, thanks for all of those who took the time (and braved the perfect weather) to attend the EMF-W II here in San Diego last weekend. Photos and words are posted here; http://socal-guzzi.com/PHPBB/viewtopic.php?t=478 We have two great events lined up also for Nov. & Dec. Be sure to check out the Moto Events Calendar at www.SoCal-Guzzi.com The SoCal Guzzi Campout (Rally) for next year will be June 30th-July 1 (Sat.-Sun.), 2007. More/all details here; http://socal-guzzi.com/PHPBB/viewtopic.php?t=493 (please post comments for consideration on that webboard please) -- AND -- The 2008 MGNOC National Guzzi Rally will be June 24-26th (yes, Tues.-Thurs.) as noted here; http://socal-guzzi.com/PHPBB/viewtopic.php?t=471 -- mark your calendars now for one of the best Guzzi gatherings ever.
  11. Guys/Gals, thanks those that took the time (outside of the decent weather, though forecasted otherwise) to attend. Those who did made the thousands of dollars and months of time investment worth it. A few photos here; http://www.flickr.com/photos/84238058@N00/ Some of the convo here; http://socal-guzzi.com/PHPBB/viewtopic.php?t=478
  12. Ok guys... I have to disagree here (and I'm making myself late to my rally for this), as I hate to see misstated facts published. Progressive springs are GREAT for 99% of the street riding V11 owners found here, and with the high range of 1.1kg of the Wilbers, getting to the ideal spot (sag, etc.) is as simple as following the directions provided with the springs (oil weight and capacity, etc.) for each riders weight. I think some of those here are being a bit excessive (no names mentioned ) as to making things "perfect." As a near life-long racer, linear springs are great for track use, and those who explore the limits of their bikes daily (most of whom opinions I'm reading here don't even get close), and if you don't mind a fairly firm ride (I run 1.05kg linears in my killer Jackal which are great when pushed hard), just be aware they provide a fairly harsh ride at most lower (g-load) speeds. My input for the record. Now get to the Rally you two.
  13. So for those coming today, Friday, leave a little early to avoid the forecasted "evening showers." Otherwise, it looks like we should have a very decent weekend. No rain for the last several months, and yet again, dampness falls on our parade. Looks like a date change is in order for '07.
  14. Going to shoot to be there between 11am-12... 1 at the latest as of right now. I may be staying in Fallbrook on Thursday night, so if so, I'll be there earlier.
  15. One last attempt/bump. Day rate is $10 for those cheap-ass bastards. See everyone there.

    Ohlins rant, or

J-M, Glad to hear you unknowingly kept'er upright, and you in one piece. That really would've sucked to go asphalt surfing due to a nearly new blown shock(!?). I highly recommend Penske for spines as well, however... For those interested, I am/GuzziTech.com is a dealer for all of Wilbers products, which I prefer for price against Penske twin shocks for Tontis (emulsion-type @$2300/pr); http://www.guzzitech.com/WilbersSuspensions.html Just my $.03 p.s. J-M, you coming to the MotoFest next weekend?
  17. Seven days out today. Should be late enough for you last minute planners (much like myself). See you next Friday. And from the L.A. Rally last year, no dam excuses.
  18. Less then 30 days out... please please be sure to get your registration in folks. Todd
  19. Come on, you know you want to... come ride amongst the best roads and people. We're less then 60 days out, so please register as it helps immensely in planning. Feel free to contact me direct with any questions, or post to the SoCal-Guzzi.com webboard.
  20. All details here; http://socal-guzzi.com/PHPBB/viewtopic.php?t=26
  21. Dennis, so did you run the actual "Superbikers" on ABC back in the late 70's/early 80's? This was founded by Gavin Trippe, and infact did run at (the now gone) Carlsbad Raceway (very sad). All the photos I have show moto-x bikes with 19" dirt-track wheels and tires. I haven't seen any photos of knobbie-clad bikes. Jeff Ward who won a few then, still does very well in AMA Supermoto, and is infact leading the points in the premiere class right now. AMASupermoto.com
  22. That was shot mid-last year at Apex just outside of Vegas. There's another track here in SoCal that most of those guys go to while in town, Grange, where this was shot of me last year testing the Corona/Pacifico Huskies for Moto Euro Mag; Fun for sure.
  23. I rode (Tom's old, my new) Le Mans up to Alice's last Saturday to try and avoid the heat at Laguna Seca (we abandoned the day at the track). Our route included Rt. 9, 35 & 84. It didn't work too well, but the Coast ride home through Santa Cruz sure was nice. JediOne and I had a great day of about 350 miles or so. I'll post a few photos as soon as I get them from Jedi.
  24. And what a great day it was. Glad you made it David. Pics and words here; http://socal-guzzi.com/PHPBB/viewtopic.php?t=186 Rachethack, et al, where were you guys?
