  1. Crooz, that was used ,albeit in fine shape, and with Ferracci selling them for 239.00 new,the extra 34.00 sounds like a bettter value if you wanted a Ferracci. There seems to be less reported problems with the Stucchi.I think you can get them for around 350.00. factor in time and finding someone to weld and coat the Ferracci it seems like a wash. I'll go with the one that most people here, have given good reviews(Stucci) as opossed to the one(Ferracci) that has had SOME fitting, loosening problems. Michael
  2. Saw the piece on Speed about Guzzi, hope you did too,and the Guzzi rep pronounced it "Nor-ja,"sounded like Georgia.
  3. I'm also looking.Saw that Ferracci was selling a few on EBay for $239.00,but heard here, that they were sub-quality to the Stucchi.
  4. Yes,yes,yes.. Pics,info Please,...!
  5. Nice Richard! That red along with Rosso M. and Nero Corso are my favs. This helps support my argument that the beautiful design of the V11 and the MGS are universal.Even cruiser types can appreciate them. The Black Breva,oh, er, ah ,...the Sport 1200 is Not, the answer. Please Oh please Guzzi, give us another work of art!!
  6. Everybody made it home under their own power,...eventually.That is the only thing that matters.I'm sure our loved ones love us more than we love our Guzzis. I was on Piuma yesterday ,oblivious to this incident, would have driven with a different perspective if I had known. Also dont like riding in groups because of the possibility of this happening,or space out more to help prevent it.Not suggesting this was any of the riders fault, just looking for a way to give myself and everyone else that little extra edge to survive.Maybe good skills saved our brothers here. Saw many cruiser riders side by side yesterday ,and always shrug when I see this.Obviously they're much better riders than us!
  7. That would make a great country song,...."I'm not Gary,my name is JR,....." Thanks for the info JR
  8. Crooz, I got my MG Tis from Moto International They may still have a set. Also Todd at MPH showed me the M4 Carbons and he felt they were of the highest build quality.I got my grubby hands on them and they did fell ,Very well made. They will also take the ugly M4 plate off and put a sweet looking replacement on it.Dont know if they make a Ti but think they do.PS made in the US! Michael
  9. Hi Gary I tried to PM ya, got kicked back.I'm in Dee -troit for Wings games and am off tomorrow and figured I would take your advise and check out Euro Cycles.Do you have an address for them? Thanks, Michael
  10. Hi docc, The idle was perfect before this sudden problem .Someone put on the idle adjust screws and balance knob a yellow thread-lock type paint.I tried to adjust the idle screws and they were very tight,i assume this threadlock is doing the intended job.On the previous thread about a deteriorating boot, someone said it would make it idle high if the boot was compromised, anyone agree and explain in simple terms why this would affect idle?So since the bike was running perfectly before this, replacing the boot should cure my problem?Who in the states would be the best resource for them? Thanks, MZ
  11. Hi Guys, Took Scura out for a ride a few days ago,had been running perfectly ,several rides, last couple of weeks,no problems. Went out a few days ago and about 20 mins into the ride,it started to sputter and back fire, surge and revs shot up to 3K when I came to a stop.FF's Sake!! : I pulled over and the first thing I checked was the fast idle lever.I have not been able to move it since Ive owned it and was on my list of things to fix this spring and it was moving freely all of a sudden.I had checked it a few days ago and it was stuck then. The rubber boot that meets right cylinder,(intake port?)was cracked and deformed like someone over tightened it at one time,it'll have to be replaced.definately passing unwanted air. How do I adjust the idle, the only reference I could find to it in the shop manual and owner's manual is adjusting the small screws under the throttle bodies? with a vacumeter. Is this true? You cant just turn them till the idle is correct? What is the white knob on the left side down by the throttle linkage? Any thoughts would be appreciated!
  12. Baldini, What country/version is your bike? Thanks, Michael
  13. Ouiji,Ouiji,Ouiji,....!!!! WTF!!
  14. Hal I'm gonna be out of town a lot during May,but I'll PM ya when I get back in June, maybe we can hook up.I ride a lot in during the week as most of my work is on weekends. Michael
  15. Hi Guys, Could you guys take pics along the way to show you progress?I'm planning on doing the Ram swap and it would be of great help to me and others who are planning on doing the switch. Does anyone else have pics of the motor removal? Thanks, MZ
  16. I'm planning to be out this week,Thurs,Fri,Sun in the Eastern Catskills,Woodstock,New Paltz/Gunks.I know a great 3 reservoir circle trip thats all twisties.Takes about 3-4 hours. Anyone want to plaaay?
  17. Mirrors would look sweet on V11 ,hopefully you could tell a Corolla from a cop in them, unlike the V11's!
  18. Hi Bill, Here's a link to MG cycle.http://www.mgcycle.com/clutch.html They used to list a model for V11 ,dont see it now but my have been an over site on their part. They were listed for $499.00 a few months ago for the V11now $545.00 for similar models.Good job on pumping up the dollar Dubya! Im jealous, youv'e got some of the best roads in the country.Done several trips up north of San Fran through Eureka, just awsome! Let me know if ya find anything cheaper as I'll be looking later in the season. Michael
  19. Mark that is one ugly picture :!: Has anyone had or know someone who's had a failure on an US spec bike. There's some debate that the US clutches are not affected. All I know is that clacking at idle is not confidence inspiring! I'm planning on tearing it down at the end of the season to have a looksee.Cross my fingas till,.......
  20. Hi KB, Do you remember what the RAM cost? How bout the switch? How much time, aggravation? Thanks , Michael
  21. I saw a sweet Burgandy(03?)naked in Union Square today in Manhattan ,somebody from here?Looked and sounded Sweet! Michael
  22. Does anybody have and BAD experiences with the FBF conversion kit?Iv'e only trusted stock air filters to keep out the bad stuff on all my past bikes. Should I worry about particle trespassing into my into my nether regions,or am I being overly caustious ? I got a MG Ti kit and am thinking of going the Stucchi xover/ToddPC3/Dyno Solutions route and am wondering if the extra breathabilaty is worth the risk of doing damage down the road. Also I would assume that at some point FBF will stop making their filter as a few of their V11 parts are being dropped from their catalog. Could you use a stock MG filter in the kit? Link to kit ,http://www.ferracci.com/store/cart.php?m=product_detail&p=265 Thanks, Michael
  23. I talked to local auto parts store and they said that a some type of thin coat of protective anti-corrosive is applied to plunger at the factory and that it's not necessary to add any lubricant.I didn't ,put it together and everythings workin perfect.
  24. Hi Daniel, Sorry to hear you had the same incident. Why the hell would they put the ground connecter 2 inches from the pos post is beyond me.Must have been 2 for 1 Grappa day at local cafe ,when the enginers OKd that one.I have a thin rubber mat that was from my old VFR that covered the battery so this wouldn't happen on that bike. I'll take a piece off and fit it to cover the ECU so this doesn't happen again. Luckily when the Battery Tender clip slipped off, touched the ECU post and me taking it off was probably a total of half a second. This might have saved me. Where in the harness did you start at?I'm hoping I just fried the solenoid now that things are working properly but just in case something comes up,it may help to know where the problem was. I know now I'll be extremely carefull in the future whilst working on anything electronic on the bike. Michael
