  1. I believe Paul mentioned in another post that the Alpina's are actually a little heavier. But I agree, they are beautiful.
  2. I too have been caught up in the moment. A friend of mine has a buell xb12r. He took off and I ran him down. Luckily he had the year with five speed gear box. Looking down as I passed him I saw 140mph. Serves him right for calling her "My Grandfather's Bike." I don't remember the tach reading either. I don't think she was too terribly close to the red. 7ish sounds about right. Still a tad left. The speedo might not be accurate, but I was please to see her atleast lying about being able to cover the the whole clock. I must admit, since I've seen the speedo up that high, I'm not as tempted to see it up that high again. I guess this time the cat survived the curiousity. The one thing that goes through my mind is getting caught, just to see some hillbilly drag my bike up his flat bed on her side, as she's taken to police impound to be raped and pillaged. Stay safe guys.
  3. Not to question intelligence or suggest the obvioius, but have you tried pressing down on the seat while turning the key? There may be pressure on the mechanism. Best of luck to you.
  4. Isn't Barber the most amazing collection. It's almost too much to take in. Hope you enjoyed it as much as I did.
  5. ARP Superior Moly Lube is only meant for lubricating the threads and contact surface of fasteners for more accurate torque specs by minimizing friction. I wouldn't use it for anything other then that. It sounds like that probably isn't what you're after. I've been running a Motul Full Synthetic without an additive, and so far so good. I might give the Redline a shot this time around.
  6. I'm sure we've all had our goofs. I'm just glad to hear another happy guzzi ending.
  7. I'm no international traveler, but as soon as my contract is done with verizon, I will be a trendy new IPhone owner. I haven't had any problems at all with verizon, other than the fact that they don't have an IPhone. If for some reason I change my mind, the Blackberry Storm, through verizon, looks like they're trying to copy they IPhone. And they both offer a 3G network. But unless I'm miss informed, the Storm will only work off of the 3g, and can't pick up on wi fi hot spots like the IPhone. Don't get stuck in a S#!++y contract. Best of luck with the your cell phone hunting!
  8. Those would look nice. I might have to swap out. My crg's are hand me downs from an 02 ducati monster 750 with stock bars. I'm using the expanding fastener bar end inserts, even though our clip on's are threaded inside. It still grabs on. Hope that helps. But I'm sure someone here will soon tell you EXACTLY what you need to know before wasting any cash.
  9. Compliments on the new edition! She's beautiful. I'm trying to collect one bike from each of the Italians. I'm up to one right now. atleast i started with the right one.
  10. Ducati Multistrada Kawasaki Versus Suzuki Vstrom. No offense to any owners of course, and I know they're function over form, but jeez. I also agree strongly with the orginal list.
  11. I know there are hardcore BMW owners out there that have had them all there life, But I've noticed that alot of the owners I meet are older people that need that BMW posture to take it easy on their back. Most of the other's are experiencing a mid life crisis and don't want to look like a redneck if they buy a Harley.
  12. I've been complimented on my street fightered Hayabusa before. I would get pretty mad about it, but the people that say that are usually posers or someone that can't keep up with all the alpha numerics and Hayabusa is the only name that they can remember.
  13. Ferracci has them pretty cheap. But they took forever to send them to me so I had to pick up a pair of Ducati stems that were probably the exact same thing only twice as much. They are definitely a must have.
  14. I bought my scura with 9600 miles on it, with a whine in 3rd gear. I used it to keep up with what gear I was in until I learned the RPM to MPH comparison. I've put 6k on it and it's not getting any louder. I'll address it if it gets worse. Keep an eye on your fluid level and condition. You might even be able to quiet it down with some nice gear oil.
  15. definitely isn't a chip. My bike's previous owner cut one of the heads in half to tell it apart from his Stone Metal key, and it still worked. Guess he wasn't aware of using different key fobs for identification.
  16. I agree, it does go great with the bike. Nice job. Have you thought about a 3M clear stone guard. I know they don't have a pre cut sheet for that but you can form it like window tint and possibly do it yourself, or find an installer. Just a thought. I hate paint and bodywork too, and i'd hate to see you waste your efforts.
  17. were your intake boots cracked badly enough to allow debris into the engine? or were they just cracking as in drying out and looking ugly?
  18. Hello Bubba Zanetti. it's your old pal the toe cutter

  19. I have a ferracci crossover that I recently removed in favor of my mistrals lower end. And I've thought about making a custom piece by cutting it towards the back end of where the crossover begins to separate again and having a single megaphone style tip welded on exiting either left or right at around the same place the exhaust comes from underneath the bike now and let it end just behind the porkchop. Hopefully that's a detailed enough mental picture for you guys. Anyways, my question is would that hurt the motor running it that open. I'm sure the neighbors and authorities can't wait to hear how pissed off that's going to sound, but i'm not concerned with that. Just don't want to hurt the bike. Thanks guys
  20. I've seen mike's site before. I can probably find it again. I'll definitely check that out.
  21. with all the hardware, the headwork and the dual sparking, that doesn't seem like a bad price at all. If i were to actually decide not to leave the engine stock that would definitely be the way to go. The new head sounds like it's not worth the trouble or even possible for that matter. The main reason I want to dual spark is for the ferracci drop in pistons. I've notice on here that alot of people are having problems with street gas without the dual plug setup. Oh well. I guess I've got some money to spend either way. Thanks for information
  22. It may very well be cheaper to have the V11 heads machined, but I think it would be nice to have that factory reassurance. Just wondering. Hope no one else has asked already. I hate when people do that.
  23. #281 is in Atlanta, Ga USA
  24. Well, I've had a bit of misfortune. Needless to say I need the whole driveshaft for my 02 Scura. If anyone could help, just give me a price. Hopefully I can do better here than at the dealership. Thanks everyone
