I had a VERY upsetting Thanksgiving Day. We live out in the country... I was washing my Truck in my driveway when I heard a Car approaching (up the Road) at a high rate of speed then all of a sudden as it came by our house it lost control and started a skid (and made one hell of a racket). It's skid had it now going up the road sideways at I would guess 75 mph. It went off the road on the other side as it passed my driveway, then it went into the graveled parking area (still sideway, almost backward now) where our neighbor has like 200 feet of retail rental space. When it hit the gravel it's wheel and rims were spewing rocks onto the metal sided building and several car parked there. 15 yards before it hit the corner of the second building it's rims dug in and it started an airborne flip. Then it hit the corner of the building as the car was exactly on it side (at 90deg). The corner of the building hit at the base of the windshield and the longer rear section of the car caused it to rotate on around going into the building front and then being stopped by two parked cars next to the building. I've dropped my stuff and started running toward the scene (approx 70 yards) and I get there as the first of 5 passengers crawls out the sunroof. The car is still running but making one hell of a noise. It quits as I get there. Then I see the 19 year old girl that was thrown from the car lying bent and facedown beside the car. I think she came out thru the rear window. Second person out of the car is a little 3 year old blonde girl. Everyones screaming, and the kids crying and bloody. Then her mom get out screaming for here daughter & very bloody. Another boy gets out, and lastly the 20 year old Drunk driver crawls out the sundroof. It's total freaking caos an I'm still the only one there to help. They all get from the car an I'm standing over the the 19 year old girl wondering what I can do to help her. One of the occupants come there screaming for her to be OK, I have to make them leave her alone. I can tell she's really hurt, or dead, then I see the pool of blood growing on the ground under her head. I insist they leave her alone and not move her. I called 911 on somebodys cellphone and have help coming but I know it’s going to be too late for the girl. The Driver is pacing and cursing loudly, and highly upset. A male passer by stops as my daughters boyfriend arrives from across the road. Ambulance and firemen arrive at the same time.. and I had to get out of there... and walked back home. Besides, I'm not the nosey type. 15 minutes later as the ambulances left I walked back across the road to see the girl covered in a blanket, dead. THen I find out that the driver tried to run off behind the buildings and across a pasture. My daughters boyfriend and the male passer by had to go tackle him and drag him back. The passerby actually had to hit him in the head several times with his fist as they both fought him. Then he fought the paramedics and cops when they got him back to the scene. Man, this whole ordeal upset me more than I expected. I'm pretty tought, but this accident bothered me a lot last night. Today as pretty as the weather was here I didn't wish to ride any of my 3 motorcycles... and I've actually considered selling them all and stopping my bike riding. I've been riding for 30 years... but there are just too many idots, cellphone drivers and drunks on the highways now-a-days. To see that type accident and watch that young girl die right in front of me was too much. Geezzz. I suppose I'll eventually get over this.

I dropped by the Ole Folks Home (Harley Davidson Dealership) this weekend to possibly get some of their wrinkle paint. A regular sized spraycan was...... $23.00 !!! I told them to keep it.

Buell probably sells more of these footpegs than any other part they have... (even considering how frequently Buells breakdown). In the past I have installed these pegs on a Kawasaki ZX12, and a Suzuki SV1000s... They fit practally all sport bikes and all the individual model bike forums mention these Buell pegs as an option.

I really don't find much Technical Knowledge in this posting... mostly just a bunch of nonsence. So my question is; is there not more experience out there on the various methods to remove the wrinkle paint. I have noticed that under the wrinkle paint is a black engine paint. So if one were to sandblast the wrinklepaint they would also remove or damage the black engine paint as well. Therefore we appear to have two options. One, sandblast everything throughly leaving the engine grey metal, or blast everything and repaint the engine black. I have alway felt like I would eventually get a smallish sandblasting machine, and use its small handheld blasting tube/attachment to detail & remove the wrinkle paint up to certain points that are accessable on the engine. Then repaint the black in these same areas. Although not completely removed in all areas this would be a vast improvement over what I have now. I don't care to dissassemble the engine components to entirely refinish it. Just looking for more knowledge and experience that I find currently posted prior in this thread.

I have had, or do have, Arai's, HJC's, Fulmer's, Icon, & KBC. Everyone's head is different. For me I've become a KBC fan (have 5 of them currently). THey fit me well, a good product, removable interiors, great looking shell designs & above all GREAT CUSTOMER SERVICE!

The US beats this 'Price OF Freedom' banner all the time. What is all this freedom we have vs most other countires? Do these other countries have severe taxes to pay in support of already rich lawmakes? Do they have permit's and or fee's on practally every service they seek to undertake or perform. Do they have to buy licenses if they with to drive, hunts, fish, whatever? DO they have to register their cars. DO they have to get their cars inspected yearly? DO they have to maintain all this or not be allowed to drive or own? DO they have to pay one docotr before they can be referred to a specialist to treat their sickenss? DO they have to pay 50% of everything they make to their government? Do they have their phone & internet conversations monitored. Do they have spy satallites watching their property? Does their goverment invade other countires at will? This administration has used FEAR to serve their purposes. If they would have worked half as hard at making peace as they have at creating hatred, we and the world would be much better of now.

I guess one positive is that it provides varity... sort of like having 3 wives! (downside to this is; 1's a complete bitch, another an airhead, and the other a whiney ass)

Amen! Tell it all brother .... I do feel a bit better this week about being American ... as folks just gave Bush a wake-up call in the elections.

An Observation: When women reach the age of say... 45... they become freakin Looney Toons? Anyone agree or disagree ?

As I'm new to my 2002 LeMans and winter is approaching....I was wondering what everybody's common practice was for cranking a cold V11's? I have found my throttle advance to be pretty much useless, even when warm. I have tinkered with it, even changed the spring on the end of the cable. I can't get it to advance the throttle more than like 1/8", nor can I get it to remain fully engaged (it always returns itself partially). If it were to wrok properly and advance the throttle more, would you guys use it on the initial cold start before turning the ignition key? My LeMans seems to be a bear to get cold started, often requiring like 6 attempts before it fires. Looking for thoughts and advice.

So my friend... what would be the going rate. I will have no use for them once removed. Send me a message with you thoughts. I can let them go once I get new ones.

Are there any oversized head guards available in the U.S.? I'm looking for either oversized ones for protection, or possibly custom replacements. If in Europe, are their sales locations that are reasonably priced and will ship to the US?

As the supply in the US is limited, I'm looking for Moto Guzzi Clothing items. Jacket's, Long Sleeved T-shirts, ect... I can wear both Large & XL sizes. New or Used.

New novice Guzzi owner needs to know about the Tenni. SO asside for the limited production numbers and the color... what's different about a Tenni vs. a Lemans? I have since found the answer in another post. Sorry. So basically all you get is the green paint, 2 seats, a serial number, and Carbon Cans? So per the book, how much more is a Tenni worth vs an identical LeMans? I would guess approx $900 ???

FYI... 2 weeks ago I spotted a Tenni For Sale at the BMW Dealership of Daytona Beach, Florida. I didn't check its number. Sorry. Not sure if it's on your list already or not.

Quick questions: Somewhere during the past week as part of my effort to learn as much about my new LeMans as I could, I found a website that offered entire parts diagrams for each are of the bike. Since I have been operating from 3 different computers at 3 different work locations I saved the website as a favorite. However now I need the diagrams and I'm not at the work computer that I saved it to. Help please!

Can someone please post a detailed photo of this installed screw mechanism.

I was just noticing the headlight adjustment hole on the front of my fairing, then I looked inside to see how it worked and I noiced that their was no screw nor adjustment bolt aligned with the hole. In fact no screw or bolt whatsoever. Just the two big adjustment arms, one having a nut attached. I tried to move the adjustment arm by hand and it was solid, would not budge. So my question is: Was there ever a screw/bolt there from the factory? If so, mine has vibrated loose and fell out.
