  1. excellant stuff...I read that that The good Dr's racer shad all the 3 brakes linked so presumably it was the hand lever which operated them.
  2. Nahhh, those are standard 35 or 40mm guzzi forks. Nice bike but a bit garish though!

    Test Rode A V7

Nice report Orson and interesting to see how you were won over by the small bloc engine. One thing that has been consistent since the V7 classic launch is people crying out for the big bloc lump to be used in the small bloc frame....can't see how that would be remotly possible without a complete redesign and if that were the case I would much rather see the Iffogrifo put into production instead as the mods to the small bloc done then give it a much better power to weight ratio . Chris
  4. Saw in the papers at the weekend that Alitalia was at the brink financially and looking for more govt handout....
  5. Thanks to everybody for the suggestions. Dave and I rarely have time off simultaneously so nothing further has been attempted yet. Another thing I can't figure out is where the blinking lights are on the ecu .As I understood it, you plug the testing lights into the ECU but we dont appear to have the plug in.This is my first experiance with injection systems as i've always avoided that stuff as I know that there will be some learning curve to tackle...now's the time !!! Chris
  6. Well the pump definatly primes .We will check out the senser but he doesn't have the unit to check the codes with. The bike lives right next to the Ocean so the air is very salty...the state my T3 got in and still ran perfectly was remarcable !! Thanks
  7. Back in West Cork Ireland and been trying to get a good freinds V10 centauro to start. There are no sparks on either coil and prior to my envolvement another mate got it running for a short while by cleaning the connectors. This guy reckons that the ecu could well be faulty and we are looking for someone in either the republic or UK who could test and repaire the ecu if needed.Thye bike used to run lovely and has probebly been rechipped at an early date but still has the standard colostomy bag and exhausts. Cheers !

    Stelvio

Yup , I'm definatly a Luddite : that new fairing design is completely yuk to my eyes . Maybe it's not definitive or other views will make sense...
  9. sorry jaap but i agree with these comments... it really seems that we have lost our identity and this new format is'nt as user friendly initially. what were the reasons for the change ??? On the other hand at least you are back on line and I'm sure we are all gratefull for all your work!!!!!!!!
  10. Pin it on Bush !!!! logically if the battery is flat then no go with the starter motor...or anything else on the bike. You need a voltmeter to check the voltage in the battery which should be at least 13 volts once the engine is running, If less, then your charging system is sick or dead.To be honest it doesn't sound like the starter is the problem. Has the bike been in regular use ??? Cheers
  11. Hi , try HMB Guzzi in Germany...175 euro which is about as cheap as they get . Alternatively , there is another German guy who was offering a mitsubishi conversion for euro 200 which seems like a better alternative. harold.quirl@t-online.de good luck !!
  12. "I tire of dealing with fools" Well then don't bother ,stay on topic, leave out the bulls--t comments and stop behaving like a gobs---e !!!!! you will be doing us all agrat favour :
  13. I must apologize for being off topic ... as for Race's usual verbose and completely speculative comments on my political affinities and racial origins they are unfortunately WRONG. You have absolutely no idea who I am or what I believe in so please stop making rash and offensive assumptions , and limit your postings to the subject concerned by this forum : motorcycles and namely V11's . For your info I have read the thread allude to and was absolutely gobb-smacked at the the selfishness and stupidity expressed by those who denie any human input into global warming.I did not post as the thread has NOTHING to do with the forum's subject. Our own political views are personal and should remaine so . That is why democracy operates from a secret ballot box.If we really have to express our views then there are many much more suitable places on the net to discuss them . Polluting this board with irrelevant and contentious comments is disrespecting the vast majority of the posters.Your sort of behavior has seen the demise of other boards as posters got fed up being insulted and trawling through lot's of unrelated bullshit. Iinterestingly it seems that this off topic rants are usually started by people slagging off "the left ' whatever that means these days. You have proven that you can contribute plenty of interesting if long winded info on bikes which is fine. Please keep it at that , grow up and get a life...
  14. Nice find Belfast but I'm affraid that the hole spacing and diameters are all wrong Now , if we can get a batch made up with the right holes in them .... I'd still stay with my modded guzzi bits Whats the odds on this thread running for at least 5 pages ???!!!! Chris PS :Any one tried distilling their own fuel yet ????
  15. WOW !!!!! this one is a real monster thread... Unless I missed it , no one has come up with a set of drilled pucks that have failed which implies that it is safe and the EASY way to go.I'm certain that if it wasn't then Pete , Greg and all the other old hands would not endorse it . Any pics of trashed ones out there to post ??? Pucks made of more compliant material would be great and if you go ahead then I'd be interested Dave.I drilled half a set and installed these years ago with no probs but a local ( French ) Guzzi pro tut tut'ed . I guess he just lives with drive train wear and they all seem to have a very conventional ( read stuck in the mud !!) approach down here.My "holy" pucks are staying in ....
  16. Well it seems that the Piagio take over meant disposing of as much stock as possible so heaps of stuff that has been waiting for us to buy it has either been sold to TLM or HMB or the scrap man.As soon as I saw the engine stock HMB had I put two and two together and concluded that the V11 line was ending.hopefully the more recent models will not be too affected but I wonder what the parts availability and the prices for the 70's bikes is going to look like soon...maybe I'm just paranoid Chris
  17. Anyone can tell me how can I get a rosso corsa cylinder head cover and the left "rosso corsa" stickers from the tail? Greeting from Spain and Romania! Hi Golem , try HMB GUZZI in Germany for the heads. He has a really good web site and also speaks very good english. Chris
  18. WOW !!! what impeccable good taste the builder has shown ... If only i had the cash I'd commission him to do a simular job on a V7 sport or better still Griso Some luck boy is in for a trae when he wins this !

    Valeo

Nice one Bob , it would be interseting to see if any of your locals can do liners. The Cylinder head shop in the uk swears by them and I've seen that Pete Roper uses them too. Apparently, they were originally designed for big diesel lumps and trying to improve rebuild costs.certainly also worked for me on the T3 but I did originally also have some missgivings too... Any luck with the starter yet ??? chris

    Valeo

Yup , some things ithe French do are top and others...are just shite or so technologically retarted you could cry !!!! But as thy say the grass is allways greener on the other side of the hill... Have you come accross anyone over here who can supply and fit valve guide K scoll guide liners???I've tried a number of good mechanics and motor reconditioners down in the montpellier region and they all thought it was a really bad idea which is pretty amiusing to me seeing that the T3 has had a set in for about 40 thousand miles and still going strong!! I've got a spare head to overhaul and the NTX I recently bought will probebly get a head overhawl soon too . I would really like to line the guides rather than replace them especially for the small bloc as the standard guides for those were not reall great anyway if only i could find someone who will do it . Same story with acqua bead blasting : no one has heard of it down here apparently !!!

    Valeo

Bob , I'm shocked !!!!!!! you are "FRENCH bob" and you havn'e noticed the amount of French cars that are early crashing into you all the time in France ???!!!! tSeriously , Valeo are a pretty big firm and are the equivalent ( in more ways than one ) of Lucas. Heureusement on ne peut pas les appeler les 'princes de la nuit " (leurs alternateurs marchent... ) mais peut etre les "seigneurs du starter "???!!! Hope the solenoid clean works.... Chris
