  1. Hi - I am new to Guzzi's but I was told on another board that I risk burning valves if I run the cheap stuff. Again, not an expert, just passing along the info. Regards, Bob
  2. Joe - Bravo, I love it. Is that the tank you had leak trouble with? t really came out great! More pic's if you have any. Bob
  3. Brian and Doc...thx so much for the info. I will be calling both this afternoon and see who can assist me the quickest. I was told it was done but I need to confirm! Bob
  4. Hi - I searched on the site but could not find...... I have a 2000 V11 that has a serial number in the recall list. I was told that the work had been completed. If I contac MGNA will they be able to tell me if the work was performed? Any other good way to confirm or suggestions? Thanks, Bob

Welcome Guzzieke! Talk about a change in acceleration, I came from a Honda 400. How'd that work out for me!
  6. Hi, New to the V11 but I love mine the first 3 weeks I have had it. If money is not an issue, there is a 2004 V11 that has 1K miles on it in WA that looks really nice. BIN Price is up there though at $8K. 2004 Moto Guzzi : V11 Sport Item number: 330162966728
  7. Hi Ralph, I just recently had mine shipped. Draining wasn't required? Is it in your case? Regards, Bob
  8. Hi Soren, Just curious.....I am a new V11 owner. My only ever riding experience was on a mid 70's Kawasaki 500 and a Honda 400 F. Why do you think they are different than any other you have ridden? Again, Just from a curiosity standpoint because I have limited experience on many different bikes. By the way, I love my V11! 3,400 miles! Regards, Bob
  9. Wow....sorry to hear. You better check out some of the oil threads that have been active here lately. Really can't let something like you are describing get out of hand (Oil Leak). LOL Bob
  10. Good Luck. I am performing my first oil change this weekend. Will try the other two in the next month or two. You have a nice looking bike! Bob
  11. Hi Mike, Welcome aboard. I am a new Guzzi owner in August myself and in a similar predicament. Check out this site. I gives simple instructions on how to change the oil, gear oil and service the rear end as well as the tools required. Very few indeed and worth a look if you are a new mechanic like I am! http://www.motoguzzishop.com/Big_Daddy/Big..._oil_change.htm Regards, Bob
  12. You guys have been awesome with all your replys. Although I am sure the Yak Fat and Extra Virgin Oil will work, here is what I have decided: Amsoil 20w/50 Full Synthetic UFI FIlter I will also remove the whole sump to see how it looks even though it only has 3,400 miles. Sounds not much longer than removing the manhole. Regards, Bob
  13. GuzziJack, Thx, that is a wicked awesome link. UFI looks good. I just wanted to make sure it was one of the better ones. I am in Florida so I do not need to worry too much about cold weather viscosity...I think. Bob
  14. Wow - Now I am just a bit confused on the 5/50 versus the 20/50. I think I read on threads here to stay away from the 5/50 because that was primarily designed for the newer, closer tolerance engines? I think I read where someone did engine damage. Should I not be concerned running 5/50 synthetic? Thx again for all your help. I do own the 27mm socket tool and filter wrench! Bob
  15. Hi, I am going to change the oil on my newly aquired 2000 sport with 3,400 miles. I have read many posts regarding tightening and how-to's so I think I am all set there. My questions are: 1. Type of oil recommended....20/50, synthetic, brand, etc 2. Brand of filter Would appreciate anyone's opinion or let me know what you use and have been successful with and maybe anything to avoid. Regards, Bob
  16. Looking for a replacement can for my 2000 V11. Original is scuffed pretty good. Looking for a Corbin Gunfighter. Have seen a few in the past. Thx, Bob
  17. Hi - I also have a carbon fiber wind fairing and my gage panel/dashboard is also matching carbon fiber. Otherwise, I might have been interested. I really like what you have done with your bike! Regards, Bob
  18. Hi, Recently moved to Tampa Florida from Boston. Deal with my wife was if we moved to Florida, I could have a bike. I just purchased a silver 2000 V11 Sport with under 4,000 miles on it. Working to get it registered this week. Would love a little help from anyone. Have always had/ridden Japanese motorcycles and this is my first Guzzi. Can anyone help me with: 1. What Repair Manual do you guys use? 2. How's the reliability of these things? I hear they are good. 3. Anything else I should know about these bikes? I was a little worried because I have never had a bike this big, engine wise. I am 47 years old, 5' 10" and 175 pounds. The weight seems relatively light and appears about the same as a 750 I use to have. I appreciate any insight you have! Regards, Bob
