  1. The bloke who owns the business races a very modified 1100 Sport. Nice guy, can't remember his name though. Met him at the Scottish bike show last year where he won the award for best engineering - on the 1100 Sport - the air intake was about the same length as the bike.
  2. Euan, the Piaggio plant at Pontadero is the same size as Edinburgh - what is it they do in there? How's the weather? Lucky bar steward. Put in a good word for me at Agostini's old bean. If you're in Stucchis, say hello to Hutch and Lisa from me. See you when you get back.
  3. Unbelievable as it may sound, but I've met quite a few motorcycle riders for whom bhp is not the criteria used when choosing a bike to ride. I know one guy who has three Breva 750s and a V7 Classic - loves them. They are very popular. Not what I would choose and by definition, not what members of a V11 forum would choose either - they have their place.
  4. Gino, your stand has left Italy and is on it's way. These days, that job is the only thing I'm qualified to do - it would be stupid not to apply. I'd just have to suffer the weather, food, scenery etc.
  5. Grazia mille Steve for pointing this out. My application will be with Alis by the end of today.

    Hooch

I was given a bottle of home made Grappa last september which was smooooth, sweet and superior to any I've bought but as I've onlya thimblefull left cannot constitute a favorite tipple. For that, it's got to be Black Bottle Whisky - a blend of all the Islay malts or alternatively Bushmills or Jamesons Irish whiskey. Gin martini is also... actually, if you put a cherry in some turpintine I'd give it a go.
  7. Bearing in mind that I'm so sad/obsessed that I'd pay good money for a scrap of paper that someone who lived in Mandello had written "Moto Guzzi" on. Not true but you get the idea.
  8. Because it's got the "eagle" up front.
  9. On the label it says - AIRTECH MOTO GUZZI E2205 MULTI
  10. The place has improved in the last two years and now has a really nice resturant with balcony tables overlooking the lake.
  11. A little on the funky side is a bungalow or camping at Camping Continental. That's where I always stay. When are you going?
  12. Check the steering head bearings. These bikes have seperate races and loose ball bearings and it can be pricey to buy the complete set - 4 races and 44 balls - if you can find them.
  13. Hiya Gino, all I would add to the toolkit would be a spare phase sensor, gear selector spring and relays. They take-up no space but could save the day in the middle of nowhere.
  14. And there, much like an image of Jesus on a slice of toast, on the tank of a Vincent motorcycle appeared the face of the BFG.
  15. The Renault Alliance is a subcompact automobile that was built and marketed in North America by the American Motors Corporation (AMC) through its partnership with its majority owner Renault between 1982 and 1987, when the Chrysler Corporation acquired AMC. So Cadillac looked at GM’s international portfolio of products, came across the rear-drive Opel Omega MV6 that was then being built in Germany (perfect!), and decided that, with a little bit of redecoration and a name change to Catera, it would make a great Cadillac. Merkur?
  16. Perhaps my arse is a different shape from the usual arse but I don't get it. My seat is just fine and I've done some big milage in single days - you should try 1000 mile days on a Daytona - pain, pain, pain.
  17. Parts readily available. People do insure them. Very beautiful red devil.
  18. Bloody hell, I've just changed mine but I'd better do it again
  19. Very nice condition. I bought my Tenni a couple of years ago and still can't believe how beautiful it is and how lucky I am. Havn't stopped grinning either. I might be over in the Brisbane area in Oct '09
  20. A quick, firm thump right at the back of the seat whilst turning the key works for mine when it's reluctant to let go.
