  1. Glucosamine? I cannot close my pointer and middle fingers on both hands. Like laying them on the levers is as closed as I can get them. This started about five years ago and I thought I was having a reaction to the brand of oils I was working with every day. I now "know" it is arthritis and I don't like it .
  2. Different brands of paint matures differently. Same as w/hair on people's head.
  3. docc , off the top of my head , these switches : oil press. neut. , etc. are n.c. (normally closed) switches. Wiring diagrams should display n.c. or n.o. next to the switch for clarity and understanding of the circuit. MG does things "their way".
  4. The red/green wire that had a wire nut at the end , did you connect it to anything ?
  5. The bulb is in this circuit. IDK what r value is for the bulb , BUT i am happy.
  6. Looking at this simplified diagram , you should be able to disconnect the two wire connector (blue wire & red/black wires) and apply 12v and - to these two wires and the gen light turn on. This will test the bulb and wiring circuit.
  7. HEY HEY HEY . I'm not smart enuf to do that !
  8. SamP , did you reconnect the red/green wire to the V reg ? Also , there should be continuity between the 2 pin connector consisting of a blue wire and a red/black on the regulator wiring harness of the bike wiring harness.
  9. Did someone post a correct wiring diagram for this bike ?
  10. Absolutely ! SamP forgive our zeal but we want you to get this fixed and operating correctly. Moto Guzzi will make you an electrical tch whether you want it or not !
  11. I have said this once before. I think EVERY V11 has their own wiring harness and ign. key.
  12. The oil light , gen light and low fuel light are connected to the + terminal of the tach (I assume it works ?) , the front brake light switch (does it work?) , turn signals (do they work?) and rear brake light switch(does it work?)
  13. Relay 2 , when it is energized powers up the low fuel , oil press. and gen. lights. It powers up the tach and these lights and other components. When you install the #2 relay and turn the switch to run position the headlight should come on proving the relay circuit is working and the instrument lights mention should come on too.
  14. I would take/post pictures but I can't hold a camera, light wiring harnesses correctly and press the button at the same time !
  15. SanP , on my red frame the two red wires form one pin and they go into the red/green wire on the bike. The black wire goes down and grounds to the regulator mount.
  16. Well docc , the red/green wire is the wire that goes to F3. and I ASSUME the black wire is the ground to the battery. Let me go o/s and check my red frame to say yes.
  17. According to wiring diagrams , the regulator has a ground wire coming out of the regulator and going to a GOOD engine ground and at the same connection a good ground going to the - post of the battery.
  18. SamP, this means the wiring and the bulb in that circuit is good. You have no reason to tear into the cluster or anything else. I can send you a pic if you call my cell to explain what you did.
  19. SamP . This will be easier and 100% . instead of testing at the oil pressure switch , remove the #2 relay (headlight relay) and probe the center terminal to the blue (again I hope this is the right color) to see if there is a complete circuit for the charge light.
  20. Pete , I would contact the service department and get their blessings on changing v leaving the wrong viscosity oil in.
  21. No , disconnect the wire at the oil press. switch and the ( I hope it is) blue wire at the regulator to test the continuity . This will work if both alt. and oil press. lamp bulbs are good. This is going to have to work since the three screws are messed up and you can't disassemble this housing. IDK where this 12 pin connector is so I am not sure how easy it is to reach.
  22. SamP , do it like this . Disconnect the wire from the oil pressure switch and the blue wire from the V regulator and use a multimeter to check the continuity of this circuit. This will verify the wiring , bulb (as long as the oil light bulb is good) and the fact you have a complete circuit. No need to disassemble the instrument cluster. I use an analog meter instead of a DVOM.
  23. find a new form of entertainment because these ain't comin' out.
