There is a bridge about 25 mi. from here that crosses the Ohio from Paducah to Brookport Il. and it has a steel grate floor. It is exciting going across in a vehicle. Motorcycle : no way !
These seem to be more affordable! Remove and replace the bolts one at a time to keep from breaking the seal of the inner and outer halves of the caliper housings. Use an amount of anti-seize on the fasteners.
You got that right ! I hate these shallow head socket head and shallow head Torx. It seems like they are "one time use" and that's that. Caterpillar equipment is loaded w/the shallow head Torx and you are lucky to get 75% of them loose w/o stripping the fastener head.
Yeah , when you realize what is / is not in this switch then you conclude they are charging about $90 too much. It is literally a door jamb switch. That reminds me , I will look through my Standard Ignition Buyer's Guide and see what I can find.
Don't overthink your problem. You did the right thing . Now , when you get the replacement wire it in hard w/good butt connectors and get rid of the bullet connectors.
Get you a GOOD new regulator. Not an eBay $19.95 special. Be advised your charge light can come on if it is overcharging also. These components are cheaper than alternators , wiring harnesses and MORE.
