  1. 25/46 is 9.9922mm
  2. You could be happy with your method of tightening the swingarm pivot bolts. My objective was to remove any lateral movement of the swingarm. My method was an amalgam of RH's & others on swingarm alignment. Try the flourescent tube(s) method to see what you come up with. It might take six hands and two good heads to do this.... BTW, I don't know if it will help the tire wear. It can't hurt either..
  3. If it is a gas sampling problem, the bike has to run about 3 min. before you can get an accurate sample. The bike (or engine) has to turn X revolutions before going into a closed loop operation.
  4. Roy, If there were a "Member of the Year" award I would nominate you. This is (probably) the most proffesional thing I have seen on this site. after looking it over I can find no fault whatsoever. Note #7 is a very good test. I guess they all are?
  5. Can we see pictures?
  6. Mine measures 0.205" on the left and 0.115" on the right with 10 lb. preload on the bearings. My bike is set to track the front and rear wheels (almost) perfect.
  7. Tim, Turn the ignition switch to the on position. The oil light should be on and bright. Remove the wire from the oil pressure switch. The light should be out. If the light was on dimly with the key on, remove the wire at the oil pressure switch and ground it to a good (earth) ground and see if the light is bright. If so it is the oil pressure switch. p.s. I had this problem and it was the oill presure switch..
  8. Do you know any machinists with CAD/CAM and some time on their hands?
  9. Could you get Rossopuro to sponsor you with their spoked Alpina wheels?
  10. I assume you've Googled the problem ?
  11. acquiesce= to consent or comply without protest. I don't think Peter Fonda, Dennis Hopper or Jack Nicholson would say a thing. Being a mechanic and leaning over with the posture of a primate I thought my back would give out. I think my knees have taken precedence (this last year) over any other pain.........
  12. Martyrdom isn't all it's hyped up to be ?
  13. I would have painted it solid white or instead of silver I would have used a metallic white on the bottom portions.
  14. It sure beats my caveman drawings........
  15. I like the "Bic lighter" moniker! The Japanese cold produce superior quality but could not " breathe into his nostrils a living soul".
  16. That's why WE ride Moto Guzzi. My buddy said more professionals and tradesmen ride Guzzis than any other brand.... i love this site and enjoy communicating with all members on this site.
  17. UJM ?
  18. Moto-International has the relay kits for older Mk-IV series bikes. They should have something for the V11.
  19. Roy, you are sort of right and sort of wrong. Please see this description or explanation in the link below to see the difference. Google the word potentiometer and rheostat to see the difference. http://answers.yahoo...10075133AAMoFTz
  20. I've seen plenty of examples of batteries hooked up backwards. There is no one component that fails every time a battery is hooked up backwards. I commend your first time wiring diagram.
  21. Pull the fuel tank and the plastic shield between the tank and steering head to gain access to the cable(s).
  22. Re: relay #4. Sometimes relays have a diode in parallel with the coil to cause the voltage spike to go to ground instead of back to the device that triggers the solenoid. This voltage spike can be as high as 5x the voltage applied. This voltage spike occurs when the device is turned off (or cycled) and the field is collapsed in the coil. The diode as drawn I am not sure what purpose it serves.
  23. Wow !! You ruined my Saturday, Each time he overtook a rider was awsome! Can I have one of these for Christmas ? Each time I see these I can't understand how they got so close to perfection and then, poof ! Reminds me of the Buell B2 or all Buells for that matter.
  24. Normally these fittings are connected to the manifold vacuum via a vacuum hose. On this bike is vented to the atmosphere. Don't worry about it or you can connect a section of hose to it and let it hang down to keep foriegn matter from going inside the port.
