Rd400 pegs fixed under exhaust. Excellent for depositing you mid corner going round hairpin at Ruapuna NZ

Got home yesterday. All good. Bike ran well. Pictures to follow.

I'm thinking kill switch is cause of problem. I will give it a clean when I'm home. Im not tempting fate by working on it while on trip. Bike didn't miss a beat today. Traveled 400k home to Dunedin via some back roads. Off to rally tomorrow in Alexandra which is about 200ks away.

RM goes now. I've had it sitting in sun for last hour. Picking maybe water in electrics has dried out. Any way off to rally

All packed ready to go the Tattly Rappit rally(NZ Moto Guzzi rally) and RM won't got. Fuel pump & starter motor not working. Ran fine on sunday. Washed it after ride. Had on trickle charge since then. Battery has 13v. Lights indicators horn work. Checked fuses Battery terminals. Thoughts?

There is a speedo cable now available the does away with the 60 gear units. I've run mine for a few 1000 k's now with no problem. I've got a post in here somewhere about it.

I did as you suggested. Clutch still slipped a bit for about 5 gear changes after taking off then it was fine. Did rollon in 3rd gear 40k/hr near end of 100k ride. No slip. Clutch felt normal after slip had stopped. Each ride slip is getting less.

Release clutch lever revs build without going forward then you get forward motion rather than straight away. This occurs standing still or moving. This lessens the further you go. i.e trip into town is 40ks through country roads and built up areas. Slipping stopped after about 20ks and didn't at all coming back home.

Area around vent hose looks dry but from what you say it could be the cause of both problems. Think I will go with oil I know

Misting over Gear box was happening before the gearbox saga (Link ? don't go there) I've read somewhere on here of some gearbox oils causing gearbox leaks. I had also noticed the Penrite oil had reduced in thickness from what I had used before. So I put 2 & 2 together. Yes a leak or mist could be reason clutch is slipping. So theory is replace oil to one I've used before with no problems. If problems still occur where to from there ......

Has anyone else used Penrite gearoil in their gear box? GEAR OIL 80W-90 (Mineral) | Penrite Oil By process of elimination I think it is causing oil to mist over the back of my RM's gear box and the clutch to slip. Clutch slip goes away once I've travelled 20 odd k's. Going to change back to Spectro oil I was using before. Motorcycle Hypoid Gear Lubricant - Spectro Performance Oils (spectro-oils.com) I would use redline but no one local supplies it.
