Eventual Hp figures aside for the moment... Guzzi ought to be congratulated for achieving a tremendously light Adventure bike in comparison to what the market leader company of hardcore machinery has similarly produced. This plastic exo-skeletonised, blowfly-eyed spastic mongrel comes in at 189kg ...the TT meanwhile, at 208kg with shaft - is a mere 19kg difference! That’s a pretty good effort from Guzzi on Dry Weight alone. Fuel range, seat comfort distance, syncopation and the sheer aesthetics are all up to the beholder but nevertheless, completely intrinsic to what Adventure travel experience each will offer.

Well I guess there are some owners who don’t believe their V11’s make 91Hp either... and yet we still smile when we whack the WOT, so what’s the big deal in being so pifflingly pernickety and pontificating on and on about whether 80 means 80, or whether 80 actually means 76 or some other secret Illuminati boardroom hocus pocus number? Boohoo bah humbugs let’s all go get our green vests on and riot shall we? Besides, I understand that you can pick up an extra whole 4Hp wearing one of these...

This Mick Walker excerpt indicates the V11 may have been commissioned to Marabese prior to any pre Aprilia managerial involvement. In understanding the details on who should be accurately credited as the Father of the V11 - Arnoldo Sacchi was at the helm when the V11 SS was first unveiled - so either he made the first call to Marabese according to this ...or maybe even De Tomaso himself (as appointing designers was his modus operandi)! Marabese was the V11 designer that’s understood. Other sources also point out that that Marabese Design Studio was founded in 1984. So, my question is has anybody got any evidence for further enlightenment on who it was from Moto Guzzi extended his hand, or picked up the phone and said, “Hey Luciano, go ahead, get on with it!”

Well well, what’s the world coming to... recently found out BMW’s newly released F850GS engine is made in China by Loncin! BMW used to promote it’s products (& pride itself) as having built in undeniable Bavarian quality - I think they might have blotted their brand image on this one... perceptions do matter! I mean, the Chinese people don’t even trust buying baby food if it’s made in China. But I digress. Anyhow, here’s the latest V85 TT release with a rider... And Thomas, they’ve confirmed the 80 hp. Moto Guzzi back in the game? Absolutely!
