  2. My real question is what's the best method of getting the transmission itself into neutral. Itried pushing the "slee es back and forth while my buddy bumped the rear tire back and forth....not very productive. We only stayed at it a short while. My friend had betterthingsto do. I appreciate the help.

  4. Gaaaa ! Put the cove on. W 4 bolts... rolled it around and went thru all 6 gears...down to first ..back up to N. Took the cover into garage and carefully-neatly applied sealant,,.cover would NOT go back on ! !...tried rolling it...ITS IN GEAR !. How the heck do I get it to shift? My helper bounced it back and forth while I pushed the "movable hoses" back and forth WITH fingers. Got a couple shifts but no neutral. IS this the method? Bounce the back wheel like at a stop light looking for N or first while applying presure to " movable hose" until you get lucky ? And hope it's not a false N. I know those movable hoses gotta be driving FORKS and sliding gears on the shaft but it's all random to me. Is there a starting point? And the "be sure the dogs are equal distance" ? Equal distance from what. The case? Each other? Above and below? Side to side ? Baaa..it ain't nothing but a thing and I should be celebrating the good news from Piaggio..I just WANT TO RIDE !! 55⁰ SATURDAY !

  8. Thanks Gents...the xxx was me but I do have odd leters...an ROY in there ..will definitely refer to build date. How often have you hoped the vehicle you just bought is a year older than you thought?🤣 and I might get that remote bleeder...or just bleed it with each Tyre change.   9. Continuing on.... Called Piaggio again...got Willie again. Cross examined him on expiration of recall records. He was adamant there was no recall on that vin .... and they stay "forever". Mean while I decided I'd put the shift spring in so I could get to the clutch bleeder... well I got the clutch bled and the brakes while I had the $7 dot 4 open. Never got to the tyranny cover because I spent hrs getting the shock bottle off. Pulled the starter and side cover off to get to the 10mm nylocks and invented a tool to hold the stripped out Allen button heads. I got it but had to give up because I was all out of swear words...wanted to just put theT dain plug back in so I annealed the crush washer.........🤣😄😅 then I smelled the rubber ..and that was my last swear.. .
  10. Ya...can't understand leaving it gobbed like that. Even I would have scraped off the excess.... 🤣 maybe they cracked it open, smeared goo in the crack and sealed it back up....?? Ain't leaking now... Called Seacoast Sports who had a record of servicing it 4 times but never saw a recall or see one now on that vin. ... Going to change the oolong tea clutch juice. See if it still SNICKS. Was waiting to do that when I did my shift spring... I guess I'm doing that sooner than latter....pull my panties up and get at it. I was NOT looking for a project or death trap. Any tales of warning signs besides doccs false neutrals?

  12. Thanks docc. Not the news I was hoping for but always good to get your input...what the heck do I do? Try to get the kit, look for a tyranny or wait for it to blow up in 6th at 80mph infront of a trailer truck. ? Did you go thru this. ?

  17. Hmmmm... I was never aware there was any power train problem with this ear V11 ... except the Scura clutch... now that I just bought a 2000 Sport this thread crops up. ... I had noticed some escaped sealant at housing..thought that might be bad but now maybe it's good? Vin seams to fall in the range... M112170. I was going to ignore the sealer until I just got a good ride in yesterday. I had glanced at this thread and didn't care until I noticed I was getting a good SNICK" on about half my shifts into 3rd. Is that SNICK! a precursor of evil times ? I will soon have my side cover off for spring replacement (THANK YOU SCUD !) is there any seeable telltale signs of imminent failure ?

  19. OMG... of course... hadn't got my face down there to give it an eyeball. Just got it yesterday and getting over "it's unrideble" feeling due to weird bar, levers, mirror positions AND just getting off the Versys . I'm sure it's bottoming out on porkchop or something else. A lot going thru my pumpkin head like "Oh yea...I gotta get a grease gun set up that I can get at that forward shft zerk" I'm inpatient as hell ... to get this thing right.....yet springs a long time away !!😝
  20. I'm fresh off a Versys 650 and didn't notice anything.... except 1st being vague. .. that and "WHOA !!! Torque! " especially before getting the clutch lever right. 20 yrs on Guzzis...73 ( tomorrow) and more concerned with pink porkchop and trying to get the bars right. ... hate to go thru putting the clipons on but that's probly whatll take for me to get it right. We'll see... ....I might cut an inch off the existing bars. They're like Super Bike Bars with California type clamps. 1" to 3/4" deal.

Hey chuck....I didn't realize Scud did get my message and I ordered a spring from him ..the extended linkage I'm not sure except this thing has no feel for 1st gear like no clunk' "Oh yea..that's 1st" ..it just bottoms out. Would it cure that? I've litterly put a 20mi test ride on it. Seems to shift fine other than that. I wanna get out there and get as much done as possible while we got some 40⁰ Feb. here in New England. PO 6'3 setup got me all goofy footing. It has a very ping pork chop I gotta deal with too.what the hell is THAT ??!! FUUGLY! I was going to walk on the deal because i thought it was an after market-junkyard pork chop but I couldn't think of how you couldn't think of a crash so bad it'd damage it. So i did a Ggl search on v11 pink pork chop....and it brought me HERE !! So I tell the seller...ya..I guess it's a "thing.. here's a guy from 2009 ..posting on this V11 site about a pink pork chop....It was HIM !
  24. Hi Chuck I just bought a 2000 Sport w 12,000mi and sure could use an under the seat insurance spring before I go too far afield this spring. I wasn't able to get Scuds attention.   25. Ya...Mistrals w/ removed air box....I'm a little spooked about that... had a v11 with a hiccup on flat throttle 3-4k rpm that drove me nuts half a year. Will be the first thing I check on road test. Sat.New Hampshire 58⁰ !! It will be a challenge to keep from making an emotional decision once I hear those Mistrals through those pod? intakes. 2 hr drive up to look at lt. ....
