Not long to go now! Have you oiled your wallet?
  2. Is anyone doing this with aeroplanes yet?
  3. Turning this thread all country and western counts as hijacking in my book. Back to The Martin Barrett Polyethylene Dilemma. This lady appears to have a solution in her store-cupboard. The only question now is, which colour?
  4. That's cos he's an Irish piper ye eedjit. All the green is the give-away.
  5. Rubber is so last year. I've changed my tailor. Following the recent debate in this place, we're now sporting a custom made version of the classic Belle-shaft waxed cotton suit.
  6. Who is the best boaster? Martin Barrett, whose Tupperware isn't long enough for his or Raz, whose humility isn't big enough for his?
  7. Halfords sells label adhesive remover in a spray can. As far as I remember, hot air didn't work very well for me when trying to remove a label from the tank.
  8. I know you don't mean that: here, this should keep you busy – more skirt
  9. Spelling mistake? Campshire?
  10. Just so as to fit in with the locals in their tartan skirts? And the Yorkshire-men of course.
  11. Not the 2v. They say it's 1400 8v, to use alongside the current 1200 8v, in 'a selection' of new models (including a cruiser and a tourer). As for Stelvio, Jaap's Tiger etc: they talk of new proper off-road Tiger Adventurer, the new Yam Tenere 1200 super-trailie, KTM 1190 Adventure, Aprilia 1200 trailie. Hold onto your wallets, adventure-sporties.
  12. Transvestite, as far as I know. There aren't any in Scotland. They're all in England, congregated around Yorkshire mostly. Apart from Yorkshire, you'll find 'em in Holland, where they favour latex rather than plasma. PS, no need to apologise. You can't help being Scottish.
  13. What's sex? Is it worth the wait? It took me more than six months to get an axle spacer from Guzzi, so this situation doesn't seem too bad?

You're going to order two and give one to me.

I knew you were going to do that!
  16. Warm world...? Discuss
  17. I looked at your title and came with all haste. If you want to hijack the post, I'm your man. Now, stand and deliver, Kilty MacHaggis!
  18. Oh right: thanks, it's not what I thought. (Buell - Rebel Heart & pic of Nogbad (not): just a bit of long-running silly banter with Nogbad. But oh dear, wrong forum really
  19. That rings a bell. What was the pic? While you're checking, I see that Nogbad was featured on the cover of the Buell Club mag, Rebel Heart. Quite right too. He's been very enthusiastic about his little Buell. (Victor Bockris is Nog's Buell Club rebel nickname)
  20. Oh yeah: I remember that now. Thanks. Ok, I'm off to fit a flickable timing gear relay. Should work a treat. That, and another elastic band.
  21. emm, did you mention... the lower peak torque? Much lower?
  22. No, there definitely were two models: one called 'Road' and one called 'Race'. I selected the Race. I suspect that none at all are made now, with the passing of the V.11. If that's the case, get one while you can. I've no worries about the road performance. The thing goes fine. On any meets in Ireland / UK where I've had it on, it hasn't caused any real-life deficit in road performance compared to standard V.11s or MG Ti 'race' kits. None at all. Back me up someone! We all know that fretting over esoteric performance fineries is the stuff of baloney and blarney. Hmm that's the end of the Tech Topics Forum then
  23. I'm around now. On the 'Race' version there's not much baffling and so there is just an empty space under that top plate. If you buy it and it's the road version and you want the race, I guess you can 'clear it out' through here. I had the plate welded on as I found that the rivets work loose, the fibre sealing rope blows out and the whole contraption rattles like Pete Roper thinks Guzzis should rattle, but more. Plus the extra height of the plate and gasket means that the box won't fit to the bike without a bit of surgery. I wouldn't call it deep throated, as in the ebay ad description, but I like it. There's a sound file on this old neglected page: plug in headphones or decent speakers.
  24. How to Explain Motorbikes to a Dead Hare. Ah, yes of course: that must be felt wrapped around the pipes. The two disconnected lower legs: it all starts to make sense in a C20th Conceptual, with a capital C, way. Skeeve was onto it with the Chopper concept. Careful with that axe Eugene – another leg anyone?
