  6. No, there are two more core subjects. Those are the threads about TIME and Moths. The moth threads are rather esoteric, but actually so important that they get their own forum. As for Time: what is it? Come to that, what are V11s?

  9. I don't think there would be a locknut. Mine has the roll pin (top picture). There was an assumption before that the pin was later replaced with the adjustable post, but it seems from this thread that it was the other way round: earlier models had the adjustable eccentric? Do the later bikes, say circa 2004... still have the roll pin or was there a change again? ~ Not that it makes any difference ~ As regards its purpose, Baldini wrote a coupla yrs ago: "I think the pin is a stop for pawl arm. Guess that w/o it, even against spring pressure, the pawl arm may come away too far from shift wheel pins & allow uncontrolled movement of wheel." The position of the pin makes no difference to ease of parts assembly (Docc). I think it's clear from all the previous discussion and trials and errors and then fixes, that THE thing that causes the spring fatigue and break is the mismatch of spring coil and boss sizes, which causes obvious binding, stress and then *snap*!
  10. There have been a number of threads on this post / pin in the past – particularly because at least one person has found the pin in the bottom of their box after it had somehow come out. Bbennett: "You are exactly correct in your last post. I finally took the bike into Moto Int. in Seattle and they confirmed the roll pin had fallen out. They said I was lucky that it had not damaged anything upon exit. The bike is shifting perfectly again and my thanks to the Forum and to my dealer. If YOU are experiencing a large number (1 in 8 shifts) going both up and down, please consider the possiblity that this pin has fallen out (see above post)." http://www.v11lemans.com/forums/index.php?...st&p=102785 also thmpr: http://www.v11lemans.com/forums/index.php?...ost&p=62930 roll pin stop: adjustable post stop: from gallo_se who is another person who posted on this The post is adjusted to the opposite side from Doc's, though I suppose that it's giving the same amount of adjustment.
