  1. G'day fella's Thanks very much for your help!! I'll give it another go after work this arvo. Cheers Guzzler
  2. G'day folk's Well back from my wee jaunt to the high country and in one piece! Anyhoo, signed up with Imgzeit. Yep it certainly was easy and I've got some images on there already. My problem is I can't seem to get them to attach to my post here! I know it's something I'm doing wrong or not doing at all ! Anyone able to walk a luddite through it? Cheers Guzzler
  3. Thanks folk's. Reckon I'll sign up for this when I get back from my wee jaunt to the high country! Cheers Guzzler
  4. G'day, thanks mate. Is that an external storage bank(?) for your images as opposed to storing them on your own hard drive? You know when I up loaded about 10 years of photos from the camera to desktop it's now used 91% of my storage space and tells me i need to buy more! So this imgzeit might be a good alternative ? How would a card carrying Luddite go about it? Cheers Guzzler
  5. G'day Folk's. I've finally got photos from the camera onto my desktop. Now when I try to post a photo from my album/hard drive it wont attach but tells me the image is over 204.8 kb so it skips it. Do you have to resize the image? And if so how do you do it? Sorry I realise this has been asked 1000's of times but I really am a luddite when it comes to this stuff. Trying to get this down pat so I can send some photos of our roads down here eh. Cheers Guzzler
  6. Thanks Guzzimoto It's a valuable contribution to the archives of V11 info! It's info and observations like this that make these ole tarts the better for all of us to enjoy eh! Cheers Guzzler
  7. G'day mate I too had a heart in mouth moment years ago with the standard V11 forks! Hammering hard into a left hand sweeper which tightened a fair bit then unbeknownst to me the bloody road ends in a t junction!! As I'm heeled over the front hits a pothole and the bloody front end bounces up and deflects to the right a good 12 inches or so it felt! Managed to get it under control and HARD on the brakes and stopped JUST in time. It scared the crap outa me at the time eh. Ha ha that was about 8 years ago and remember it vividly. I got the front end resprung/ valved and a Hyperpro shock out back and set up for me soon after and it's a LOT better. However the front can still bounce up very slightly on a big pothole / bump but it doesn't deflect any more, Thank god.Just a slight shake of the bars. I've since seen a thread about the two holes in the compression side fork that the oil blows through these and not through the valving. This then results in the hydraulic lock and bounce back that we've both encountered ! So I reckon that when I get my suspension serviced soon I'll be looking at blocking one or both of these which should then stop the hydraulic lock? I think it was guzzimike or guzzimoto ( don't quote me ) who posted this and he did it on his wife's V11 with very good results. Once this is done it should remove the potential hopefully altogether. Cheers Guzzler Ps Crap roads don't help eh
  8. No worries mate. No way in hades will P.S ever touch my Greenie!! Cheers Guzzler
  9. G'day again I only really notice it on crappy roadworks where overbanding is present! This is where they pour new asphalt over the surface but not over the whole road ( or lane ) so that effectively the tyre can be riding on two different height surfaces. Fortunately we don't have grooved ( or much anyways ) roads here and only rears it's ugly head in the above situation so I'm not too concerned eh. They are a good sporty tyre but I may opt for a slightly slower steering tyre ( maybe ) next time? Cheers Guzzler Ps I was tempted to try the lasertec 01 but went with Angel 2 in the end because Angel 1 was sooo good. Also heard Roadsmart 3 are good ( there is a 4 now apparently!) and Contis have their fans on here also. Ha ha at the end of the day guy's we're spoilt for choice these days!!
  10. G'day mate. Let us know what you think of them after you've got a few K's on them. I found the very light steering a bit weird to start with especially as the first ride was in pretty ordinary conditions! But you get used to that pretty quickly and I do like them. Cheers Guzzler Ps oh they do track road imperfections a little ( read crappy road works - the car does it on the same stretch too! ) as noted by some but that doesn't bother me.
  11. Thanks Pete I meant to mention that Brad would likely be booked out for ages! Yep, both blokes are bloody good and great to deal with as well. Cheers Guzzler Ps I'd better get get back to work ha ha
  12. G'day mate. Welcome to the fold! Once you've got it sorted you'll love it eh. I'm no mechanic but I can highly recommend a couple of local blokes who are VERY VERY GOOD! Brad Black ( Brad the Bike Boy ) in Oakleigh is closer to you. Rob Grant ( Guzzi Repairs ) in Cranbourne. Cheers Guzzler

    Tank bag

G'day mate. Yes I did buy the Oxford bag and am quite happy with it! Having said that I have yet to get out on a trip to try it out ha ha. I have fitted it to the bike though and it fits with no apparent issues and can't wait to get out on the road with it. Hope to get away for a 2 x day ride sometime this month and test it out now that the planets seem to be aligning to enable this! He types with fingers crossed! Cheers Guzzler Ps if I can get away will advise how it goes.
  14. Yep I won't put anything but the PC 545 in mine ! The ole tart is turning 20 years old this year and I replaced the original Spark years ago with the PC 545 which as Doc says is same thing. That lasted until about a year ago. So in 20 years she's 12 months into her third battery ! They never get charged but then again I ride all year round here, But having said that she sat unridden for 3 months ( still can't believe that ) when we moved house about 7 years ago and still fired up no issues!! So I'm sticking with the PC 545. Cheers Guzzler
  15. G'day all. After the madness of 2020, ( and unfortunately for many, it continues !) Just wanted to wish all V11 addicts a MERRY CHRISTMAS AND HAPPY NEW YEAR !! Stay safe and I hope that 2021 lets us all do more of what we missed a great deal of this year Spending time with loved ones and riding our V11's!! Cheers Guzzler
  16. Freaks !
  17. Bloody hell that would take you to the edge all right!! Edge of the galaxy perhaps? Cheers Guzzler
  18. I've got Pirelli Gt11 on my green one and run 35 f 38 rear. Works for me. Cheers Guzzler
  19. I also have Mistral carbon cans with no baffles! Really don't think the sound is offensive at all, in fact I love it. My wife who is not into bikes in any way also thinks the greenie sounds really good too! And she winces when ever the shotgun piped /unbaffled Harleys go past as well so does know the difference eh. Cheers Guzzler
  20. Gee, condolences on your Mother in Law mate. As for the young fella, good luck to him, they (Vic Pol ) need more good people. I gotta say though I've been bloody impressed with them any time I've had any interactions of late due to this virus/lockdown etc. Cheers Guzzler.
  21. Well not today ( Saturday ) but yesterday. I was going to post yesterday but got sidetracked! Anyways been locked up at home during the lockdown for weeks then work decided I should work from home.So the 5 week holiday ( ?) came to an end.Quick trip into the office to get the laptop/phone etc not Friday but the previous one.Well I forgot a particular file that I need so email to the CFO to get a Travel permit, Yep!To go back to the office and get it. So yesterday I did a couple of hours work at home and got togged up for the ride into the office.Nice enough morning, bloody unreal to be on the bike again after 3 weeks I can tell ya.Got to the office and got the file.Head for home. The weather has gotten even better so decide to take the GOOD way home and enjoy some twistys. All is good until I come off the highway just before the roadblock. The cops pull me over as think I'm trying to escape the Metropolitan stage 4 lockdown.Fair enough too. Both the cops were super friendly and we had a good chat.Afterwards they waved me off before giving me the lowdown on roadworks on the road about to travel. This was on one side of the wee town of Lang Lang.I got stuck behind a 4wd and truck so overtook them.Unbeknownst to me the highway patrol saw the whole thing( on the other side of Lang Lang ) and in hindsight probably thought eye eye heres someone trying to escape the ring of steel ( Vic govt term for the border around Melb metro and regional Victoria ) and gave chase!Saw the blue flashing lights and thought SHIT here we go, how much is this gonna cost and how many points?Anyways they did the checks, same again never had to show my papers ( sounds like something out of a second world war escape attempt doesn't it!) as they asked a few questions and they could tell by number plate recognition that I was legit.A quick breath test and they too waved me on my way.Same again bloody good cops! Well a little jittery after my close encounter with the long arm of the law but no fines/loss of points, I set off home. The suns out, the wind has dropped right off, the roadworks the original cops told me about were on the other side but I did look out for the crap on the road advised about and had a GREAT RIDE HOME! The ole bugger run and handled fantastic and the 32 kilometres was just the mental therapy needed. Well got home and scoffed some lunch and did another couple of hours at work then turned the laptop off and joined my wife on the balcony for a glass of shiraz! A bloody eventful but great day! Cheers Guzzler.
  22. Ha ha I've been lucky enough to have been up in a helicopter and an old Tiger moth and DC 3.As a passenger not a pilot! I've also skydived, my Dad was a paratrooper in the British Army as a young man so almost felt compelled to try it! Although all of the above were truly life affirming experiences, the helicopter ride was over a glacier in NZ,tiger moth flight was over the Great Ocean road here in Oz and the DC 3 a flight over Melbourne and the Port Phillip bay at night. I have to say they can't compare to my lifelong love of motorcycling and the experiences that it has given me! Gotta say though, how bloody lucky are we in that we can do all this!! Cheers Guzzler
  23. Thanks mate, will do. Cheers
  24. G'day Tomchri. Sorry for the thread hijack folks, but where did you get the tail tidy/rear light assembly? I reckon this area is one that needs a wee bit of attention on our bikes and yours looks pretty good! Cheers Guzzler
  25. G'day I've also got the Hyperpro and am happy with it ! I tried to get the Wilbers at the time but there was an issue with supply here in Victoria so went with above. I reckon you'd be happy with either one as both are much better than stock! Cheers Guzzler.
