  2. I've got this 4 month old Black Lab. He develops a serious twitch after about 20 minutes asleep. Mostly at low speeds. Should I add to or reduce his rake? "]Nero Sorry He's an 09 model, bone stock.
  3. Well, all that is well and good, but what does it have to do with feral cats, or the best place for dinner on Tuesday night...
  4. Sorry, I misread your post. Tx hasn't seen any of these posts, AFAIK. I'll be interested in his response, if one is forthcoming.
  5. Case in point. A few years ago, after closing on a rainy Saturday, we are sitting around the shop having a root beer or 2. Our phone number had been erroneously listed someplace as a contact for Enterprise Rent-A-Car. Had been receiving numerous calls from people looking to rent cars, etc. It had become a considerable annoyance. Phone rings, I look over, it's line 2. Sure to be a call for Enterprise. I ask Tx to pick up the phone and tell them they have a wrong number. Tx: Enterprise, Kirk here. Caller: I need to rent a car. Tx: We ain't got no cars, you should call Hertz Caller: Do you have a phone number for Hertz? TX: I work for Enterprise, why the hell would I have a phone number for Hertz? Caller: I want to talk to your manager. Tx: I am the manager. Caller: What's your problem, top of penis :-)? Tx: top of penis :-)? You think I'm the top of penis :-)? Well, top of penis :-), I have a car, so it sounds to me like you have the problem. Caller: Maybe I should come down there and kick your ass. Tx: Great, come on down. Oh wait, you don;t have a car. Can you pick up some beer on the way? We are just about out. I'd pay money to know how that shook out at Enterprise Corporate HQ. All the years I've known Tx, I have never seen him do anything to harm anyone. He pushes buttons. He likes to "F" with people. Spoke with him again today. He was upbeat. I think he'll be around a while longer. Jaap, please don't delete this thread. Lock it if you feel necessary. please note-- the caller introduced the phallic content to the conversation.
  6. He'd call it fertilizer. And laugh about it. I wonder if J in L would do the same with a Genuine Road AppleĀ™? I'm sorely tempted. What did Tx do to you to raise such vitriol, dlaing? Steal, Cheat, or simply offend? Quite high-brow of you. Bourbon and bullets both have their place. Both are legal. Or are you here to preach? Testify, Reverend. I know an Aussie lass who'll have a whole heap of flowers ready for TR. Careful, she whacks a dillo with a varmint rifle right quick, to boot.
  7. I think many here have misread Jim/Tx. Those of us who know him understand that he derives pleasure, perhaps perverse in a way, from pushing peoples' buttons. He is an ace at this task. It is a marvel to see in person.
  8. And the 300 miles on my car from yesterday attest to what the man means to me. There will be many more. Sad and lonely? Yes. Also scared and fearful at facing the ultimate demise. But also resolute. He is looking death square in the face. I hope you or I never face such a fate. Please get over whatever hard-on you have for Jim and show some human compassion. It might look good on you. If you can't, perhaps you could simply shut your pie-hole and let this issue pass.
  9. Steve, that was Mike you spoke with in LA at the Laverda shin-dig. But, I like to think I am also a great guy. Regardless, we will continue servicing Guzzis.
  10. Rossos had black fork legs and black headlight ears. Easy vsual tip-off. Correct on the 300 numbered, 300 un-numbered.
  11. Some hillbilly showed up with a wad of (obviously ill-gotten) cash, and bought himself a motersickle. He seemed happy with the "service" received. Mike has to share a room with him at Itlee. I am at don't ask, don't tell parameters at present. They seem kinda cozy, but I am wiling to give the benefit of the doubt.... Consenting adults, and all that jazz....
  12. You may have missed a source. http://www.mphcycles.com/Accessories_New/V...PedalBrake.html $115.00 with rubber and screw.
  13. Transponder keys are the double throwback whizbang lasercut variety. V11 keys look like the the typical padlock key. nothing special, about 8 bucks each. WTF is wrong with people. It's a key, for Cripes!
  14. That'll buff out. Glad you're o.k.

    Slug's Crash

Well, yeah, but at 20K it woulda looked like dog crap anyway. Gald you're OK, for the most part.
  16. Umh, Umhhhhh I loves me some deep-fried rat sammiches.
  17. Greg speaks truth, the Ballabio cables have a 90 degree arc in the grip end of the cable. 2 cable set-up on the Ballabio, also. The early cable I have (01117560) measures 1080 mm overall, 855 mm sheath. Of course with MGNA in the mix, it may always be for a Falcone.
  18. And Rocker is from Northern Arkansas (the best part), as Mandello is in Northern Italy. I trust you to see the "connectione"
  19. The oil pressure switch from a 1988 BMW 325I will be the same thread, and the spec'd pressures are within a gnat's ass. The electrical connection is different, (round on Guzzi, spade on BMW. It's what I would do in a pinch. Same switch was used on many BMW bikes, but my memory fails me as to which ones. The airheads used 3 different switches, so I hesitate to list a reference from memory. Some Fiats used the same switch, but I haven't had anything to do with Fiats in years. I am a happy guy, and drink much less now, as a result.
  20. And what guy wouldn't? Sorry, I tried to resist.
  21. Mr. Roper, Thank you for your interest in our services. You seem to have a very "old-fashioned" idea of how things should be done. While quaint, you obviously have a lot left to learn. While it will prove difficult, we are willing to go the extra mile for a furriner Guzzi rider. Since you asked so nice, we'll work on your bike and charge a fair price. Funny thing, in all our years of repairing motor vehicles , the person who asks for or expects a discount or a freebie is the last to get it. The guy most likely to get a "deal, favor, or bonus" is the guy who comes in saying he wants to pay a fair price for good work. Fancy that. Someone who has helped you out in the past quickly falls into the latter group as well. e-mail sent.
  22. New Hampshire to Houston may be an easier sell than clear across country. I stand by ready to assist per overnight lodging, logistics, airport transport, etc. Just sayin....
  23. We saw an 04 Cafe Sport, a few months ago, with the symptoms described. One of a large number we sold. One failure. Chalking it up to poor metallurgy at this point. No microscopic analysis performed. No problems seen on others of similar vintage, many with much higher mileage. The suspect bike is owned by an "aggressive owner." But he is not an animal. Good idea to check your valves. Then go ride.

    Destroy

Driveshaft/U-joint perhaps? Just a guess, and I hope I am incorrect.
