  1. Looks like i will be hunting this down next time i have my tank off. Do you think a shaky needle like this might be a mechanical issue with the tach itself? Or would a weak ground/connection contribute?
  2. Its weird because besides one episode fairly recently (seemingly unrelated) ive never had running issues. The pump just groans. Anyhow i took apart the kill switch gave her a few blasts of contact cleaner even though there was no visible corrosion or dirt. A few starts and so far no annoying sound... Wish i would have done that 9 mos. ago. Once again thanks guys!
  3. Awesome. Never had the unit apart guess I figured it was in the loom. Thanks docc!
  4. Nope PO had fitted with manual petcock. The "groan" has never bothered me but the other day it didn't prime at all until I toggled the kill swithch a couple times. I feel like it's a bad connection somewhere. I've gone through all the obvious connections i.e. relays, fuses, pump itself. Fuel filter is relatively new.
  5. Continuation of the airing out of my V11... Not sure that makes sense. But anyway the nearest ethanol free gas where i live is only 90 octane this is what I had mostly been running. I've tried some different brand higher octane w/ethanol fuel and was having better luck. But after two tanks of the ethanol free w/ a cheap octane booster seems to be the best. I can get it to ping but I have to try pretty hard. This is just temporary until I get more time on guzzidiag.
  6. While I'm at it looking at the wiring diagram I'm seeing this fuel solenoid (#32 on C. Allison's diagram) and I can't recall seeing this. I'm trying to track down an intermittent fuel pump groan and haven't had any luck. Also I am having trouble finding the ground for this too....? Thanks as usual.
  7. Slightly annoying problem with my tach as it flutters a little, not a huge deal but figure i should take care of it if/when I can. On Carl Allison's awesome wiring diagram it shows two grounds for the tach and a 1 way AMP? connector. Where are these typically? I can't recall seeing a single connector like that. I hjave looked for the grounds to no avail....
  8. Love how the guzzi is smirking in the background...
  9. Glad to hear it! Plenty of info around here to get that gearbox workin right too.
  10. If it were me i would change fuel filter, do a tune up, run an injector cleaner then rebalance TBs.
  11. The coils are just mounted on those rubber "puck" things mine fell off long ago so they are now held on by the nest of wires and fuel lines/a couple zip-ties. Not sure about that resistance reading. After 15k you should take a look at that filter and replace/wash if reusable. When was the last time you did a basic tune-up? TPS, balance TBs, valve check? Next I'd check that fuel filter at only 15k miles it could have had some old fuel strangling the system.

The old man took a demo for a spin yesterday... He was like "I did something really stupid today". He's in love.
  13. Ok Thanks Andy that makes a little more sense. I'm sure I will have more questions to follow.
  14. I'm about to dive into the ignition map on Guzzidiag. I have a couple questions for the experienced. XDF files... I've got the XDF file from Bernd at Guzzidiag, is this what I am tuning? Because I think I am able to open my Bin in TunerPro...? I guess I'm mostly just foggy on what is the purpose of each other?
  15. Noticed the same on mine, the other day I was re-attaching my x-over and noticed the lower frame rail bolt was backed out about 1/4" or more. Tightened it down and it sure feels like it tracks more straight. Check those frame bolts!

looks awesome! Makes me want bar-ends for me LeMans.
  17. pasta rocket science...eh?
  18. Welcome! Im a little confused on the start issue is it turning over? If not check that ground, on mine the main ground is behind the seat lock. Then switch your relays there are dozens of posts about them many switch to a higher quality relay.

Being so used to the fairing, it feels like it lost 80lbs. too. Freaking loving the nakedness!

    A bad V11 day

Damn. Atleast Kiwi_Roy's done the leg work for you as far as troubleshooting goes. Was that a genuine breather hose or the ford radiator hose or whatever like I have.?

not crazy about these cheapo mirrors For now I'm gonna ride her for a while though.
  22. JB, I've always had a similar issue as what you describe. I'm sure that you in South Cal. me in FL our ambient temps. are similar. I had just recently set my CO trim up to 3 using Guzzidiag and it really seems to help. FWIW
  23. Good to hear... What can't that "Hylomar" do?

I'm still thinking about painting the red a different color, but for now I kinda like it. Harper's has these awesome old style LeMans V decals that I would use... We'll see though, having my fairing match is a nice option.
