  1. Today was a ride day and I could not work on the V11 so no further advances but here is a picture for you to enjoy. Sorry not the Guzzi but something from the stable. Have a good sunday
  2. Lucky Phil, at this point I could do that and see what is inside the belly of the monster and fix whatever is need it, but do I need special tools to do that? I read in the archives about to take care of the rear swing arm off set before disassembly. Any input about it? Thanks in advance
  3. Scud my californian brother from another mother... I am not sure if I understood how the breathers work but I took the cotton swap and rubbed the inside of the tube that comes from the bell housing and got this I found the out side of the tube is dry and clean after took the hose out What do you think
  4. Do you guys think the breather hose new design and crack could be the cause of the oil in the bell housing?, by the way the breather caps are working flowless I must confess my pleasure in taking things apart but I could not see the leak with all those plastic, cables and hoses around. I will take advantage to do some deep maintenance to throttle bodies clean up everything I can, tiding up some wiring among other tasks in the process. I also found that as i read in other thread I have an over filled gearbox the glass sight is full that maybe explain the leaks but can not be sure. Please let me know what do you think
  5. The previous owner put some love designing the breather hose
  6. I found this, but the tubes were the hose is attached and the area around are dry like a bone
  7. Hello guys I am back looking for the wisdom of the fine people of this forum. I was just visiting this forum once in a while because my 2001 V11 Greeny had seen low miles in the odometer and not problems but an gear oil leak. A couple of month ago I was doing a short ride and suddenly a rattle noise comes up and I said to my self well the inspection time is here, after some disassembled I found the pipes crossover had a piece of perforated metal loose inside, I am planning a surgery procedure cutting the crossover take the piece of metal out and weld it back. At this point I decided to look were the gear oil comes from but with the bike full dress up I could not see a thing, I started them to clear up a little in order to have a better vision. Short history is half of the bike is resting on my garage floor and finally I can see no one leak but at least three one from where the shaft meets the rear wheel drive, second (not sure yet) coming from the top of the gear box near of the bolt that hold the gearbox and last but not least I took the starter out and I found some oil in the bell house engine side. My guess bad oil seals, I am not in the states and I do not trust in the Guzzi mechanics in the area (if I can call them that way, mechanics I meant) so my first question is suggestion on what to do from here, I would like to take the gearbox out clean an inspect everything, do I need special tools to perform this task?. I have bee reading all I can do in the archives but I am not sure how difficult this could be. Sadly I stop the bike and disassembled so clean up put some baby power run and look for leaks can not be do at this point. I am ears open to ideas and suggestion on how to going from here, the bike as I said is a 2001 V11 Sport with 35k miles on the odo, no modifications (as far I can say) running strong before stop to repair. Thanks in advance to you all guys
  8. Hello guys I have been apart from the forum since I am living an affair with a Japanese girl, a 2000 Yamaha TDM 850 she drives me crazy and now that my V11 is behaving good I ride her just for serious fun . Yes stick I had some problems back with my starter ends up the magnets unglued from the can and the starter stop working. I was luck enough to find them undamaged they just felt and sticked to the armature. Since everything was OK I cleaned all the parts carefully and then I use an epoxy glue (not a particular brand just one I could get at my local hardware store) but Loctite has an special compound to glued metal and magnetics if I can remember well. You do not have to worry about the position of the magnets, I used some pieces of wood to maintain them equally spaced after add some glue press them and let the glue cure complete. Since I repaired it I have not issues at all, I know you can find on the market the can with the magnets already glued but if is already bad but complete why not give a try to the old one. And KiwiRoy for your information due to the new exchange rate, the price for a liter of premium gas today in Venezuela is about $0.001, You can fill the tank up with a cent including a tip of five times what you pay for gas, so if you guys want to ride around here just let me know
  9. How about the rear shock? Brand and condition?? Sent from my SM-G900F using Tapatalk
  10. I have to confess that i have been busy playing with my new project. It is a 2000 Yamaha TDM 850 for daily driving porpoises. But I did check my slow RPM return to idle and I found that the choke cam was the culprit, clean adjust and voila she's is running as should be. Thanks on more time
  11. Thanks, as soon as I check over I will let you know
  12. Hi guys I have been experiment some slow rpm return from around 3000 back to idle when I stop in a traffic light sometimes I had to rev up the engine to get idle back. I recently perform some maintenance jobs including throttle body rubber buts replacement and reinstallation of the original air box among others. Should I look for something in particular ? The is ruining good with this random problem TIA
  13. Yes she is indeed but I still miss my Turner Sultan, one of the better bicycles I ever own among many in the last 25 years
  14. Hello Folks One of my Father's activities was a quick ride with some friend to test Cicciolina (2001 V11Sport ) that was off duty during a few weeks waiting for some spares, 110 miles trip with 100 mph top speed not a single problem just pure fun. I must confess I was more than afraid I was terrified at the beginning of my relationship with my V11 who started by trade for one of my favorite bicycles about 8 months ago. After Cicciolina arrived home towed in a friend truck since she was unable to ride due some electrical issues she remained untoched in the same place near 3 month waiting for a suposed Guzzi technician who after a few hours and a fat bill told me the problem was the TPS since a Harley one was installed instead, and he could not returned her back to the road, ".. when you find the original Guzzi TPS, I will back and perform a full tune up for free..." he said, I told him that I found a nice forum plenty of information about this Guzzis where the common knowledge agreed with the fact that Harley TPS if not the same perform well enough in our bikes, "...no way he said, the Axone never lies and I do not like the forums because they are a bunch of amateurs..." after that he left and let me in the same point I was 3 month early. Since here in Venezuela we do not have dealers, parts or Guzzis in general (to be right I was told that mine is the only Greeny in the country) I was on my own. I spent the whole week worry about how bad was my decision of trade my bicycle for this 400 pound paper weigh, so the next Sunday armed with a lot of determination and helped with the How to adjust TPS of this forum I had success and was running in no time (not really but was running at least). After that and I must insist thanks for the help and support of this forum and the wisdom of some members that selflessly dedicated time to research and suggest solutions due to the lack of resources and even giving me spare parts kiwwiRoy And fotoguzzi among others my 2001V11 Sport it is now running and giving me a big dosis of excitement and pleasure. Since the day I perform my first TPS setting I also did: Wheels bearings Fluids change Rear shock service Rear shaft maintenance and lubrication Bevel box inspection Air box installation Wire loom replacement ECU relocation Ignition switch clean up (thanks kiwiroy) Relays test and replacement Grounds clean Brakes Among other things Thanks to you all guys for the support and wisdom ONE MORE TIME
  15. If your are minded to spent some time and money BUY IT. Parts are available and for support you are in the right spot. Did you payed a visit to the owner and saw the bike finally?
  16. Delman I was in your shoes a few months back, a complete newbie. By now I know my bike more than all my fellows riders together and my bike is pourring like a kitty and all of this thanks to the forum help. At first could sound dificult and take time but soon you will be doing your TPS and TB balance like a pro, I did what Kiwi Roy said abiut clean the starter switch then just follow the instructions and you will be there faster than you can say Guzzibiri . Good luck
  17. For the look, the original speedometer but for functionality nothing beat a cheap GPS. I use a Garming Edge 705 on my Bycicles and the V11 as well, no regrets.
  18. Any input of where can I get the wires to connect the PC to the bike and run GuzziDiag ?
  19. Sorry but I did not specified that vendors must be located in the states, for me buy goods form Europe is almos impossible
  20. Hello guys I am in the process of fixing some issues in my 2001 V11 Sport, in order to accomplish this I will need some parts and I would like to have the wisdom of this forum. In my parts list are the following items, I will need some advice regarding which brand should I get and where I can get them: Battery (ETX15L Deka power sport battery AGM) Regulator/rectifier Intake rubber sleeve Air, oil and fuel filter (suggestions and cross references will be appreciate) All the cables to connect the PC in order to run GuzziDiag Since I am not in the states suggestions on parts and brands that could also work will be a great input so I can try to find the parts locally. As usual thanks in advance for the help I am sure I will get I must said as well that my V11 is running strong now and one of the reasons is ALL the help and information provided by this forum and forums members that have been kind enough to share your time and knowledge
