Does the Ohlins suspension raise the seat height, or is it the same height as non-Ohlins? BTW, if anyone knows of any leads on either of the above bikes I'd appreciate a PM. dlaing Posted April 29, 2007 Share Posted April 29, 2007 My understanding is that Ohlins can go as low as the MarzocchiSachs combo, but it can go even higher if you reduce the sag at the shock. My Ohlins are at least an inch longer than my Marzocchis, but they can certainly be lowered. The Ohlins shock has more travel and length, but the bottoming point is at the same exact low. If it is too high, just back off on the pre-load. If you bottom, get a firmer spring. Link to comment Share on other sites More sharing options...

Maybe it is possible to get the bike a little bit lower with a different spring - what do you think? I don't see why this wouldn't work for you as long as you're willing to trade less rear wheel travel for lower seat height. If you're happy with the spring rate that you have now a shorter spring with the same rate and the same preload setting should work as long as you make sure that there's enough preload to prevent the spring from being totally slack when the shock is fully extended.
