audiomick Posted 18 hours ago Posted 18 hours ago I finally went out and bought a lift for myself. I'm in a shared garage with a couple of other blokes, and one of them bought a lift a couple of years ago. I've used it a couple of times, but always have the feeling that I shouldn't occupy it for too long. Now I've got my own, and can leave a bike on there for as long as I like. Working on disarming the Gumption Traps here... PS: there is a thread with the same title in the German forum that sees quite a lot of traffic. Maybe there is a place for it here too. Feel free to post. The "other side" is "today I'm pissed off because...", which also sees a lot of traffic. I'll start that one here when I'm pissed off enough about something, if no-one else beats me to it. 3
footgoose Posted 18 hours ago Posted 18 hours ago Awhile back I got one of the infamous Harbor Freight lifts. It works well but has a few flaws. The clamp for the front wheel is useless and was immediately thrown out. I I replaced it with one of these, bolted down. also HF. Not handy when working on the front end but I normally do that on the floor, not the lift. When all the way down the platform is a bit high so I built a small wooden platform to put beside it when rolling the bike on and off. 2
