Guest davidb
I test rode a k1200s. It aint know old man's bike. Blows the doors of any harley and most jap bikes and is comfortable, handles the rough rodes real good. Sucks in town, but who wants to ride in town anyways but v twin posers. fernando
i will buy another brand because there is a shortage of good dealers. the bike is not very reliable. but it is a lot of fun and i love riding it fast. but the compromises are many as compared to more reliable jap bikes... for sometime now i have been riding with a bunch of guys here in ct. and i am very ,but very impressed with the honda goldwing....... many of us thought that it was a bike for old farts,ect..... but some who have ridden it quickly change their mind. and,i have been following one in the back roads and i am impressed by the handling qualities of the wing.,,,,,,no it is not a ducati, nor a guzzi, but in 70 % of the riding that i do ,it does all that i do ,in comfort ,and when they get off the bike ,the wing owners are very fresh and comfortable. in a parking lot ,at low speeds i was able to do figure 8 with better balance and a shorter turnning radius than my le mans. is it growing on me ? yes........ will i really buy one ???? lets see what the 2006 looks like.i do not like the dash nor the big trunk in the back (i have a fabricator that can remove this, and have already spoken to him ) will i sell the guzzi or the r100 rs ? the guzzi ,even thou i love the thing and the way it rides.......but on long trips i feel more confident with the wing as far as dealerships and reliability is concerned. stormsedge
All excellent points, Fernando. Not ready for a Gold Wing yet, but definitely getting ready for something else. Whether it will be in addition to or instead of the Guzzi remains to be seen. k
tomsp
I'd like to keep my le mans forever but would love a Triumph Sprint ST. But if I really keep the goose-- then I'd get the 05 speed triple (right now if I had the dough)
DeBenGuzzi
Just saw a low mileage Scura go on Ebay for $5400. Wow. At that kind of resale, I GOTTA keep this bike forever, it's apparently worthless to everyone but me anyway. 47704[/snapback] Thats why I'm keeping mine forever I keep wavering back and forth from a touring or supersport for my next bike.... maybe the Mille R....maybe Sprint ST... BarkinB
Selling mine (Mike's V11 for sale) Top 5 replacements in order of preference before test rides: Breva 1100 Victory Hammer Honda ST1300 BMW K1200GT Yamaha FJR1300 I know the Victory is quite the odd bike compared with the others, but I like it, so what? Why sell? I don't much care for the riding position. In my opinion, the LeMans is a sport-tourer, with about a 75% sport and 25% touring split. I'm looking for something with almost the opposite ratio. Also, I need the money.

And in the same vein... An engineering student was walking across campus when another engineer rides up on a shiny new Moto Guzzi. "Where did you get such a rockin' bike?" asked the first. The second engineer replied "Well, I was walking along yesterday minding my own business when a beautiful woman rode up on this bike. She threw the bike to the ground, took off all her clothes and said 'Take what you want." The second engineer nodded approvingly "Good choice! The clothes probably wouldn't have fit." jrt
Alright! I don't have quite the pocketbook, but we think along the same lines. I just bought a KLR650. 20 year old technology, here we come! Oh, wait... It's a big lumbering bike, but a lot more fun in town than the Guzzi. I even managed to go trail riding and put a hell of a bruise on my already-twisted ankle. It's going to be a rough summer....

Oh, wait... no depth to my pockets...just messed up priorities...*AND* the worlds most understanding wife ! i swear if it werent stupid expensive id convert my kdx to a motard, but by the time you deal w/ wheels, tires, brake rotors, master cylinders, electrical system upgrades required to support a headlight & stoplight youd wind up w/ several grand involved and STILL wouldnt have the proper suspension for road riding. and thats if you could even find the upgrade parts it. Guest GGuzzi
I voted other, which by no mean will I ever give up the Rosso Corso but if I could afford another ride it would come down to the Agusta brutale or good old american Indian. Possibly the Norton Commando " the new one of corso" Then again the retro Ducati Paul smart 1000 is a killer as well. Oh well... keep dreamin.
